Hi there! My question is: Should I blindly follow your settings for cropping (20, 10, 20, 10), because all, or most, DVDs should be ripped like that, or is there a way to 'determine' the cropping-measurement on a movie? Great video you got here - Sorry for my defective english!

So, 800mb works for movies over two hours, but what about three hours? Just bump it up to 900mb? Or does the point of increasing it to 900 come before three hours?

LOL! Fail! They are also by different companies. One has a paid version to it whereas the other is completely free. And one has a few more options than the other.

While Xvid & DivX are both MPEG-4 standard codecs... DivX codec is proprietary software developed by DivX, Inc. and Xvid is free software distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License... so they are different. Just sayin'

OMG, wow..!!! I just tried this out with a Sherlock Holmes DVD, and it turned out realy awesome..!! I have 95% clarity in just 700 MB...!! Thanks a lot man, you rule..!!

u mean even on using predefined size 700MB??? maybe ur video is more than 3 hours.. didnt u notice the "use 800MB if more than 2H??" thats probably means that if the video goes like three hours or something then even the software cant compress it to 700MB and will expand it to higher size.. BTW don't use custom size option for making 700 MB rips.. use the predefined size option and fit in 1 CD

I don't know why, but everytime, my video comes larger then the set amount of megabytes.... Its not 700mb ..... they're usually about 1.2gb.... can someone help? Ive tried new and old way and sadly, neither work :/.

axxo is an uploader. its not "aXXo ripping" its just high quality ripping. don't add aXXo as a tag to your uploads becuase you obviously arent aXXo

I don't think kernel346 means to imply he's aXXo. kernel346 just wants to show people how to make HQ DivX rips using methods similar to aXXo's.

There are several videos and tutorials out there that show how to make HQ DivX rips like aXXo's, this is just one of many.

For a novice 'DVD to DivX' ripper who wants to learn how to make HQ rips, they obviously want to do it right, like aXXo would. aXXo is like a brand name in the ripping world. That's why his name is on the video, and tags.

As much as everyone else tried to put up a tutorial for Dvd ripping on the first few pages of google many missed showing that very important setting! FILE MODE!!! Select Files>Main Movie and File Splitting> None. I was going nuts in Auto Gordian trying to figure out how to get all the separate vob files in Input Files ... Damn... This tutorial works therefore you rock!

Have you done many rips since you followed this video? Are you happy with the quality of rips or have you found any better settings? I'm a "DVD to DivX" novice who want's to get started off right, in the settings department. I'm more of a DVD 9 to DVD 4 ripper myself as I like to backup all my DVD's, But now I want to back them all up to DivX.

nice guide m8, i was wondering if they are 700mb files they wont be full dvd quality, cos the file you get from dvd decrypter is way over a gb and if u change it to a mp4 format the qaulity is much better than aXXo's rips. Still nice to have them at 700mb.
