  • Mike Smith fucked up the ride. Plain and simple.

  • @Buckets9817 Sure he did genius. The same Mike Smith who now has 15 Breeders' Cup wins. But like you said horse racing expert, he fucked up the ride.

  • close tough? she is one horse

  • If Quality Road hadn't gotten in the way, she would've been 20-20. But that's horse racing! and life...

  • OK, time for a little objectivity here. Zenyatta had plenty of time to catch who?Blame? Not Secretariat, not Spectacular Bid, not Seattle Slew, Affirmed, not even Cigar folks...Blame. So let's get real here. And one more step i this race or whatever? You can Zenyatta hung and Blame kept the lead past the finish line, and galloped out ahead of a very tired Zenyatta. Zenyatta was great, but she can't stand with the best male horses of all time. That is just reality, and genetics.

  • @PaulDePace Don't really see how the gallop out is such a big factor, though she did get her head past his the jump after the finish line. But the fact that he was ahead of her as they went around the turn doesn't mean that she wouldn't have gotten past him. That's like saying Rinterval would have beaten her in the '10 Hirsch had it been longer than 1 1/16. Or another example, the 1988 Distaff, Personal Ensign won by a nose, but on the gallop out, Winning Colors is way ahead of Personal Ensign.

  • @d9y8l7a6n5 - No way shape or form did she get her head past his after the wire, never.

  • @TicinoParadise

    Zenyatta + Gio Ponti = 20 Grade I victories

Zenyatta + Gio Ponti = over 13.4 million dollars in earnings

Anymore questions you need answers too?

  • This was always gonna be the way Zenyatta was gonna get beat. It's very hard to keep on giving Grade 1 horses leads and hope to claw it back. Granted it's served her well 19 times out 19 but she was always gonna find one who kept on running to the line. And you know what ? I'm not sure if they would have meet again Zenyatta would beat him. And in a way although I'm sad Zenyatta got beat, it's good that she did, to show that she's mortal like everyone else.

  • @denilson200 While your right by the law of numbers that she would eventually get beat. I GUARANTEE beyond a shadow of a doubt that if they would have met again on any other track besides Churchill the result would have been much different. Lets just face facts every horse has a course and Zenyatta damn near beat Blame on his home track. Something that would never have happened had they run at SA or HP. And while Blame kept running Zenyatta was catching him very quickly. What does that tell you?

  • Not to mention that I hadn't really even HEARD of Blame before this race. Kudos to him for holding of the Zen-monstah, but he's absolutely no superhorse.

  • Zenyatta is obviously the better horse. It may sound like everyone's trying to make excuses for her, but I don't see it that way. She had odds piled up against her, and I think her connections made the mistakes to get her beaten in the Classic. They should have had her there 2 weeks early out on the track and getting her desensitized to everything.. It was an assload for her take in, but she still managed to lose only by a few inches? That's an accomplishment considering odds piled on her.

  • Am I the only one who cried while watching this live?

  • To win 19 straight races, in the style that she did, was almost unbelievable. She is a true superstar of racing. Now we have Black Caviar tearing it up down under, 13 for 13 and don't forget Frankel, 7 for 7 and about to test himself against the big boys. Exciting times.

  • I don't know why people are calling Blame "the super horse". He only beat Zenyatta by a NOSE! One more stride and she would have got him! Thumbs up if you agree with me!

  • @KaseyisBeutiful One more stride for Zenyatta was what needed but Blame already crossed the winning Post. Zenyatta Would have, Could have, If Zenyatta this,Zenyatta that... It does not matter. The Fact is Blame beat Zenyatta. A win is a win. Zenyatta had a good race, Blame had a Perfect Race. All credit goes to Blame for holding on.

  • @KaseyisBeutiful I agree. However, her 1 loss spoke volumes to the HOY voters & horse ppl in general. That was the WORST race of her career (she didn't like the track, worst position she's been in her entire career [20 lengths back], stuck in traffic), she's 6 yrs old...and she comes in 2nd by 5 inches. And 3rd place is 2 1/2 lengths behind them! Blame had the perfect trip & he's fighting to hold her off. He had to beat her for ppl to recognize that she woulda been SCARY on any track, any day.

  • @sylvestergreyhound Ya know if you wanted to try not sound like such an idiot it might have helped if you did more than just change your first name from games, and also change the greyhound. And you may have also wanted to stop making up your stupid, half-assed "insulting" names and stop talking so rampantly about Personal Ensign, who at least you learned how to correctly spell her name. However, you cant claim "superior intelligence" by unsuccessfully "arguing" in the comments of a youtube vid.

