download ea download mananger and use a previous account/create a new account and start sims3 from there then the patch/update won't freeze up and everything will work (it did for me)
Hello. How did you fixx your prob bout this? i have exactly same prob and downloaded ea download manager and i dont know how to use it to solve this prob
I had this problem, simply your disc is scratched so you need to clean/buff it at a store it cost about £5 ... Atleast you don't have to but a whole new game fir double the price;) sorry I couldn't help anymore!;Lx

I had the same problem. I just cleaned the disk and then blew out the disk holder cause it was hot, it began to work fine. Until I played it and my sister IMVU came up!
my game kept going back to the desktop every time I started playing in live mode, so I downloaded the game from the EA download manager, but the same is still happening. Does anyone know how to fix this? >.< I also tried to re-install my game, but I keep getting a crc error everytime -.-
I had this problem and have been trying to fix it for 48 hours now... well i went on to ea download manager it is downloading now and has about 60% to go.. is it normal i goes this slow?.. i will keep you updated if it works.
@NuppX did u ever find smth for that error code? if it s only that u cant save, then what u need to do is while u r playing, go to edit town and just continue without saving. then change smth there, e.g. change an empty residential lot to a community lot, then save your town and return to your game. from then on you can save as you wish and repeat the edit town thing whenever this happens.

oh so it's working now. well i am very happy for you. I am having problems of my own. When I click the sims 3 icon to bring up the launcher menu, it says that the launcher has stopped working and won't even bring it up. I called tech support and they sended me to a level two but my phone was dying by then. Still looking for solution. . .
@AngelGuide1 This is currently what has happened to my game! have you found any solution to it? i have reinstalled me game so many times with no beneficial effect.

and then u need the disk and install this

@ulol95 go to "my games" in the download manager/origin and (make sure your disc is in) and then open sims 3 from there
