Shane Carwin suffered a broken nose in that fight. Gonzaga simply got caught, it happens in the Heavyweight division. If they ever fight again Gonzaga could still have a chance.

That's an overly simplified version of the fight. What actually happened is Carwin got caught by a punch but was only slightly rocked, was taken down, but had no problem getting back to his feet against a top BJJ heavyweight. As soon as they got back to their feet, Carwin knocked out Gonzaga easily.

We do know this about Carwin, he can take a shot. That's the one thing we don't know about Brock yet, but he hasn't fought anyone with Shane's power.

We also know his ground game is solid, Gabe is a black belt in bjj, and couldn't mount him or control him on the ground.

I'm not going to say Carwin would destroy Lesnar, or vice versa, just saying it going to be one heck of a fight. Regardless of what happens in the Mir fight, UFC knows those two monsters will bring in quite the hefty ppv.

Perhaps it's Gabe that has a bit of a glass jaw, look at how Carwin hit him, almost falling back, not exactly a 100% follow through.