  • @sylvestergreyhound yea im fucking 16 and i guarantee i know more about this sport than you, i want to see u be involved in a sport where you can win 19 in a row she faced the best fillies and mares out in California in all her handicap races she carried insane amounts and still came at the end, they raced her to 6 years old and comes another half of step away from making 20 for 20 recognize greatness when you see it and not its one flaw gtfo of here

  • @H0ck3ykid12 Trust me you do, and its good to hear from a younger fan. Ignore that "sylvestergreyhound" he just likes to make himself look stupid by trying to troll on Zenyatta's videos. Go to the 2010 Lady's Secret that TVG put on youtube, and you'll see him only with the name"gamesgreyhound" and his comments from months before. Same half-assed "insults" and weak arguments on a youtube comment section, raving of Personal Ensign, greyhound in the name, only difference is he's now "sylvester"

  • @sylvestergreyhound yea blame handed her ass to her i think she was a nose off? yea ur right ur a fucking allstar buddy continue to be a nobody and bitch about everything tell me how that works out for u

  • idont care ehat everyone thinks in my mind i know that zenyatta won the triple crown

i understand that she didnt physically win but in my mind she did (:

  • cant win evertime but from last to 2nd is unreal.

  • @moviesforrandy Especially from 20+ even 30 lengths at one point to just miss by a nose.

  • Did anyone see Frankel burn up the Newmarket mile for the 2000 Guineas yesterday? Awesome is the only word to use. Not sure how he'll fare at longer distances but this is some horse.

  • @kingsindiandefence It's on YouTube already, just type Frankel, 2000 Guineas. Forget all the arguments, anyone who loves horses will get a buzz watching him gallop. because Newmarket's mile is straight the camera car is travelling virtually upside and at the same speed so the passing scenery gives a great impression of the horse's galloping speed.

  • @kingsindiandefence well a year on (surprised this thread still going) and it's Goldikova's big night. Hope she wins but since then she's been humbled by Frankel, who should get 1 mile 1/4 next year. He's no hold up horse and should be interesting. i think they might run him at teh distance and try for next years classic if it turns out.

  • This has to be the biggest HEARTBREAKER of all time.

I felt sick after this race -- wanted Zenny to win so bad.

  • @SECby31 Burned out bulb here. FIrst off she won 19 in a row, not 18. Second everyone knows she didn't start her extraordinary career until November of 2007. The reason? She was still immature during the Spring of 07, and they allowed her time to mature and blossom into her own, rather than try to push her into racing. Remember what happened to Rachel after her brilliant, but extremely taxing, 3yo campaign? That could have happened to Zenyatta had they run her in the Spring classics.

  • @d9y8l7a6n5 I'm the "burned out bulb"?! Read my comment properly. I said her easy wins against much smaller mares got her EIGHTEEN IN A ROW - I know she won the Breeders in 09 and got her 19th, but before that she only raced mares for 18 straight wins. Ok, so now I know why she wasn't at the TC races, but "immaturity" doesn't cut it as an excuse (all 3 yr olds are somewhat immature, colt or fillies). R to R WAS there that year and had a huge win at Belmont.

  • @SECby31: It had more to do than her just being immature mentally. She was a huge filly. She was so big, in fact, that John Sheriffs has stated that almost every time he worked her, her legs would swell up under the strain of her own weight. It wasn't until late in her three year old year (And after the triple crown races) that she grew into herself. Yes, immature colts do run in the Triple Crown, but most of them stand a good 3 inches shorter than this big girl and about 300-400 lbs less.

  • Comment removed

  • @d9y8l7a6n5 Zenyatta's owners were scared to put her against the top colts of the 07 season. They also kept babying her with long breaks after each win to keep her record intact. And even with all that babying, she barely beat Gio Ponti in 09, a turf horse who is 2nd rate compared to a few greats of this century like Tiznow and others, and then lost to Blame in 2010, a good horse, but again, one who doesn't compare to recent greats. Goldikova has won way more against top males.

  • @SECby31 ...Goldikova is a mile TURF specialist, no doubt she's great at that distance and surface....Zenyatta barely beat everyone but she always found a way....and, you idiot, not every horse is ready to race at 2 or early in their 3 yr old year...obviously John Shireffs knows what he's doing...you don't have a clue about training a racehorse

  • @SECby31 So what? You talk about Gio Ponti being a turf horse, then praise Goldikova who is a turf horse.

You complain about Zenyatta's record yet she was put there to be beaten in her races and nobody did, until she was beaten by her jockey using exaggerated hold-up tactics in my opinion. Just like Richard Hughes did with Paco Boy against Goldikova, again in my opinion.

Zenyatta filled race tracks with people. Good luck to her. I hope she lives a long happy life.

    .

  • @SECby31 but zenyatta won almost every race but the last won and was probobly not in as many races

  • @SECby31 I agree. She was a great mare but a weak male division helped her win the Classic and finish 2nd. In both her Classics no Cigar, Invasor, Ghostzapper, Curlin, Tiznow, Skip Away.............

  • @moemoe513

I think Ruffian ran the weakest campaign of them all. She stayed in New York all her life. Ran one race outside her home state (AKA: ran next door in the state of New Jersey).

    Joke.

...and when she ran against males, she died trying to beat the Kentucky Derby champion.

