  • Mighty and uplifting Music. Thanks a lot for sharing so wondrous Oberture .Alvarson

  • One of my favorite russian composers, beautiful music and a wonderful director

  • heavenly! Greetings from Estonia :)

  • If Ivan the Terrible could hear this he'd get married again just to hear the music! Way to go Rimsky (Or is it Nicholai - or Korsakov?) Whatever. Great performance of a stirring and exciting piece of classic Russian art.

  • @Tannenberg71410 His name is Николай Андреевич Римский-Корсаков. Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov. Nikolai - 1st name, Rimsky-Korsakov - 2nd name ("familiya"), Andreyevich - "otchestvo", the name of his father. From Russia with love.

  • Pletnev gives a neatly "classical" performance, very attractive, with a Mendelssohnian légéreté lightening the Russian darkness. A gorgeous piece to begin a fine opera!

  • Rarely staged outside of Russia, don’t miss the Royal Opera House’s first production of Rimsky-Koraskov’s tragic tale of Ivan the Terrible’s dark quest for a wife in The Tsar’s Bride. A highlight of the Season, it is a rare opportunity to see an operatic gem.

  • beautyful music and orchestration too

  • He looks like Gordon Freeman from Half Life 2!

  • Thanks!
