I started with one eye, then after probably a a thousand or so rounds ive switched to both eyes and shoot even better. It becomes much more natural and easy to get a sight pictureand realign after firing to shoot again.
@awakeanddangerous.... im just like you, but i just use my right eye. it doesn't effect it as much as you'd think. my girlfriend is the same way but it seems to effect her because she can't close her left eye to focus with her right, so she shoots with her dominant left eye by turning her head slightly to the right and aligning her left eye down the path of her right arm- aligning down the path of the sights. i hope that makes sense/helps!
That's what I do, just use my right eye. It works fine for rifle/pistol shooting, but I can't shoot skeet or trap to save my life. Might be a matter of practice, though.
Great tips again. Keep shooting. Another way to test is make a ring with your thumb and shooting finger. Hold it at arms length and with both eyes open, site thru the ring. Close one eye and if the ring is still on target, that is your domanant eye. Still,as you said, nothing beats actual trigger time. Thanks for all your insight.
Hesus lol, my first reaction when I saw u point that muzzle at camera (at me as a viewer) my first reaction was a quick second one =)) to move at left of my monitor and almost saying loud at u, to point it down LOL
You seem to be a experienced pistol person. Do you have any tips on how to sight in a pistol? Is there even such a thing? My pistol has a movable back open sight yet Ive no idea how to set it up.

I'm new to firearms, and I was wondering about cross eye dominant shooting rifles?

Very good info. Any advice for someone that is right-handed and left eye dominant?

Yeah practice i'm sure. Never tried skeet shooting. I don't plan on firing at aircraft or UFOs. : P

Thank you for the wonderful training reference, I can use this video to help novice shooters. Both eyes open is the only way to go!