  • @DBJKAJ the weakest campaign? name one hore that has won their maiden by 15 lengths under a hand ride, in the process setting thetrack record for fastest time ever run by any 2 year old! name one horse that set new stakes records every time they raced, who set track record for fastest time run for a 2 year old, and 3 year old! also, Ruffian was in the lead and widening when vsing FP! the jockey chose to ride Ruffian saying she was the better horse! and who knows them better then the jockey?

  • @moemoe513

Let's just put it out there: "Curlin was no Ghostzapper".

Curlin was a joke. He was beat in the Belmont by a female going a mile and a half and he couldn't run on multiple surfaces. Curlin backed up on the synthetic - exhausted and gasping for air. He also couldn't handle the grass.

He was strictly a dirt horse. Curlin raced in the weakest male division in decades, including that Dubai World Cup - a bunch of cupcakes.

  • They have the seabiscut statue at santa Anita race track, they also need zenyatta's statue E134

  • @wiely7 Hollywood Park would be more appropriate, since that was her home track, but if the unfortunate impending closure of HollyPark does come to fruition, then yes Santa Anita would be the best place. They also recently put a John Henry statue there at the end of '09.

  • Blame had 2 give all he got

  • Uncle Mo - now that's horse! Nobody cares about mares in horse racing. Blame rocked in that race!!

  • @rcschumann I hope you are aware that with that statement, you've just written off Zenyatta, Azeri, Goldikova, Zarkava, Personal Ensign, Ruffian, Lady's Secret, Bayakoa, Go For Wand, Genuine Risk, Winning Colors, and all the other great racemares in history, some of which are regarded higher than male counterparts. And everyone at Churchill Downs that day clearly had the mares in their minds, Z and Goldikova. And this has nothing to do with Uncle Mo, so you're statement is also irrelevant.

  • @rcschumann Shut up douchebag. No one gives a rat's shit what you think about TB horseracing.

  • @rcschumann zenyatta could beat uncle mo at any time!!!

  • @rcschumann Everybody sure was caring about Rachel A when she was dusting every male that loaded up with her in the starting gate in her 3 YO season. Dude you are as bright as a burned out light bulb

  • Blame was my choice in this race, and it had a terrific finish. Zenyatta gave it her all, but came up short. Nothing wrong with that!. Just remember that the GREAT, and LEGENDARY Ruffian only competed against filly's . Yes she absolutely destroyed them, but because of her breakdown in a Ridiculous Match race we never got to see her do the same to the boys. Zenyatta raced against the girls, and won, but unfortunately she lost on Dirt vs a VERY talented Colt who was the best on dirt .

  • Who the hell is blame were has he been running the merry go round!! Go queen Z congrats on the pregnancy and guys stop fighting be happy think of the sport!!

  • I PUT THE BLAME ON BLAME!!!!BOO!!!!

  • @sylvestergreyhound Lastly...you would happen to be that person who was trolling on Zenyatta's 2010 Lady's Secret video, who was also talking about Personal Ensign there are you? The names are quite similar, except if memory serves me right the other name was jamesgreyhound now its sylvester. Similar names, similar comments. Bit strange. But really why must you bring up Personal Ensign when the video is for Zenyatta. Wanna talk about Personal Ensign? comment on one of her videos

  • @sylvestergreyhound I take back my previous comment. Saying "conservatively campaigned" is a bad phrase for me to use the way I did. I meant it in the way people think Zenyatta was campaigned conservatively for running with the females throughout the year. Well Personal Ensign did the same thing in her time, save for a paid workout against two male horses in '88. I still want to put an asterisk next to "won a G1 against males on dirt", as it was only 2 rivals, yeah Gulch, and a sprinter

  • @sylvestergreyhound Mind you, I'm not knocking Personal Ensign, I think she is great, one of the all-time greats, however I think the phrase "won a grade 1 against males" is a tad misleading, some people I know who are of a younger generation to the sport, and appreciate her were surprised to see that it was only against 2 rivals. She is great, but 2nd best mare of all time for me, behind Zenyatta. Remember though, JMO

  • ran her heart all the time always tried to win she was a monster on the track

  • Doubters please read the wikipedia . then take a search on YouTube for the The Guineas, The Epsom Derby and The Arc. He was never troubled to win any of these, never tapped what he was able of.

  • i dont think zenyatta was any good at all. she never proved herself against real horsew, the 09' classic was a fluke, she faced horses that couldnt beat a 5 claimer at delta downs. and when se faced a class field, she came up short. dont bother defending her either, the only people that think she was amaing are little girls who know as much about racing as a fish knows about flying. dont get me wrong, shes a pretty horse. but people who compare her to secratariet know nothing.

