The playing in the video was all improvisation!! U've already beat up all the Taiwan's guitarist. I'm not bullshit u, it's definitely true, but I'm pretty curious about what's ur foundation of ur guitar playing.

@19880828Frank1 Thanks again, Frank. I've been a lucky guy that I had one of the best jazzguitarists of Holland for a teacher years ago, Wim Overgaauw (RIP) He taught jazzguitar at the musicacademy. And of course I like nowadays it to add some ideas of my own in my solos. You'll hear some pentatonic stuff, but you will always hear some harmonic minor-lines in this style over the dominant 7 chord (as the 5th chord in a minorprogression; in this case D7b9 I play D-mixolydian harmonic over it)

@8Musicminded There was no more space left to finish my line, Frank, so what I wanted to say was that I used D mixolydian harmonic minor over the D7b9 in the chordprogression. That's the same as G harmonic minor, but in this case I usually start the scale on a chordnote of the D7(b9). I prefer the third of the chord (F#) as a startingpoint, because it's a strong chordnote and it's the closest note to the G.

@8Musicminded Frank, I was speaking about D7b9, because first I thought I were referring to my other Gypsy-style video. In this case it is the A7b9 on wich I play A mixolydian harmonic minor.
