@HSSB4EVER, no one is "Blaming Elmo", they're saying the creators of the show are predominantley Liberal, and are pushing an ideaology of low expectations from blacks & latinos.
@LibertyDownUnder It really doesn't make any sense though. Kids aren't going to make any sense of it either, and these people are really just idiots to think that. I mean lets be honest the reason that the media and Hollywood are on the left is because liberals are much smarter than conservatives as a whole. Great example of what happens when a Jew tries to play controlled opposition for the right. Can't mention that his tribe owns Hollywood or the doctrines of cultural marxism.
Hysterical. Sarah Palin failed because she's a failure. The media (including ALL media) gave her so much camera time, it was sickening. It was her fault she simply blew it and caused people to hate her. Obama got just as much airtime, but he was actually a substantive person who was a leader.
Bashir is a just another left-wing moron who, like his comrades Walters, Sawyer,etc.-- and most of the media -- will stop at nothing to deemphasize the Judeo-Christian values that have been the basis of American, (and European) society for thousands of years.. such as the basic belief that THE BIBLE is the word of God...that the life of a baby in the womb is sacred... and marriage is an institution that God made for men and women, not those who seek legitimacy for their perverse attractions.
Ok, so he's right about Hollywood being liberal..But it is one constant thing in the history of the world - there were ALWAYS rich people in power that were screwing the poor, disadvantaged masses. But also there was also this thing called the vox populi, the peoples voice expressed in the open or closed theaters that used satire and double meaning to express peoples true view of the corruption at the top.- and it was so ever since the beginnings of written history. Hollywood was always there!
I was waiting for some moment when the title of the video actually happened. All I saw and heard was some whiny bitch-boy struggle to articulate his tired little thesis. Brit 1, conservajew 0. Title fail.
The media was biased against Sarah Palin? He's kidding, right?
Sarah Palin has no one to blame but herself for what the media did to her. She walked into every interview and public statement unprepared, and she got torn apart. Attributing that to "Media bias" is an absolute joke.
@TheKitsuneBlue You said there was no media bias, then you say she deserved how the media treated her. First of all, it wasnt Sarah Palin running for president, it was John McCain, the POW Vietnam War Hero that was running for president. However if you want to compare Sarah Palin to the drunk Joe Biden be my guest, but I never saw a single tv show make fun of Joe Biden or his drunk youtube videos.
Does Bashir honestly believe that MSNBC wasn't behind Obama during the 2008 campaign? If he actually believes that MSNBC was impartial, then he has a few screws loose.
I would tell you to leave my country but it doesn't matter, no one watches your channel. youtube is the only reason anyone has ever heard of you. On second thought, get the fuck out of my country!!!!!!!!
I would tell you to leave my country but it doesn't matter, no one watches your channel. youtube is the only reason anyone has ever heard of you. On second thought, get the fuck out of my country!!!!!!!!
Bashir you are a despicable man. Where do you get the balls to claim the media is impartial while sitting at an MSNBC desk? I love how you began this interview with a contemptful condescending demeanor. But the second you realized this man's intelligence greatly exceded your own you changed tune to stop him debating circles around you.
The UK is the spiritual home of Reality TV - Idol, X-Factor, Hells Kitchen etc etc... its popularity has nothing whatsoever to do with liberal bias. Basically its cheap TV aimed at a young demographic that pulls in viewers in an era of greatly reduced viewing figures and advertising dollars. This guy is wrong at least on this point.
This is a joke right? The media (including the entertainment media) is owned by corporations and sells advertisers to relatively privileged audiences, advertisers like Procter and Gamble explicitly state if there's any kind of anti-corporate or anti-military "bias" they will pull funding.
What conservatives now call "bias" is attacking anything advocating basic human decency.
If you want bias look at Chomsky's and Parenti's treatment when they wrote books on media bias.
Uh no, things like not smacking your kid and tolerating others is basic human decency which is what conservatives see as "liberal" which is rather narrow anyway since last time I checked Sitcoms and Oprah don't talk about unions and the military budget.
But the point stands, no matter how much of a left-wing radical the executive is he can't mention things that hurt his own corporate and state interests.
@AndroidPolitician, If you look at Democratic controlled cities in the US, you'll find a lot more racial tension. So I don't agree with you that they are more tolerant to others, I think they use minorities as political tools, and try and sell them the idea that they are looked after.