  • @DemonChinChilla355 You must not follow racing if you say all Zen beat was optional claimers.Go to her Wiki page.It tells who she beat, what awards and stakes races they all won and just how many G1 Horses she beat. You must not follow racing because your statement proves you are ignorant when it comes to horse racing. Bet your dumbass didnt even know Rip Van Winkle got beat by only half a length to Sea the Stars and Twice Over beat Ravens Pass, matter of fact, you prolly dont even know who they R

  • @205seeme funny cause my dad and brother train racehorses. i think i know about racing. being as i exercise them too i know a good horse and a horse that gets lucky and is called a champ. Ravens pass is not a champion either so dont bring him up, curlin was suppose to win that race. yes she did beat g1 horses, but none of them could stack up as class stakes horses. zenyatta proved she had it easy all the way to the 2010 classic when she came up short to a horse who did his best race in the Bc

  • @DemonChinChilla355 So full of shit its oozing from your eyes dude...Curlin was supposed to win that race blah blah...Most of you morons didnt even think shed beat lookin at lucky. You are a rider huh? I highly doubt that because if you was in a training family you would know how great she is because it takes a great horse to come off the pace and kick ass 19 times in a row and stay in training without injury for over 4 years and come up 6 inches short from being undefeated.17 graded stakes.

  • @205seeme think what you want. in my opinion. she is not very good. and i am a rider, not races but breezes, jogs etc

  • @205seeme They were different races friend. STS only ever did enough and by the time RVW got to the USA he was over the top in my opinion. Ballydoyle were frustrated by then, having spent the whole summer using a talented string teamed up in an effort to beat STS. Folks believe what they want to believe but anyone who takes a look at STS races and his conformation throughout them can see he's not even remotely troubled in any of them, apart from The Arc didn't settle, troubled run, won easy.

  • besides even though blame one every one's attention was on zenyatta nobody cared about him after zen lost they all cared about her

  • I don't think it really matters if she won this race or not. I'm just glad she is sound, safe, and able to carry on her legacy :)

  • These arguments can go on forever. at the end of the day just opinion. But for Americans, consider an extra thing, Sea The Stars versatity at 3 distances, then also, American racing takes place on flat, left handed tracks. STS ran left curves, right curves, straight tracks, up hills, back down them. Epsom racecourse, first 5 furlong (f) R/L up 100ft, then sharp L drops 90 ft for 3 1/2 f, then L up a straight that slopes left to right.

  • @kingsindiandefence In the Arc he didn't settle in a way most experts say is race over, then he met trouble in running. Before the Guineas john Ox reports he had a virus that would have snuffed most horses for the race. all if's and buts.

  • End of MOW's story, yes. SECRETARIAT's story is everlasting and the most glorious in the history of horse racing.

  • Yeh, I'm from the UK but have to admit Aussie race callers are the best. We have an Aussie calling over here, Jim McGrath. There's a video on Youtube 'Sea The Stars , Complete Superstar' (coincidence) where McGrath is calling home STS in The Arc. Us commentators are also good, our UK callers don't do the drama. Except one, Derek Thompson who sounds like a complete pillock.

  • LUV THE WAY LOOKIN AT LUCKY'S JOCK LOOKED UP AND WATCHED ZEN FLY BY HIM AS IF HE THOUGHT LUCKY WAS SOMEHOW SUPPOSED TO BEAT HER

  • Zenyatta is the best filly i know right be hiend ruffien and some other grate fillies and if you think other wise go fuck your self be coes she is the best and i think if there was just a few more feet be for the fines line she would have won and one else who does not think so fuck youself and keep you bump ass comments to your self

  • @koolkat11297 Yeah Ruffian! She was a great one. She was fast & a beautiful horse. Anyway Zenyatta could have won her last race but it didnt happen. I was dissapointed but I dont like her any less. Thats just the way it goes. I complained to my husband. Like he could do anything lol. She (Zenyatta) is still sound as far as I know & hopefully her foals will turn out to be like her. I saw a few of your other posts. Might I ask Is somthing wrong? You seem really pissed off about this.

  • @whatdoesitmatter77

No im not mad that she lost i was in a fight with this girl that was saying she was not a grate race horse and i am a little mad cos she is 6 years old she is a little old and should have been took out of racing at 3 but im happy that she won at meny times as she could and i think her babys will be good to. and its like my mom has all ways told me it does not mater how good you are at what you do some one some where is all ways going to be better but no im not mad

  • @koolkat11297 I agree! 6 year old girls shouldn't be giving opinions about racing and you had every right to be mad. I think too that Zenyatta is a pretty good horse but had easy races in that string, but still impressive. It's sad Sea The Stars didn't come over last year but after so many group 1 wins (one a month) he was OTT. hammering Zenyatta would have put the crown on a flawless career at 8, 10 and 12 furlongs against the best in Europe, left hand, right hand, flat, up and down hill!

  • @kingsindiandefence

UUUMMMM thank you i think ya thankyou

  • @koolkat11297 Is taht a collie in your avatar? Can't quite tell, but nice looking dog.

