Nice tank mate. Excellent water quality. I think the drift wood breaks it up a bit and looks good. well done! check my 7ft discuss tank when your free. Thanks :)
Hey, very nice tank! I have a 75 gallon aquarium thats empty at the moment. I would like to do discus but im stuck on substrate, would u use gravel or sand? i cant make my mind up, sand looks good but hard to keep clean, and plants to stay. and gravel looks good too, but hard for discus to feed off the bottom. any help?
Wat filtration do you use?? pleas :) Need something that works for my tank. it is a 540Liter with Discus and a lot off other fish, and live plants. ?really need some advice . thanks
@macmac360 lol....stick....but i agree that a better looking piece of driftwood would definitely add to the beauty of your tank and show off the discus better.
How often do you change the water, how much at a time and what kind of filtration do you have? This tank will be my inspiration when setting up mine in my new home. Also, what kind of lighting do you have? This thing is perfect!!
I change the water about 2-3 times per month, about 30-35 percent every time. It has 2 filters, a Fluval 403 and a Fluval 305 that keep the water super clear. The tank also has a battery backup unit that will power the filters and heater for a long time in case the power goes out. It has a standard flourescent bulb that most tanks have, nothing extra for the plants, but it does get enough natural light as well. Thanks again for asking.
Thanks! I guess you could get it at Petco as Rachelater suggested but it might be cheaper to get it at a pool supply store. It is pool filter sand and I paid about $10 per 50 pounds, make sure to wash out the dust before putting in your tank.
Very nice

I like it. clear tank and clearly chill out fish. And I like the stick. Maybe few taller plants in the back would do good to it.

Nice tank.
I just started keeping discus.
Check out my updates tank.
U should get rid of that big stick tho
jordangothops23 2 years ago
the stick is necessary to help keep the PH low in the tank. Thanks for the compliment though.

Thanks for the compliment, I change the water about every 10-14 days, more in the summer because it get a bit of sunlight so the algae grows faster.
