  • Daaaamm memories. This is when I first started watching AD. So many nights of incomplete homework lolz

@NessSuccess all last wk they were playing brak & a few sealab episodes. But noe it's back to the new cra-....stuff. Lolz

  • I remember being so weirded out by these bumps back in the day, but the shows made them worth it. Nowadays they are vintage

  • I can remember the first time i ever saw adult swim, 2002 was 6 years old in january, i turned off shrek on vhs and turned to cartoon network too see the promo at :14 then eventually watched baby blues be4 i went to sleep. Damn i love my memory

  • @texmexman1 same here but I went to sleep watching home movies. <3 memories

  • I remember these bumps! Good times! Thanks for the upload! =D

  • I miss old adult swim so much....I am an old time viewer, and im only 17. So when old adult swim was around I was a little kid, but i still remember all of it and miss all of my favorite shows. the brak show, sealab 2021, home movies, :( it wont ever be the same.

  • I ALWAYS LOVE THIS SONG AND I LOVE TO TELL THE LIL KIDS IN THE POOL, "ADULT SWIM ! ALL KIDS OUT OF THE POOL!"

  • Okay im trying to find a song called Bouncer by Adult Swim..its old so thats probably why I can't find it..msg me with a link if you can!! thnkxx.

  • Been watching adult swim since it first aired on September 2 2001. I was only 11 then, lol . It bring back a lot of memories :)

  • It upsets me so much that every night the top rated shows are Family Guy, Family Guy, and Robot Chicken, almost every night. Venture Brothers is the only thing that brings me back to that station. Once it's gone, I'm done. It's only Boomerang and Science Channel after that.

  • I keep coming to this video!! Nothing like good ol times.

  • ha the old days i think the bumps made me to the unique jackass i am 2day; 19

  • 11 people dove in an empty pool

  • ima sue cartoon network fo taken dis off

  • oh god I promised myself I wouldn't cry *sniff*

  • Does the song at the beginning have a name?

  • @Frailend98 "Mambo Gallego" by Tito Puente.

  • why do AS bumps have too be so scary these days

  • Fuuuuuucck I remember falling asleep to hearing that.

  • why does adult swim come on during cartoon network they should put it on a different channel

  • @TheloudRooster exactly, they should have their own seperate channel

  • I used to watch this back in the 10th grade in bed before I'd doze off to go to school.

1:59 was usually the last thing I'd hear before turning the TV off :D

I miss the old lineup of Sealab, Inuyasha, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, Aqua Teen, Harvey Birdman, and Standalone Complex.

I think they royally screwed themselves when they chose Tim and Eric Awesome Show over Korgoth of Barbaria :/

  • I remember little of the senior citizens/swimming pool bumps, but I do remember the manuals a lot.

  • Ohhhh my god how I miss that!

  • old as fuck

  • jesus christ, has it really been ten years already?

  • This had a liquid television feel back in the day. Somethin u could smoke to and zone out on. Space ghost was perfect for this! Btw the little music in the bg is a song by tito puente mambo gallego.

  • I remember when I was like five and I saw all the old pool bumps and that meant it was my bedtime. As soon as I was old enough to stay up late I searched for that pool bump...and found the beauty that is [as]

  • @boobdude9 I remember seeing those old bumps, too, when I was like 7. Though in the summertime, I was able to stay up, so I remember the bumps vividly.

So I guess you could say I'm a long time viewer. :)

  • been watching adult swim since i was 7 im 16 now i miss these old bumps

  • @zimilize wow...

been watching since I was 17, now I'm 26. Good times.

  • @THEpillows100 I hear ya. I have two friends right now that I am very close to, otherwise I dont really have any. But to be honest with you, I would rather have two really close friends that I know very well then 15 friends that I am more of just aquantiences with and am not that close. And yeah, I have been told, make more friends but honestly nobody seems worthy of being friends with me. Haha, that probably sounds really arrogant and narcassitic but its true.

  • @metathus Its not arrogant, I agree with you since I feel the same way.

  • I remember these as a kid. It was always the part of CN that I remember occiasonally watching and had a feeling that if anyone caught me watching it, I'd be in DEEP SHIT!

  • @Rantincorporated HAHAHA Me Too..

  • Watching [Adult Swim] made me sooo much more diverse to the music genres I listen to

  • Watching Adult Swim for the first time was a rite of passage for kids back in the day.

  • @Jengirl92 kids still watch adult swim

  • @NCRRanger108 I don't doubt that. I was reminiscing about how cool and big of a deal it was when I was a kid, lol.