  • @kingsindiandefence

No his half blue hiller and somthing eles but i know its not a collie i got him when my ukels girl dog breed with his mail dog and he was white when he was born his name was ruler so sad he passed on in 2008 the same day my grandmother passed on i like to kerry a photo of him with me even thow his passed i still get comments but i do have a collie thow oh his a blue heeler/catahoula that what kind of dog he is

  • @koolkat11297

But thank you for the comment on my dog

  • @kingsindiandefence - now you are talking mate!Sea The Stars was the real deal.He was so good he could have won a Breeders Cup in a hack canter if his six races and a five thousand mile trip had not done him

  • Comment removed

  • @postcardterry No horse, Zenyatta included, would have pulled him back off a lead. He just galloped and always looked to have more left. The Guineas (G1) 8 Furlongs, English Derby (G1) 12 furlongs, The Eclipse (G1), Judmonte (G1), Irish Champion (G1) all 10 furlongs, The Arc (G1) 12 furlongs. All in 6 months. All ifs and buts. If he'd have gone over would be hard to beat. would you all agree a much better horse than Blame? The buts? Long season, travelling, unraced on the surface.

  • @kingsindiandefence I think Shergar is one of the most underrrated horses of all time, btw, she would have needed wings to catch up when he struck out galloping 2 furlongs from home. She wouldn't have been near him at 12 furlongs, Europes Blue Riband distance. Which goes back to Sea The Stars a champion spanning 3 distances over 4 furlongs. I wouldn't talk her down but greatest ever is a big claim.

  • @kingsindiandefence I have not got a clue what you are talking about! Who is "HE" that you refer to??Sea The Stars or Blame?? I am a huge fan of Sea The Stars like a million other people so don`t really understand your point.Blame was spot on for this race and well done to him ! I have no idea if Sea The Stars would have won the Breeders Cup but one thing is certain;what he did on the racecourse will not be repeated in my lifetime.

  • @koolkat11297 Zenyatta didn't start racing until late in her 3 year old year, Her 2008 campaign was probably one of the best of her racing career Including the 2008 ladies classic and 2009 breeders cup. She's been on the track for 3 years and has loved what she's done.

  • @SuicidalKoala14

Yes i know im not stuped she has been a good runer in her years but don't you think 6 years old is a little to old to be racing a horse im just saying you might not think so but i do

  • @SuicidalKoala14 That's not so unusual if she was a late foal and at 3 a horse is more grown, 2 year olds are still babies.

  • lol, so she did get HoY. Was that a popularity contest or deserved?

  • @kingsindiandefence It was deserved....Zenyatta didnt get beat last year by 4 n half lengths by anybody...trainers were scared to run horses against her(hence small fields) ..Nobody has ever been scared of Blame.....He had the perfect trip on his home turf...she only lost by a nose after overcoming an awful trip.Blame lost to Haynesfield by 4 n half lengths.Zenyatta dominated the west coast fillys and mares but Blame Hardley dominated His Gender or the east coast for that matter.

  • @205seeme - I think Blame winning 3 Good Grade 1's makes him have a say in his class. I guess him winning Older Male Eclipse award means absolutely nothing?. Blames loss to Haynesfield was his first go at a 1 1/4, after a 2 month layoff. Then wins the classic his next time out at the distance. That is impressive too me sorry. I am not hating just wanted to put my 2 cents in.

  • @Nucleo85Torino He Deserved older male.I'm not saying he didnt. But if Zenyatta can be robbed horse of the year in 2009 why cant blame? Its just a double standard.Fillys or Mares are expected not only to dominate their gender..but then dominate the oposite sex.Females have to work twice as hard to prove themselves on the track. To be honest.I believe Zenyatta, Always a Princess,Switch,Blind Luck or Haver De Grace could dust Blame at a Mile and 1/4 given perfect trips like he got.

  • I agree, I think that if the race was a bit longer she would have won the race.

  • OMG ZENYATTA LOST NO NO NO WHAT HAPPEND THE GRATEST FILLY IN THE WORLD LOST

  • @koolkat11297 Not the greatest, never was! Not even the greatest mare - Goldikova is !The whole world agrees with me except for one or two American twats!

  • @postcardterry

Let me tell you somthing BITCH she is the gratest and all ways will be so fucking shut up you would not even know a grate race horse if thay run over you 1,000,000,000 times

  • @koolkat11297 you can`t spell koolkat! What school did you go to dude??

  • @postcardterry

And another thing fuck you fuck all your family and i shore more will agree with me saying she is the best then what you got to say that she is not sooo goooo fffuuucccckkkk your self bitch

  • @koolkat11297 You`re a hothead, not like a koolkat!Regarding me,I don`t have a family, never did, grew up in kid`s home in Trowbridge in the early 1960`s.Zenyatta is a great mare, but was beaten fair and square in the Breeders Cup!As a big mare, she was at a massive advantage because she was getting a weight allowance from horses/colts that were actually smaller than her.The British companies got it right when they offered 3.5 on her winning.Only wankers like you,Koolkat believed she was a certainty.

