how well does it hold in humidity?

i've been looking at a lot of videos and they all seem to be saying the crested gecko likes a hide that it can have a tight fit in, making it feel more secure. do you pad the inside of your coconut hide to simulate this?

they also sell them online.
but i dont know if all stores sell them.