  • its breaks my heart to see cartoon network gone the way it has. cartoon network, I hope you're happy. I was a brand new freshman in high school, watching adult swim on one of the first holidays of the year, and it was so rare and precious back then, since it was on only twice a week. now its on every day and its full of mostly garbage. bring back the mature, serious anime, bring back the strong comedies. your whole network is watered down and its time to get back to your roots!

  • I used to stay up late when I was little and watch Adult Swim in hopes of seeing naked cartoons. I fucking love the little promos or commercial things for it; the background music just stuck with me... there's another I love more than this one, but I can't seem to find it. Anyways, AWESOME memories.

  • @THEpillows100 I feel the same way. Its like people are miserable as adults so they try to make everybody else miserable like them. I am fortunate to have a few friends who are like me and really laid back so it helps a bit. But yeah, its like once you become an a dult its as if its a license for everybody else to treat you like shit.

  • @THEpillows100 I think thats why alot of us love these old adult swim clips. Because it reminds us of a time when life was simple, yet we were all too stupid to realize how good we had it. I mean, I remember being 14 and sneaking around watching adult swim and getting caught by my parents every now and then. I had no responisbilities other than eating, sleeping, and school. No bills, loans, or other bullshit I have to deal with now. Life used to be so good, and I had no idea how good it was

  • I'm with you guys. The only good stuff they air now is The Venture Bros., The Boondocks, KOTH, and various animes like Bleach. Family Guy is alright in small doses. I think ATHF went downhill a while back, and I personally never cared for stuff like Squidbillies and Robot Chicken. They did end alot of their good shows like Space Ghost, Home Movies and Mission Hill for whatever reason. If they started making more clever shows like those again then I would become a regular viewer once more.

  • Haha, ya know what sucks? During the height of awesomeness for adult swim I would always have my parents tell me to go to bed at like 10 so I would have to sneak downstairs and watch it, resulting in me getting caught more than a few times. And now that I am 21 and can do whatever I please adult swim sucks now so I dont feel like watching it. I think alot of us commenting on here were kids whose parents kept telling them to go to bed during adult swims years of greatness.

  • @metathus you sir have just described my childhood

  • @KuroIchigoGal haha, I wish I could go back to 2001-2005 or so but remain this age so I could really appreciate adult swim at its greatest.

  • i used to stay up late at night and watch adult swim when i was kid mann

  • I feel the same way as you guys, I used to look forward to turning [as] on at the end of the night with my girlfriend and watch it all the way through. Now I just tevo one or two shows off it (considering there are only one or two shows I can stand watching anymore).

The good old days ended when they aired tim and eric for the first time. Before that I loved everything they played.

  • Now adult swim is looking like there's a weathered floss between them and Cartoonnetwork. Seriously, that little chicken thing with the rocket is unnecessary.

  • lol I was a kid back then, and i still remember these

  • lol i remember these

  • As weird as it may sound, the swimming pool bumps with the old people have always been my favs. O_o

I really miss the old shows. Brak, Sea Lab, oh Adult Swim you fail us now. ><

  • I remember back when I was 7 watching this and Space Ghost. I thought I was such a rebel.

  • Is it bad that as a kid i used to stay up to watch this? XD

  • @themonopolyman91 GO FUCK YOURSELF.....THIS IS LIKE THE LAST REMNANTS

OF MY CHILDHOOD LIKE THE LAST BIBLE IN THE BOOK OF ELI. GOT BETTER

LUCK,KID? GOOD FOR YOU. TAKE THAT FUCK SHIT SOMEWHERE ELSE.

  • poor adult swim :( why did it change i never knew why?

  • Oh jeez such a long time ago

  • memories..... i miss the good old days

  • god i miss these days sooooo much, i used to love hearing this song come on, it meant i was going to laugh for at least the next 2 hours!

  • Adultswim came out before 2001 I was born in 1988 and I remember seeing Space Ghost coast to coast when I was 7.

  • @Cj1932

space ghost coast 2 coast came out before adult swim.

adult swim came out are the same time as rush hour 2,game boy advance and gta3

and sgc2c came out in 1994 thus predating adult swim but it ended up on there with

    cartoon cartoon planet.

  • @zztopis2 NONONONONONONONONO. I watched these same bumps when I was 7 no matter what you want to call it was [ADULT SWIM]

  • @Cj1932

if you were 7 in 2001 that means you were born in 1994 and not 1988.

but what ever you say man.