  • @postcardterry well i can see y you don't have a family who ever had you was better off leving you!!!!! and its non of your beeswax what school i went to and i never saed she was not beat fair it does not mater how good you are in this world at what you do someone is all ways going to be better but she would have won but its the mistake the jockey maed at the begining of the race he droped her back to far and then could not run her fast anuf at the end to win but she is a grate race horse

  • @postcardterry

and one more thing don't you ever call me a hothead agine. I am sorry for being mean but when it comes to horse racing and some one saying a good race horse is not i fight back you can blame that on my mom i got it from her. it does not just come to horse racing it comes to other things to but i like to what till some one says something to me i never go to them but what you sead about zenyatta is like saying to me the sky is not blue sorry agine

  • @postcardterry You are a moron to think Zen wouldnt dust Blames ass at a mile and a half in a match race with no traffic. Zen IS and always will be the best horse in that race...Secretariat even lost one race..you cant say the horse that beat him was the better horse now can you?On July 4, 1972, Secretariat finished fourth, beaten 1 1/4 lengths...little history lesson for ya...I'll be around if you need more

  • @205seeme I never said anything about a mile and a half twat ! Zenyatta never won! Proved she is not as good as you thought and you did your money! She had not even passed Blame fifty yards after the post because she was exhausted and Mike Smith beat the daylights out of her and she still never won. She is not the greatest and if a moron like you criticizes Blame, then by definition you are criticizing Zenyatta who Blame beat! You are a prat seeme now go and cry yourself to sleep twat!

  • @postcardterry if you watch closely...he fanned the crop more than he actually used it.I didnt lose any money on this race because I hit the trifecta box.Now go beat your meat somewhere if you can find that pathetic prick of yours with a mirror

  • @205seeme Seeme, you are a twat! Your first message to me was about something someone else said(presumably) and to verbally attack me over it proves your a twat! Give me your address twat and I will send you some hankies -then you can cry yourself to sleep twat!

  • @postcardterry

    you know, that's very insulting!

  • @RidingWithBarbaro556 No,it was well deserved! First of all,I won`t let anyone lie to win an argument and secondly,I have never criticized Zenyatta but always been objective.Zenyatta is Mike Tyson. She is a huge mare who is at a massive advantage when she runs in races against smaller horse - especially the colts who have to give her weight.Seeme is a moron who actually believes Zenyatta was unlucky - she was not!

  • @postcardterry blah blah blah...go away moron

  • @postcardterry bet Goldi wouldnt match race at 1 and 1/4 mile on dirt, synthetic, turf or across a walmart parking lot against Zen. You cant be the greatest mare of all time at a mile. You can only be the greatest mare to ever run the mile....thats what Goldi is and nobody is tryin to take that away from her. When you think of mares that may be better than Zenyatta..only one comes to my mind. ZARKAVA. and thats only if they match raced...just sayin. Zenyatta was a specialist @anything over 1 1/16

  • @205seeme Zenyatta wouldn't touch Sea the Stars at 1 mile, 1 Mile 1/4 or 1mile 1/2 the three distances he won Classics at. postcardterry, re earlier post I wasn't too clear that night, it was late. I was just reflecting taht Shergar was vastly underrated and he would have given zen a race. Sea The Stars would have done, as usual, just what was required at the 1 mile 1/4, at 1 mile 1/2 she would have needed wheels. it's all academic but 'greatest horse'? Sea The Stars, easy!

  • @kingsindiandefence We was talking MARES..not stallions dude...lmao...nobody (especially not me) said anything about Sea The Stars.I was talking about MARES

  • @205seeme Not so my friend. It began as a discussion about the merits of Zen relative to Blame (male) and soon we're hearing 'greatest of all time'; Secretariat, etc, get mentioned several times. STS Stars gets mentioned because the claim Zenyatta is the greatest of all time. Go through the whole thread, it's painful after a time, but you see it takes many twists and turns. Really it's about Blame BEAT Zenyatta.

  • @kingsindiandefence Look at my post...I said NOTHING about STS.I was discussing Greatest MARES. I was also discussing the FACT that Zenyatta was the best horse in this race. She was...the best horse dont always win but she was the best horse in this race.I said Zarkava,Zenyatta and Goldi(at a mile) are the best Mares to come along in a while.I'm discussing the greats of the last 5 years or so.I never said anything about the great Sea The Stars.STS accomplishments cant be argued with...

  • @kingsindiandefence I was only comparing(Zen to Secretariat) the fact that even great horses can lose one race.I never compared Zen with Sea The Stars. That moron said Goldi was the greatest mare.I said no Zarkava,Zenyatta and Goldi are the Greatest(meaning in recent years)...not of all time. You are NOT comprehending anything but that isnt a shock to me.When U.S race fans talk about the greatest racers we are generally talking bout U.S horses..I included Zarkava and Goldi because they deserve it

  • @205seeme Yeh, you making some comments about that but it appears you think the whole thread gravitates towards them. really it's about that one horse race and two horses. Typically it took a detour via 'zenyatta greatest horse of all time' type comments, diversified into breeding, Europe versus USA, type thing. Your comments are just one small part. Mine are just to assert that none of those horses would have touched STS and if you want great females Oh So sharp was above them both.

