He's right about racism, it WILL be here forever, but not for the reasons he claims. And not all white people owned slaves. A lot of white people helped slaves escape, and it was a white president that set the slaves free. He and most other blacks forget those facts and why they still want to hold onto that bitterness is hard to understand. Yes, there's a lot of whites that don't like blacks, but there's more blacks that don't like whites. It's the ones like Mooney that instigate the anger

Yes, there are always exceptions to the rule, but the rule still stands and racism and hate was and is pervasive. Lincoln was about uniting a divided nation more so than abolition. Abolition was a by-product of victory. Blacks r 12% of the population. Your claims don't add up.

What's wrong with this picture? Whites have always been comfortable with Black people in either subservient or lower class positions.
When Black people get educated, get good jobs and live comfortably, whites are always threatened because these people are at a commensurate or near-commensurate level with them.
The sad reality is that whites need blacks to be on the bottom or near-bottom of American society in order for said society to run smoothly.
That's why racism is here to stay.