  • GOD!!! I MISSED THAT SO MUCH!!! "All kids outta the pool!" ... God, thank you dude, that nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks. I was 9-years of age when Adult Swim first came on so I had no idea of the programming back then. My brother use to ... Uh... Reinforced the point that I wasn't suppose to be watching Adult Swim by restating the quote I wrote earlier. Adult Swim went down the drain, in my opinion, when it moved to Saturdays. If only originality was immortal... >__>"

  • I miss these old bumps.

  • Hey anyone remember that one bump where its talking about a band and how their van broke down on tour? If so what was that bands name.

  • these were the days i was young like 4 years old but now they do these clown kids and live action characters and rainbow faced old ladys that scare the crap out of some young viewers

  • haha damn, I remember when I was like 7 and I saw the guy telling the kids to get out of the pool, I was so confused. Then Home movies started playing and I was like "oh shit, I'm going to start staying up late now".

  • i thought i was so hardcore... when i was like 8-10 staying up to watch adult swim... i remember these bumps... and i remeber that weird robot that read the mature context disclaimer aloud

  • I remember these commercials and thinking "Whutttt? I dont get it @.@." Then Id be like "Yess! :D" When Yuyu Hakusho or Cowboy Beebop would come on XD. Also at such a young age, I didnt really know what my parents would do since the content was violent and not rly age appropriate? So I would quickly change the channel when they would enter the room LOL. But thinking about it now....being the grownups they are, they prob. dont even know the slightest lick about anime XD.

  • the guy on the megaphone brings back memories xDD

  • god i miss when futurama was the opening show and not american dad.

  • @candilion34 actually its king of the hill now

  • I Remember these!

  • Bring back memories...I remember I use to watch ATHF,Space Ghost, Cowboy Bebop, Sealab2021, and Gundam 0083 back in 2001-2002. Now they just show cartoons such as Family Guy, King of the Hill and American Dad. I could toon to FOX or anyother local channels to watch those shows what's the fun in that.

  • XD I remember these!

  • Yes, Adult Swim wasn't for Adults, the movers of Adult Swim were pre-teens and teens at the time. We were instrumental in reviving Family Guy, because of the success of the acquired reruns with Adult Swim. I miss it when it was like this, I remember watching it one night current times and they showed these old openings for like a minute, I was excited because I though they were back to that. But they weren't.

  • adult swim became crap around 2003 or 2004

  • guys missing old skool AS? come visit us at allkidsouttathepool(dot)com, watch anime and adult swim classics 24/7 streamed for free, don't forget to register and chat it up with fellow viewers

  • is that gouda?

  • i watched these as a kid, they were scary as fuck. i cant even remember the shows i watched that were equally scary as fuck, like home movies. all i do remember is watching dexter's lab or some shit and then these scary idents came and i was hooked forever :D

  • I remember the first airing of adult swim when I was little

  • I was 7 in 2001, I didn't watch Adult swim.. I played GTA 3 (banned younger then 18) instead :D

  • I grew up watching adlut swim. I watched it since I was like 7 or 6 and I'm 15 now. I still watch it but I miss this so much. They still show some of it now once in a while but still it isn't the same. =(

  • @QueenWolf12 Same :(

  • I remember seeing these bumps in between shows like Cowboy Bebop & Home Movies. I used to love the adult swim theme (played at the very beginning)

  • ive been watching this shit since i was 7 i may be 15 now but i grew up with this shit!

  • Ahhh memories!! I've been watching Adult Swim since fifth grade!! :)

  • anyone know the name of that beat starting at 3:10?? THX!!

  • I was in 2nd grade when I watched these bumps. Now I'm in high school. Lol, good times...good times.

  • Adult Swim needs there own channel.

  • It's funny.. I was about 8 or 9 when AS first debuted and the first show that I actually remember watching was Home Movies, and that was only when my mom would be asleep and I could switch the tv on without getting caught. LOL Even though I'm 18 now (which is the age that I should've been back then in order to watch AS) I still watch it from time to time, mostly for the anime though. :)

  • no longer will cartoon network be like this, and that's sad. i remember being in my early twenties and watching these cartoons. "the brak show," "space ghost coast to coast," "sealab 2021," "home movies," "harvey birdman" and "aqua teen" were the shit back in the day. now it's all mostly live-action crap. miss the old school days

  • @cjsdharma

those were adult swims best shows and always will be

the live- action crap i feel is not what adult swim is about. even cartoon networks daytime shows are live action! i guess its "live-action network" now

  • @PooButt3 To be totally fair, Tim and Eric is pretty damn funny.