  • @kingsindiandefence Oh So Sharp, btw, was ridden by America's greatest racing export, Steve Cauthen, who compared her favourably with Triple Crown winner Affirmed. To talk about only about US horses in terms of 'greatness' is introspective. Like I said, some Amercian horses are truly great under American conditions, running around an oval. STS will be kept out when 'greatest horse' is kept out and that appeared several times in this thread.

  • @205seeme Yeh, it's not a shock to me either. when USA racing fans talk about racing they think it begins and ends there, run around tracks that roughly compare, left handed, flat, boring. No doubt some great horses are produced to meet those conditions but then you proceed to extend the measure universally. i wonder how many of those greats would have the versatility to act on the variety of tracks and underfoot conditions European horses meet.

  • @kingsindiandefence never heard of Oh so Sharp...I'll look it up:). Our horses came from Europe so I dont know why Europeans give our horses so much shit. Its not a pissin contest but it always ends up that way.I love horses and watching them race...track,surface Blah Blah..versitality and all that doesnt matter to me.I just enjoy watching something do what it loves to do...especially when they are great at it. Endless discussion but in the end we all love our favorites no matter where therefrom

  • @205seeme amen

  • @205seeme yeh, the origin was a thing that came earlier in the thread too. You're right + how I feel too. They're all great horses. It's just the 'Zenyatta greatest of all time' thing that opened debate way before I came. IMAO she wouldn't beat STS. Maybe she was the best around the US in last couple of years but hard to believe that no horse in US racing history wouldn't do what Blame did. I think versatility is important when we talk about all time greatness but that's just a point.

  • @205seeme just another point, when I came into the debate it was the other way around with Americans (I have lots of great online American friends) giving European horses crap; one of the reasons I replied. Really they should have been sticking to the Zenyatta, Rachel, Blame, angle, more contemporay and relevant. Same goes on here re history: STS, Mill Reef, Dancing Brave, Sir Ivor etc. someone wrote that the others were 'selling platers' compared to STS. that's how daft these things get.

  • @postcardterry Goldi is the greatest thing that ever ran a mile...but if you put Goldi against Zen at a mile and 1/4 ..Goldis ass is dusted. They cant even be put into the same argument because they are specialist at their preffered distance you moron

  • @205seeme Yes, in this mosaic of a discussion we've heard that one a few times abot Zen hammering Goldi at 1 1/4 . STS won at three distances but if we're sticking to great mares then I think Oh So Sharp was maybe a match for both. If we ran a test series of races from 1 mile, 1 mile 1/4, 1 mile 1/2, 1 mile 3/4, Oh So Sharp would clearly show herself to be the superior racehorse (mare).

  • @kingsindiandefence Seeme is a twat! He criticizes Blame so he is also knocking his beloved Zenyatta ,who is a mile down the greatest list. Sea The Stars never raced on dirt but had he enjoyed the surface,he would surely have destroyed Zenyatta. She could not quicken past Blame so she would have been destroyed by the horse most experts consider the most versatile and talented for years,Sea The Stars.205Seeme is just another uneducated bigot who tells lies to win arguments!

  • @postcardterry Nothing ive said is a lie....calling me twat..is that the best youve got? I guess I am what I eat;)

  • Congratulations to Zenyatta for winning HOTY award. Too bad for you Andy Beyer! You lost!

  • Finally, just due!! Zenyatta, 2010 HOY!!! I guess the Eclipse Voters thought her 2009 Classic victory was simply because it was on the pro-ride at Santa Anita. Although, you can tally up the # of G1 victories won by just the European horses alone in the 09' Classic. It equals more G1 win's than Rachel Alexandra's three field's of males. Then she comes back and falls back 20+ lengths off of the pace on conventional dirt. And loses by 6 inches to a colt that always dominated at CD. Simply amazing.

  • I think Zenyatta will get horse of the year. Even if she doesn't, it doesn't matter. Whether she gets it or not, people will still say that she's the best to come along in a long time. My hat is off to Blame though, but Zenyatta's a super horse.

  • OH PLEASE!

if the jockey had started her up like 2 seconds b4 she would of WON!

  • @xxcrystlecityxx

Uh yeah. She was gaining with every stride. Not hanging. He did not hold her off -- he lasted.

A 5 race career highlighted by a handy defeat in the JC gold cup.

I'll remember him for about one day after I throw up when his owners take the award.

  • @turncapp yeahhh......

  • focus on the 19 consecutive wins!

  • I'm still waiting for that movie, the movie of Zenyatta, starring Zenyatta. Not a ittle movie. A big movie. A magnificent movie. An inspiring movie. A movie worthy of its source & inspiration. Let's all just keep putting it out there.

