I think that the reporter wasn't trying to say that kiss is gay or trying to put them down but what he meant was that shock rock was just starting and was becoming really big and that included wearing makeup and high heels or whatever so what he meant that it has some gay influence (not meaning gay in an offensive manner).

Filled with homosexual innuendo?! Just about all their songs are about banging chicks. During this time, many older macho guys with low self-confidence were pissed because rock bands such as "Kiss" were highly influential with kids, teens, and anyone else who didn't want to conform. "Kiss" were/are who they are and they(along with many other rock bands) were telling people to believe in themselves and have confidence in who you are. I'm a die hard kiss fan of 30 years and have spent thousands of dollars on them but I think that Paul is a little bi? Not just because he's a "he/she" or acts a little fiminine on stage or the Rocks Hard video . But if you read a lot of the Kiss books that are out there a lot of people that knew him closely do tell of Paul's homosexual tendencies. In the book Into the void Ace was quoted as saying that the band walked in on Paul getting a blow job from a male fan. Fans see what they want to.

In the early years Paul use to make some references to the "boys" in the audience too!!! Keeping with his personae as THE LOVER. Also the fact that Bill Aucoin (Manager) and Sean Delaney (Road Manager) were both gay. Sean taught them A LOT of the stage moves!!! Including Gene licking Aces neck!!! It was the MODE of the TIME!!! One of KISS' first ever interviews was for a gay publication called MANDATE, their manager (Bill Aucoin) and tour manager Sean Delaney were both gay, they bought some of those early outfits in the gay district in NYC, stage show very homo-erotic especially during the first three tours. Lots of Gene tonging Ace, etc. going on back then. Great to see this Parsippany footage surface...
