  • I would love to see more. Please send me part 2. Where can I buy A Guide to the fair debt collections practices and legal forms

  • Hey tonya.. What Company did you go thro to get your secured credit card?

    -Jumoke

  • You can try Bank of America, Household Bank or Capital One. Capital One will probably give you a card without needing to secure it. They all have fees of about $59, but that's expected.

Like Tonya said, use the card each month. Here's a secret - NEVER SPEND MORE THAN 30% while you're trying to rebuild because it would look like you can't afford it.

  • super cool .please send me part 2 im a subscriber. and do a video on your sexy feet lol

  • My mom had and still has bad credit therefore she did nothing but help me create my own debit. Im gonna start paying my bills too Tonya but I really didn't destroy my credit buy my mom did. Thanks for posting this Tonya!

  • Ive missed payments with Dell and have to pay for the same computer for a long while. I really wanted to eliminate this debt altogether.

  • I'm 21 in college with a 6K limit, I know what I signed up for and pay it off, funny part is I never needed to prove I had a job (I didn't when I got it)!

  • good ass video this should be played in business classes for highschool seniors.

  • Wow! You are a blessing.

  • This was great!!! I'm glad I found your site

  • I love you and your videos.

  • i myself, used to work for a Fortune 500 Credit Card Company for about 4 years and I'll tell anyone......one option is to pay down your credit card for 6 MONTHS. that basically shows good faith, etc. right now, the one credit card I do have is @ 9.9% APR because of this method. also, just because u have a checking acct, doesn't mean to keep ALL of your money.......doesn't hurt to carry a few dollars with you.

    THANKS FOR THA TIPS TKO!

  • no need for me to watch this vid all the way thru! for those just entering college: if anything, get a PRE-PAID credit card! if u have any debt, save ur refund checks and pay off all debts!

  • Very informative and gives me hope...!! :-) Please share more videos.

  • OMG Tonya, I used to have awesome credit. It was high. Astronomically high. But I just destroyed it this past month, and I regret it after watching this video.

I've always used all my income to pay my credit cards (and nothing else because I hate cash), but now my debt is sky high and all these 0% APRs have consumed me.

That said, I'm considering frictional employment and cutting down to a class a semester. Credit is no joke.

  • What do you mean you destroyed your credit over the past month. There is HOPE. Email me and tell me what happened. YOu have time but you BETTER act fast!

    -TonyaTko

  • Ok, so maybe not destroyed, but my credit report is coming in soon and I'm guessing it's probably down to the 650-700 range.

I took advantage of all the 0%APR offers I got in the mail, maxed out one of them, opened up a credit account with Dell to order a new computer, which is maxed as well, and just recently went crazy with holiday shopping on my Target VISA - and we all know Target's APR is NOT low.

  • I did all this in one month, so I know my score's going to take a plunge. I'm not so worried about my score as much as I am worried about how I'm going pay all this off within the next year before my 0% APR period ends.

    Ughhhh!

  • OK, you've spiked my interest. Now, Pt1 has discussed things that I already know and do...I look forward to learning something new in the next two.

    From,

The WORST credit offender....the one that KNOWS BETTER, BUT STILL DOES THE WRONG THING!

  • Johammy? You are so funny! you can't possibly be the WORST credit offender. There is hope for everyone... Time heals ALL credit wounds ;o)

Besides, how could YOU be the worst, when I held that title... (if I swiped my card in the store the register would burst into flames!) But now, I get approved before the entire swipe is done and the sounds of harps and angels cry out into the air!

    TonyaTko

  • OMG....you are funnier!

Love the videos! You inspire me to do something more with my personal knowledge. I am in th einsurance industry so if you ever want to collaborate, let me know! (Insurance checks credit now too!)

    Take Care!

    ~Jo (hammy)

  • Very good video.

The insightful wisdom displayed here can help million of people.

I applaud you for a job well my Lady.

  • Yes girl yes I needed this advice cause I have worse credit I LOVE LOVE you for this!!!

  • I AM SUBSCRIBED! Hallelujah! thank you very much, great information to have out there.

  • AND such as fraudulent activity!

  • You can actually go to freecreditreport. com and get your free credit report once per year from EACH of the three credit reporting agencies. So basically you can get three free credit reports per year. I do this, so I know it's true. However, you'll have to pay about $5 - $8 to get your credit SCORE, but depending upon your situaiton you may want to pay that minimal amount and get the score.

  • You look very professional by the way!

  • Very informative! This is a commonplace problem that many people face. Straight out of high school, I was given a $5,000 credit card. I did ok with it(for the next 2 years) until I made an increasing number of purchases on very BIG items that I couldn't pay off in 30 days.

  • Even though the statutory limits for creditors

to go after you may be 3 years (or some other finite limit of time), these clowns can get the time reinstated! And there are investors who buy debts!!! Be wary of them.

  • Great video

But most of people don't have credit cards on YT

  • If you like the vid... see the button up there that says "Share" right next to favorites... Share the vid with everyone on your friendslist... YOu never know who might need it. Email it, whatever... Just get the word out there.

    -TonyaTko

  • I knew she was in debt. Going on all of these damn trips living in a one bedroom apartment.

  • EastAtlantaboy...sounds like you're just envious and haven't been further than...East Atlanta! ":) Always a good thing to leave the homies behind and see the world on your own. Not only will your eyes become open...but your mind also. And that'll make you a more well-rounded person. Try it out sometime. - yp

  • Wow! You guess it. Thanks for the great advice. The immature side of me thought it was funny, but I shouldn't of even commented.

  • Personally, I think it's an excellent choice. Maybe she keeps a small place for the FREEDOM of seeing the world. And why pay for a huge place you're going to be away from often. And of course, you KNOW we're all speculating terribly here, right?

  • Thank you for sending me this video, spokenlife!! :O) ((($2)))

  • great advise

  • I second that, I am impressed.. thanks.. I might just do that... I was thinking on switching banks, make a vid on what banks you think is good.. I think that is something people should know.. like pros and cons for that situation for that certain bank

  • i am so impressed