  • @cjsdharma i miss flcl

  • @cjsdharma oh gosh home movies was classic...

    home movies>metalpocalypse just saying

  • @cjsdharma well i neva liked teh brak show it wasnt funny to me home movies i loved and harvey birdman idk y they ended it at least they still show Aqua Teen i don't mind the live action stuff on adult swim since its being promoted as a separate network but live action CN is crap the good thing is at least its down to 2 live action shows 2 bad they couldn't cancel those 2

  • @cjsdharma i couldn't have said it any better myself.

  • The glory days of Cartoon Network!!!

  • No Diving In A Empty Pool....

    No Diving.....

  • @jkrb05 4 Chan references.

    4chan.

  • ha, i remember the bumps starting at 3:05 lasted like 2 weeks before it switched over to the b&w style that remains today

  • what's the name of the song?

  • ive been watching adult swim since i was in first grade. man i miss these!!!! :(

  • OMG! I'm going to cry! I remember in my old aparment (I was 4) and I was in the cover with my sisters and I had a scraped knee and I was watching Sea Lab or The Brak Show. I remember thinking something but I forgot lol

  • @sailorsillystars oh god SEALAB!! :') u got me tearin now!

  • whats the song called that they bump in the beginning

  • You just took me back lol! I've been watching AS since it first aired in 2001(I was 14 years old then lol). I still love it now and I'm almost 24 years old lol! Thanks for the upload!

  • i was 11 when adult swim started, and was watching space ghost since i was a youngling... i am going to be a lifetime fan of adult swim.

  • I was just a kid when they announce adult swim was going to come on cartoon network and i pissed. Because i thought the shows that were going to appear were going to be stupid. Some were but i like family guy then i started to like anime...that's when i apperciated adult swim.

  • Aw man, this brings back good/repressed memories!

  • This was back when AS was only on Sundays. A year later they added a Saturday block just for anime then AS aired on Thursdays for people who missed the Sunday premiers. Finally around 2007 they did it all week. Now it's on every week starting at 9:00PM. It used to come on at 11:00PM then 10:00 and now 9:00

  • @mudkiprules4 hmmm i might be wrong but i thought thursdays came before saturdays did. i remember when saturdays first came on. either way im glad its everynight now

  • @OlAdam7 I think they might have both came out at the same time. I remember Adult Swim starting Saturdays for anime back in 2002

  • @OlAdam7 I know for a fact that Adult Swim didn't do Fridays until Cartoon Cartoon Fridays was canceled in late 2006 because I remember Cartoon Cartoons were on from 12am - 6am (like all the old shows plus Dragonball Z) I mostly remember stuff from 2004 and onward :D.

  • @mudkiprules4 that i remember for sure too. i also remember the promos it showed saying it would be on 7 days a week. but i sure do miss cartoon fridays =/ i remember most from 2005 and onward. i think back in in 03 and 04 i was getting caught staying up later than what i was suppose to and was watched more for those years to make sure i was in bed =p oh and sorry oladam7 is my other account forgot i was signed on it

  • @PooButt3 I remember all the bumpers from 3:08 and onward. Remember when Futurama was still on AS? I was like 6 when I first watched Adult Swim in 2002. I miss Fridays too but to be fair at that point it was going down the shitter with Fried Dynamite. That lasted what? 2 months not even. I was more of a Nicktoons kid all the way up till 2002. Adult Swim used the first bumper as the intro to Adult swim after the Parental warning from 2001 - 2003 when the logo changed and the bumpers got weirder.

  • The guy on the megaphone sounds like my gym teacher xD

  • This really brings back memories, i used to watch it back in the day all the time, then i kinda stopped, then i started smoking pot and began watching it again.

  • I found out about adultswim around 2005

  • i remember watching adult swim when i was like 9 and going up to my mom and saying "Mommy, what's a dildo?"

  • They aired Futurama on [adult swim] back then??

  • @BoogsterSU2

    Yes stupid.

  • @BoogsterSU2 it started Jan 12 2003

  • get rid of the watermark shit before you post a video. this coulda been so good.

  • I miss some of the cartoons that they used to air. Sealab and Harvey Birdman come to mind. Some of the anime was entertaining as well.

  • lmao completely forgot about this, mostly because I used to tape it on vhs and then would fast forward through the commercials, also I was like 9 lol

  • Im 18 nd i remember watchin this shit every fuckin saturday for anime and sunday for the funny shit. AS has a serious lack in good anime now.. Case closed lupin the 3rd outlaw star FLCL Inuyasha were the best ones they had.