Detroit and New Orleans & Detroit are examples of this.
Have a look at this one if you have some time: /watch?v=P1r-r6iLBEI
I mean tolerance in the general sense of the word not just with regards to race and the tension is mostly with racist policing.
Anyways the bigger point you seem to be avoiding is that's the only criticism, basic human things like giving kids self-esteem is what's attacked because there is no discussion of actual liberal issues like unions, single-payer etc. in the entertainment media.
@AndroidPolitician, "self esteem" is a catch phrase that's been used to encourage a sense of entitlement. Telling people they are awesome and that society owes them an endless amount of freebies without having to work too hard.
No it's been used to give kids self-esteem, it's conservatives that think it's a conspiracy to get kids to be wards of the state. Tolerant to who? Gee how about gays, immigrants, blacks etc. the only people they aren't tolerant to are the intolerant which makes sense given the functioning of an open society.
But I'll ask a third time, what makes entertainment so "liberal" in any way that's not just basic human decency?
And if you don't think young kids today have an exaggerated sense of entitlment, then I'm not sure what I can add.
Putting blacks and latinos in their own little boxes, community associations and housing projects is not 'decent', it's just plain wrong. It divides the community and encourages endless dependency.
You can have the last word again here. All I want to say is in the "Good intentions" video I sent you.
I don't recall Mr. Rogers talking about how he wants children to be wards of the state you conspiracy driven moron. So we should remove benefits and housing and let them starve to death? That's showing decency?
And here for a forth time:
You can't prove a single thing that's not basic social decency as proof for a "liberal bias."
Sitcoms and Oprah don't promote unions and single-payer.
@Creationcreed Exactly...I don't know why the uploader of this video says such a thing was happening. Also this show is over six months ago, Ben Shapiro is 27 years old a far cry from 20. I'd say the uploader is a little less than honest and forthcoming in how he uploads his/her videos and how he's informing those who are viewing his/her videos.
Martin Bashir wasn't humiliated, that's a false and misleading title, he was putting Ben in the hot seat like he does any controversial person, and trying to appear objective, even if he went awry doing so. No one was blushing.
he is speechless because he is stupefied at the topic of this piece.
Ben Shapiro is insane, and an incredibly guilty self hating gay man. I cannot wait until you are exposed in your gay sex scandal with a republican priest of some sort.
Fox News is not news. It's an echo chamber for xenophobs and people with borderline personality disorder. How did he humiliate Bashir. That last bit about Sesame Street was just absurd.
IDIOT. BASH** WHY DON'T YOU GTFO TELEVISION IN GENERAL? EVERYBODY HATES YOUR GUTS ANYWAY. UNDERCOVER MURDERER AND DECEIVING PERSON.I'M SURPRISED HE HASN'T QUIT BECAUSE OF SO MANY HATE MAIL/DEATH THREATS
@mikepiazza Brashir is a prissy little creep. He seems to have been educated in U.S. public schools, given his economic illiteracy.
But, apparently the "teachers" in Britain are equally Utopian and childish on matters economic and financial. No surprise--somb to tomb security will do that to AN ENTIRE COUNTRY--and it's happening here.
@kyleain .....ad hominem is one thing........being a prissy little creep is another. And that's what this pompous little Utopian is--a prissy little PC creep.
I dont see how bashir was humiliated here. By simply letting Shapiro talk, Shapiro seems to hurt his own case. Hes really grasping at straws here and it shows through. His ideas come across as sort of dumb. At least thats how it seemed to me.
This "left wing bias" myth is the most stupid lie that has somehow managed to live beyond its expiration date. As right-leaning as our electorate is in general, I just don't buy the idea that all this media is "liberal". It's sensational. Some TV shows might take that angle. But mainstream media is much like American politics: highly corporatist entities that serve the wishes of the highest bidder. That's why cable networks, not subject to FCC scrutiny, bow to advertisers often.
@LibertyDownUnder generally, entertainers taking a hardline toward any kind of political stance can cause some problems. The Dixie Chicks took a rather "tame" stance and met a HUGE backlash, for example.
@DrClaw77 ...you mean "highest bidder" like teacher's unions, SCIU, environmental Jeremiahs (HUNDREDS of groups with immense vote-buying budgets), whiney "civil rights" groups (innumerable), reproductive rights groups, the Burn Your Food Supply (methanol) lobby, the phony alternative power lobby, etc. etc. etc.
