I agree with you. We got Eddie from a dog rescue center. His tail had already been cut off in a cruel practice called 'docking'.

He is now a happy healthy dog though, and is much loved.

my jack russell was scared of balloons. She loved everything that looked remotely like a ball (apple, puppet head, etc etc) except balloons, because she had one once and it popped... the sounds must have been frightening. Cool to see this one is not scared! The way your dog responds to the popped balloon is the way mine responded to snow balls that magically dissapeared :)

Aww.. Eddie's so cute. I also, got my JRT from a rescue center when he was about 4. He's 6-ish now (the rescue shelter owner wasn't sure how old he really was since he was abandoned). Buddy on the other hand... is terrified of balloons. (If you look in my slideshow of him there's one pic of him hiding from a balloon in the air.)

Yes we think so. But Jack Russells are a dog type rather than a dog breed. Eddie fits into the American class of JRs which have longer hair. We got him from a rescue center so we know nothing of his history. He really looks like an American Long Haired JRT though.

Thank you for your wonderful comment. Crufts dog show is on this week and my worry is that people will just rush out and buy a pure bred pedigree and not realise the work that goes into owning and looking after a dog.

I will say though, that bringing up a rescue dog is not easy. Eddie was difficult at first and still has issues but every day we laugh with him and are glad we saved him.