  • I remember one day i was expecting 2 stoopid dogs and gumby and i brak and space ghost came on...I was highly upset but can i cry now or now..i miss the past

  • Adult Swim started in 2001 so the channel is only 9 years old

  • wow looks like i missed out on alot ive never had cable or sat in my house. parents where uptight about it for some reason

  • as much as i miss these original bumpers you have to admit adult swim has done a great job at keeping themselves fresh. they're by far the best network and have been since the early 00's. i don't like some of the shows on it today (especially hour long blocks of family guy or american dad) but as a whole they've given themselves a great personality with lots of depth, and they're just a tv broadcaster.

  • @5ch3nk yes i agree. im sastisfied with as these days

  • i stayed in the pool and pissed in it:)

  • Who ever would have thought that a senior swimming session would be so nostalgic

  • You guys just made me cry a lil......wow how time just flies by.

  • I loved that old AS bumper music.

ALL KIDS OUTTA DUH POOL. And there I was, a kid.

  • hahahaha man, old adult swim was sooooo funny and legit! i miss these bumps! but then again im not saying the bumps now adays aren't any good tho. gotta love [Adult Swim] no matter tho xD

  • No peeking, Betty.

  • most of these long time viewer comments are from people between like 14 and 20 years old, who back in 2001 were little kids. I think its funny because we were their first audience :-P An adult-oriented block aired at 10:00pm september 2nd, 2001 to millions of children expecting their regular sunday night cartoons. 9 years later, we're happy that we caught Home Movies instead of Scooby-Doo :-D

  • @themonopolyman91 haha perfectly said =p

  • @themonopolyman91 all butt me...(41) and proud of it...teehee

  • @themonopolyman91 Lol im 13 and ive been watching AS for 10 years!

Yep i remeber staying up late and watching this all night!

And i was soooo tired in the morning. :p

But it was sooo worth it! lol

  • Dude I was 7 when adult swim first came out and Ive been hooked since

  • @themonopolyman91 I first watched adult swim way back in 2002/2003. Now I teach kids who were 10 years old when I saw these promos. BTW home movies was great.

  • @themonopolyman91 LMAO I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING! I remember my first experience...I was told you turn off my t.v. at 8, but being the rebel I was (and still am) I faked it and turned it back on when everyone went to sleep..I was laying in bed, watching courage the cowardly dog. Then advertisements for Cowboy Bebop started playing, I figured I would go to sleep then. I ended up watching it, falling in LOVE and popped my late night tv viewing cherry :) CHEERS TO [AS] for the memories!!!

  • @themonopolyman91 I'm actually 15 and remember the exact day adult swim came out. It was a hella long time ago. Good times. Good times.

  • @themonopolyman91 so true man. I first saw AS in 2002 and I was just a little kid. Now I still watch it. It isn't as good but theirs still some pretty good shows.

  • Am I the only one who would just love it if they had the old people swimming as the bumps again?

  • @Zeokoz you are not alone sir

  • [Adult Swim] SOLD OUT...I Miss This...When All The Animes Were Really Animes,

    I Miss Lupin :(

  • lol I remember these bumps. I was only about 8 or 9 years old when AS first debuted and aired at 11 PM. I use to pretend that I was asleep so my mom wouldn't say anything and then when she went to bed I'd turn on the tv and watch AS. xD I guess I was introduced too early? lol I'm 17 now, but I still watch AS on Saturdays just to get my anime fix.

  • this puts in to perspective just a fraction of how adult swim has evolved over time

  • I remember randomly turning on the tv to cartoon network and finding this back in Sept 2001.... I remember I used to record shows on VHS back in those years to watch home movies and futurama, such good times.

  • Man, I remember these. I was too young to watch AS back then, but I remember staying up late to watch all of Toonami, and then these would show up, and I'd change the channel as fast as possible.

  • I miss the old Adult Swim. I'm 17. ):

  • dudeee, i would watch this as a kid,

    haha i thought i was a bad ass :]

    i miss the brak show.

  • whats the name of the song at :14?

  • @typicalday d-code

  • I remember this :') though I was but a kid, I use to think Adult Swim was adults did other activities such as swimming, while the kids watched "late night Cartoon Network" xD

But I still watch this today

I ALSO remember it use to say 14+ in the beginning, and I was about 12, then when I reached 14, it changed to 17+ now I'm 17 :)

  • @MrPacMan36 hahaha i to remember that and now IM 17