To hear people like you tell it, these interest groups aren't a factor. Or do you even know they exist? Don't embarrass yourself by saying their contributions are small.
@DrClaw77 "This "left wing bias" myth is the most stupid lie that has somehow managed to live beyond its expiration date." And lest that become another myth please give us your evidence for that pretentious claim. "As right-leaning as our electorate is in general, I just don't buy the idea that all this media is "liberal"." And who said it's "all liberal"?
@ShazamVanBane How about the fact that all mainstream media is owned by big corporations, and as it pertains to American broadcasting, are often at the mercy of advertisers (who are also big corporations) who will pull funding/support at the mere whiff of anything that offends beyond a certain threshold? The guy in this video is claiming that all this media has a liberal/left wing bias... which is false. If it were anything approaching truth, would "liberal" be a pejorative today?
@DrClaw77 hey didn't say "all", so you've said what is false. He's obviously not dumb enough to say all except figuratively. He said most or the majority, and is talking about the ones that dominate obviously, like CNN, Fox, CBS, ABC, the usuals. Also, big business is mostly composed of Catholics, Arminian Protestants and Masons, who have a common enemy: Calvinists and atheists and wild liberals. Big Biz panders to atheists and liberals to obtain their money for their own religions.
@kyleain ...that is a most interesting statement re: Catholics, Protestant denominations leaning Arminius' way, and Masons.........their common enemy being Calvinists, atheists and wild liberals.....
Would like to be directed to reading materials which would expand on that thesis.
I'm not being combative. You make an interesting point. Is there a book you would recommend?
@DrClaw77 ...(continued from my second response). SO, it's complicated, and it's not that Big Biz is necessarily liberal or all liberal, it's that they're afraid of being put in jail for discriminating against homosexuals, or getting huge fines, and also because they try in clever ways to outsmart their competition so that they can be the ones in control, and Calvinists are the main enemy, whether they clearly know that or not. I don't think they do, thanks to God's hindering Satan.

@DrClaw77 "Some TV shows might take that angle. But mainstream media is much like American politics: highly corporatist entities that serve the wishes of the highest bidder." AND THAT'S "RIGHT LEANING"? "The love of money is the root of all evil" not "...root of all evil of right wingers." GREED and bribery affects conservatives and liberals equally. "bow to advertisers often". You committed "begging the question": what's your evidence few advertisers support gays or abortion?
If you haven't noticed, creative people by and large lean Left. Further, people who write and put together shows in "the biz" don't usually draw together in the agricultural belt. Many of the craftspeople who'd otherwise be politically neutral basically go along to get along. The wheels are greased and people feel empowered when they're engaged with the stream of the social scene. While, an individual in this community isn't necessarily politically astute, a Rep could easily be ostracized .
How is bashir being owned, he just speaking really fast and nerdy. This is bullshit i agree that alot of tv shows are left but that because alot of writers are leftys( and long may it continue) but the children tv shows is just drivel. Dont like most shows being left watch fox news republicans
I think you have the title upside down. Shapiro sounds nervous and insecure while Bashir has a very monotone pace and is just asking questions. where did you get the impression that Bashir was being humiliated? Furthermore, if 24 is a conservative show that we can rest assure that conservatives are bigoted and narrow minded. Fox and Fox News are from the same company and they are pretty much polar opposites. Explain that one.
@controversyking Conservative values are keeping women barefoot and pregnant, worship the rich, intrude into the intimate life of people, star non-sense wars, kill those deemed inferior, and be scare of their own shadow, and lie in the name of Jeezuuz. People get conservative as they get older because of generational shifts. What used to be liberal isn't anymore. How dare you say that minorities were better off during Jim Crow or ever further to slavery times.
@CanalOmega, it's just a different approach about poverty, neither side is malicious.
- the left wants to make the poor comfortable.
- the right wants to get the poor out of poverty.
In the short term, obviously the left's approach is more humane. But in the long term more and more people are lured into dependency on welfare programs, affirmative action, food stamps, and so forth.
And as the problems get worse, there are calls for more of the same.
@LibertyDownUnder I completely agree that there should not be generations upon generations depending on welfare programs. What gets me about the right is that even programs that actually lift people out of poverty are deemed as bad. For instance, Pell Grant helps the poor get a college education which leads to a better job and subsequently the next generation would not need it. Head Star which helps working class people get childcare while they work. Long term as you said. better 50K in...
