This song reminds me of my grandmother, she died the day of my birthday. So every year on my birthday I have one big birthday party, then I go to the cemetery and visit her grave. This song was played at her funeral.

The heavy subject meaning behind the song’s lyrics relate to the multiple abortions that various girlfriends of singer Ben Bridwell had to receive during his years living in Seattle.
