WASTEGATES Control boost, they dont make it flutter. Neither does the actuator, that just has your preload set for the wastegate. This sound is just the compressor chopping the pressirised air as it flows backwards... It's ONLY bad for a turbo past 14psi anyway, and even then, it's not major. Dumpvalves are good for like 20psi+ all they do is make the turbo come on song quicker as it doesnt slow
There really is ALOT of people who 1, know nothing AT ALL and 2, pretend they're engine builders.
does it sound good? yes. is is good for your turbo? definetly not.and only a ricer noob would purposely do it to their car just for the sound KNOWING its bad for the engine.
It wasn't intentional the blow off valve had become stuck and wouldn't release the pressure correctly causing this.
I have a new blow off valve which has corrected this.
I put this on youtube so I could ask the gurus on a forum for the Focus RS to tell me if this sound was meant to happen, and as soon as they explained that it wasn't I was straight back to the garage to get the DV replaced :)

I stole that description from someone on a forum trying to describe the sound a wastegate makes. I think it's one of those sounds you either love or hate. I love it, sounds better than vrmmmmm thsssssss lol! imo anyway.
Oops, I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about then lol! if you go to putfile dot com (replace the dot with a . :) ) and search for "Fiesta RS Turbo Chatter" there's a car that sounds kinda the same but different maybe this it what it's supposed to sound like or maybe one of the guys from the RS forum could tell if this guys Dumpvalve isn't working either but its sounds different than your car kinda more of a tighter chattering sound.

Apparently it is and is due to the fact the DumpValve wasn't working :(
So had to swap it as can cause serious turbo damage.
I miss that sound now :(:(:( lol