@LibertyDownUnder to be spent in educating someone and for them to get a decent job and pay taxes later on than do nothing and spend 100s of thousands in jails and prisons with able bodies wasting away because they felt they did not have a fare chance, short term spending, long term savings. Your own religion calls to teach people to fish(which I agree), but it looks that people in the right do not even see that as good and end up looking greedy and pompous(not you because I do not know you).
@LibertyDownUnder yes! it has lifted the black community out of poverty has has facilitated the highest rate of high school graduation among the poor and minorities. However, the last 15 years or so have devastated American education thanks to the left's worthless we all win attitude and the right's "war" against science and critical thinking. Overall, the proof exists since the signature of the civil right acts and the execution of the social policies of LBJ minority's status has improve
@LibertyDownUnder Two things about the video:1. He does not say that after desegregation whites fled those schools and move in throws to the suburbs leaving already poor blacks footing the bill. There is a relationship between wealthy suburbs and the quality of their public schools(+). 2. He also fails to say that he attended CSULA and UCLA which are state public schools. He did not attended any private institutions as a youth or as an adult. There is a disconnect between social causes and econo
@baldrad1 I admire your bold approach to an argument by setting the tone on personal attacks rather than provide a topic and initiate an argument providing evidence and support. But, what do I know, I was not taught in a basement by an stay-at-home parent that barely finished high school. I am one of those loons that read Socrates, Plato and Aristotle as well as Lock, Newton, Et Al. I am so delusional that the idea of a sky daddy makes me laugh!
@baldrad1 HAHAHAHAHAHA you are the one showcasing your superior home made education. I do not believe in Utopias, what am I a fundamentalist buffoon? I don't believe there is a sky savior to get rid of all evil and make a 1k year reign of peace. I believe in helping those in need and teach them to be independent and able to support themselves even if their parents did not have that chance.
@CanalOmega ...attended public schools in Canada and the U.S., just like you. However, I am disgusted with the preaching (yes, PREACHING) of Statist, Leftwing, PC conformity, courtesy of the teachers' unions. Read "Class Warfare" by Stephen Brill, and you will find an interesting perspective on this topic, namely that teachers' unions are the biggest problem we have in education. All politics aside, you can't get rid of a lousy or lazy teacher.
@baldrad1 I do not believe it is a right wing or left wing issue. It is a cultural issue. A goo intentioned system became abused. The origins of that system was to avoid that a brat would throw a temper tantrum and a teacher fired for it. It got out of hand that its true. However the decay in education is culturally endemic. The culture is too child centrism and sees discipline as a bad thing. Brats are untouchable(meaning you cannot even yell at them, not hit them, no corporal punishment)...
@baldrad1 ... for fear of a lawsuit by the brat's parents on the grounds of "mental abuse." Minimal things like detention are seen as something "negative" and there are no real consciousnesses for those who misbehave neither at home nor at school. We have to stop frivolous lawsuits and over reaction to isolated events so going school can transform into a productive activity and not just a place to go from 8to3.
@CanalOmega ...agree on your last several posts. Teachers' unions aside, I think a huge missing ingredient in education is involvement of the parents. Not just attending the occasional parent/teacher meetings--I'm talkin' 'bout parents getting involved w/ course material, fostering a climate of seriousness about current events (topics @ the dinner table and elsewhere) and requiring involvement in the community: cultural events and charitable causes.
@CanalOmega ....school choice is advantageous for minorities; teachers' unions fight it tooth and nail.
Our schools special in economic and financial illiteracy, courtesy of the teachers' unions, which delight in keeping their members in a perpetual state of Utopian bliss (ignorance) about such important topics, and steal giant sums from members' dues to promote Statist, pie-in-the-sky political candidates.
@baldrad1 Well yes, those are the "nonnegotiable" from the left as the right has overspending on defense and defense contractors. The US would save billions if contractors were fired and the Army et al would go back to do their own chores like it has been for the past 200 years. All are pies in the sky. Or tell me, how realistic are the fundamentalist christian's views of what America should be and stand for? Both sides use idiocy and ignorance as a tool. People that vote for a candidate's..
@baldrad1 religion rather than record or ideas is as absurd and laughable. Pure libertarianism, capitalism or any ism is absurd. Neither should it be all state controlled nor private. There should be a balance. We differ on where the line should be drawn. Or, would you like to have private streets and highways or even private armies or police?
