@hamneggwich Well to be fair I don't have much knowledge on Christianity and you seem to have a good point but what I've learnt from "Bagavad Gita", Buddha's books and generally from religious people (friends) is that you have to respect everything, even when it comes to small creatures because hate only results in violence. The only issue in Buddhism I've read about is that sexual abuse by monks in temples is often overlooked (I don't think it's common, but the case seems to be that temples don't answer to outside authorities and won't turn in abusers to the police). I do like some Buddhist philosophies. I'm a secular humanist, myself.
