The gearbox was a Getrag 5 speed with reverse H pattern- 1st was left and back, 2nd forward was right, 3rd straight back ( where 4th would normally be ). This basically took 1st out of the equation for circuit racing ( after the start anyway ), where 2nd to 5th could be used more easily.

He was a great role model really. I've never been into Holden's for V8's but I've always respected Brock.

@pozzie1968 Makes it easier to go from 2nd to 3rd, which you do much more often than 1st to 2nd.

Brock was a natural. He could drive around just about any problems with his cars and still make it look like the car was 100% healthy.
Some drivers refuse to talk on racecam which is understandable but really, its no different from talking to the pit crew.
