"Wierny Ogrodnik" ukazuje NIESTETY fragment jakże bolesnej prawdy o krajach tzw.trzeciego świata,i jakże pięknie zakamuflowane"dobroczynne" gesty wielkich mocarstw.Ayub stworzył piękną i prostą muzykę,jest wielu równie wspaniałych wykonawców podobnego pokroju muzyki tj.Ismael Lo...itd.Ja już dawno odkryłem piękno w prostocie.... i cóż chcieć więcej.
@OqueEmusica I love this song...and I'm an American. Don't be so quick to judge. Not all Americans support the wars. I hate war and everything it stands for. I have donated time and money to funds and efforts for peace.
me gusta mucho la musica es muy dulce aunque de una dulzura amarga, vi la pelucila y me parecio una barbaridad yo le pongo 10 puntos , esu nna musica relajante inclusive.
to pengeralus, the instrument is a kalimba or thumb piano. it is known by other names such as mbira, karimba, likembe, mbila and more. hope that helps. you can buy them if you look in fair trade shops.
this is so beautiful, especially the instrument playing. it reminds me of an instrument my father had that i would play with when i was a child. it is a rectangular wooden block, hollowed out, with metal tines across the opening. you'd use your thumbs on it from what i remember, kind of like how people text now! lol, everything is a circle. does anyone know the name of that instrument? in the back of my mind i know the name, but not right now. i'd so appreciate if you know andreplied to this!
This song is so beautiful I am wondering if anyone knows what language this is and/or the interpretation of this song because I would love to know what he is saying, thanks!
@ooOleksandrAaa you are right on the translation. thats the Luo language, Luos live in western kenya from where Barrack Obamas father came from. enjoy!!
Wow that's really great, I am originally from Liberia my family came over to the states when I was 3 years old and my parents made an executive decision not to teach us their dialect while we were learning English in America, and I so wish they would have taught us their native tongue, so people especially young people who still speak their language is so intriguing to me. So what country and language is this song from?
@yzkweh1 Its great, wen i moved to the U.K in 2006 and ive always been proud to hold on to my african identity but its never too late to learn. I assure you...maybe one day you could learn if you go to liberia like for holidays or something. The language i speak is a Nilotic language called Dholuo same language sang on the video, widely spoken in the lake region of western kenya and is where i used 2 live. Im always learnin things abt my culture especially frm research.
The Head of the Home is standing in his BOMA (homestead) calling out to his children warning them that the rain is comeing they need to return the cattle home to be teathered and then shelter from the rain. it is satirical. metaphors. a warning to the people of impending danger the wealth needs to be gathered and secured and the people should shelter before the storm hits-
Such a beautiful song...I first heard it on the Putumayo Cd "Music from the coffee lands". I just love it. And the children in this video are gorgeous as well.
the religions are there. They have so mmany churches in the slum that I can't count them. And many of them are ruled by corrupted africans with no europeans involved. We have much guilt what is happening in Africa. But not all of it is our fault. It is time we make africa responsbile for itself.
such a bitter remark and -alas- mostly true. I did not forget Africa. It hurts me more then i can express in words seeing the most beautiful continent on Earth being ripped apart by corruption, war and disease. But WE can make a difference! We can demand from our governments to really DO something about humanitarian actions, not just words. WE can demand from our bank not to invest our money in weapon trades or landmine production. To name but a few examples...
ok on the debate of the language as to which this song is, its in my native luo tribe which is a nilotic dialect spoken in western kenya by a community that occupies the shores of lake victoria.
hey, thanks a lot to all of you guys, almost every comment is respectfull and educational. this is rare to see on youtube. Love to all. (sorry the bad english)
It is not quechua. The musician, Ayub Ogada, who sings that beautiful song, is from Quenia-Africa, so the language must be from there. Quechua is an anciant language from latin america. Someone made a slide show with images from South american people, so the confusion!
Thank you to Lelacsam & Safenectomia for correcting my mistake. One more detail, I wanted to point out, was that the QUECHUA language is dying because is no longer taught at schools in Latin America. When the Spaniards came to Latin America, they impose their language upon the native american tribes. Still, their language manage to survive. Nowadays, it's become a dying language.
I may be mistaken with the language in the song. But, I found somebody named CHAMALU, a South American native indian, of a Quechua ancestry. I thought that the song was sung in Quechua.
Should anybody know what language The Constant Gardener is being sung. Please, tell us all. We would appreciate it.
It is still spoken in Guatemala and parts of Bolivia and in all over The Andes. It used to be widely spoken by the native tribes of Central and South America before The Spaniards came to impose Spanish as the official language of Latin America.
Not to sound ignorant, but what language is this? I'm so very intrigued by different lifestyles, languages and cultures that it drives me to learn all i can about them. Thank you to anyone who can provide information

Literally: "People, do you hear me? The rain (storm) is coming, bring the cattle back home". Meaning: My people, prepare yourselves for the hard times that are ahead.
Context: African herdsmen would take their cattle out to look for pasture returning with them at the end of the day (or days even weeks). The language is called "Dho'luo" . The community that speaks it are called the "Luo" and live in East Africa: Southern Sudan, Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania. President Obama's father was a Luo.

"Auma do you hear what I say

Yaye the children
What is it that you think you do?
The rain is on it's way r
Return our cattle home. "

what do the lyrics mean?
szymonmlody1 3 years ago
it is something along the lines of:
The rain is coming, time to go home
wildlandfirewolf 3 years ago
it will eventually rain soon
mesheditor 3 years ago
Literally: "People, do you hear me? The rain (storm) is coming, bring the cattle back home". Meaning: My people, prepare yourselves for the hard times that are ahead.
Context: African herdsmen would take their cattle out to look for pasture returning with them at the end of the day (or days even weeks). The language is called "Dho'luo" . The community that speaks it are called the "Luo" and live in East Africa: Southern Sudan, Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania. President Obama's father was a Luo.