  • they need a rematch! i KNOW zenyatta can beat him! they just need to have a maich race! they need to! i know zenyatta will win!

  • Mike should have stuck his crop out in front so they'd win. XD By a crop-end...

  • ZENYATTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • jesus people.... give Blame some credit.. he just beat the best mare ever....

  • Bunch of us old horse people in an oldtimer's bar sat back afterwards saying we would so NOT want to be her jockey (after the race).....he would be so FIRED...through our tears.

Zenyatta rocks, amen bbear!! And now I pray she throws a couple good ones, even just ONE really good one. Funny how she puts a lump in my throat. I wonder if anyone has weighed all the fan mail she has ever received. I will buy a ticket first day her movie comes out.

  • Of course it's british...

  • Zentatta best mare ever!!! Big red best colt ever!!!

  • i bawled sooo hard because of Blame winning!!! i was like, acctualy screaming "ZENYATTA! GO BABY GO GO GO!!!!!" and jumping up and down... but when the anouncer was like, "BLAME WON BY A HEAD" i stopped like, dead stopped, and bawled! well, she tryed her very best!

  • Zenyatta was by far the best.

  • I do want to see someone make a movie of Zenyatta's career & life. I want it to star her. In her racing retirement she will make a great movie star. She loves people. Loves to perform. Loves attention. If we all put it out there again & again, I believe it will happen.

  • and ur right shes no secretariat... she something more!

  • @jspice2323 She kind of reminds me of secretariat....always lagging in the back then come shooting from the back to win....lol...but their both great and would take either if I had the chance

  • its clearly noticable... zenyatta would win.... poor girl was way behind... and yet look at the ground she covered within seconds.... blame is a sham... I know i would pay the copy of Zenyatta!

  • ZENNYATTA = great horse... but she is no Secretariat

  • Even though She lost she will be remembered over Blame

She deserves horse of the year!! ZENNYATTA all the way

  • OVERRATED

  • @bbear1994

I agree with you. I have known Mike for a long time and NEVER seen him so ill after a race and now they will give HOTY to Blame.

No justice. But forget the stupid trophy that Claiborne will take and feel just.

Blame is a foot note. Zenyatta will be remembered.

  • @turncapp - Blame is a WONDERFUL Dirt Colt, and will be always remembered for BEATING Zenyatta, and winning Stephen Foster, and Whitney. Sorry for you, and MIKE. Blame is VERY deserving of HOTY, and SHOULD WIN.

  • @Nucleo85Torino

Blame is a puke. If he gets horse of the year he will be the worst handicap horse to receive such an honor.

What's on his resume? Oh, he beat Zenyatta. Who else "Quality Road"?? Who didn't beat him?

Sorry your logic doesn't work -- a diminishing half head doesn't spell 'super horse'. If so why didn't alphabet soup get the award when he beat Cigar?

But awards are like earnings and win streaks. They mean nothing.

  • Zenyatta should have won!!! Would have won a few seconds later. She was catching up so, so fast. A movie should be made of her life and career. Zenyatta should star in her own movie. She would be a great actress. The movie would make millions, billions, trillions. And it would bring even more attention to racing. Movie makers of the world. Race forward. Who will be the first to make this movie???

  • @joandobbie In a few seconds???If you think that was fast, look at Goldikova who went from fifth to two lengths clear in a matter of strides ,or Sea the Stars in the 2009 Arc De Triomphe

  • @postcardterry Goldi is a miler. If she can run on dirt she would just another Rachel Alexandra or Quality Road. Goldi would be back there with Quality Road sucking wind.

Please don't compare a miler to a champion router. That's an insult to true champion routers like Blame and Zenyatta.

  • @duhru4real I really don`t want to say it but really you are a complete empty head!By saying that you have just reckoned that ninety nine per cent of American dirt horses are just nothing.Did Secretariat run on grass??Come on,let`s see both sides of the story!! And what is a true router??In British English,a router is a wood machining tool

  • @postcardterry

....Secretariat did run on grass. And beat Canadian Horse of the Year -Kennedy Road- on his home ground in Toronto... By 8 lengths.

  • @queenluciaa - Yes this is True!. I am from there, and My father saw Secretariat at Woodbine in the late fall of 1973. He destroyed Kennedy Road, who was a Gorgeous colt. My pops told me that Red won with Absolute ease in the ugliest conditions. Big Red is still Tops!. Zenyatta HAS to be respected as the greatest mare ever, with Ruffian a close 2nd.

  • @queenluciaa Thanks Queen L,Then that makes Secretariat a great horse but not the best because Canada is not exactly France when it comes to racing.Did they cheat and give him a drug before the race? All forms of racing are great but the greatest performance on any surface ever was by a British gelding called Red Rum(murder spelt backwards)and he won the world`s greatest race three times and finished second twice in 5 runs.He had his own 33 rpm LP .Look up Red Rum on youtube.True Legend Rummy