@LibertyDownUnder ...CO goes on to explain what the Liberal Plantation has done to minority populations here, ignoring the fact that sixteen trillion has been blown maintaining the plantation.
Nothing upsets a Loon more than when somebody leaves the Plantation and makes it on their own.
LIBERALS keep women on the Liberal Plantation by encouraging Government as husband and father, breaking up homes (illigitimacy of 70% now--30% when LBJ put the big money into the Plantation).
LIBERALS invite government into every aspect of their lives--handouts carry a high price.
LIBERALS start as many nonsense wars as anybody else (Truman, LBJ).
LIBERALS are big proponents killing the unwanted (Margaret Sanger, PPH).
@baldrad1 Plantations? nobody is forcing this women as slave owners did to stay on those plantations. Nobody forced those people to make bad choices. Unless of course you are implying that blacks(because you are hiding it) are not intelligent enough. The right is the one intruding in our lives at every turn, the PATRIOT act was republican. The secret court system, indefinite detention for "suspicious" activity and even sex between a heterosexual couple is a crime in some jurisdictions.
@CanalOmega The PATRIOT act was made by a republican congress and signed by a republican president twice. The right wing is the one that in the present as well as in the past begin to persecute those deemed un-America, Joseph McCarthy, .Michelle O'Backman, et al. Obama renewed it which was a shame, but most of its origins were from the right.
@baldrad1 LBJ began Vietnam, yes. Bush peddle the Iraq war based on false evidence just like LBJ. Bush pushed intrusive policies in the name of safety. Where have you been in the last decade. Republicans politicized 9-11 to death telling people to buy duck tape to defend themselves against bio attacks and other fear peddling non-sense. The Tea party is scared because a back man is in the White House. Fear is the right's way to keep people in line, from terrorism to hell, fear.
@baldrad1 What about the so-called death panels Sara Palin was talking about, a complete lie. Most conspiracy theorist are either libertarian or conservative. Fear is trademarked by Karl Rove and company. "Oh the government is going to put chips in your brain..." nonsense all comes from the right. It is okay for you though for an insurance company(for profit institution) to kill you grandparents, parents or even yourself by denying benefits, but Zeus forbids the government wants to help.
Calling shows like "American Idol" and "Seasame Street" conservative and liberal doesn't make a lot of sense. Overall Shapiro is correct about liberal bias in entertainment, but I think he is under the false impression that every show fits into one of two boxes.
@crazy4corbinbleux Bashir just parrots the line that the political editor(s) @ MSNPC order him to. Bill Wolfe is one of them. He's probably a conservative,LOL. MSNPC is in business to make money, and there's a big market for pie-in-the-sky Utopian Loon drivel among those who can't do simple math----Liberals.
Liberals actually believe that if YOU have more then THEM, you must have stolen it FROM them. Big market for that kind of BS.
Unearned self esteem? This guy (Shapiro) is young and stupid. The reverse of this we should make children "earn" self esteem and argues with the 1 premise of a show created in 1960's as sign on today's liberal bias in the media. He was not even around to see how minorities were educated or see what expectations society had for Black and Hispanic children in 1950's-60's. Just one young, dumb, arrogant jackass for the "Right".
Ben Shapiro neglected one thing: Barack Obama can manage to give an interview. Sarah Palin made an extravagant show of ignorance in answer to very simple questions. This became known nationally and probably had an effect on the outcome of the election.
You could take this as evidence of a liberal media, or just that a vice-presidential candidate's tendency to blank out at crucial moments may be interesting to the voting public.
I believe that Bashir quickly realized he was sparring with a superior intellect, and refrained from the cheap smears he usually uses when interviewing conservatives. I have no problem with Martin in this interview ... but am very impressed with the IQ of this 20 yr-old. Ben is very sharp.
The mainstream media gave and still give Obama a pass on his gaffes.
Obama had a fundraiser at, terrorist, Bill Ayers home. Obama went to Rev Wright's church for 20 years... Chris Matthews got a thrill up his leg...
Dan Rather lost his job (eventually) for phony documents being used to try and report GWB as a draft dodger, while Bill Clinton got a deferment... Nothing wrong with what Clinton did, but they went after Bush for being in the Guard, and used forged documents to push a story.
at first I thought this guy was a moron, but I read his book, there is some truth to his argument. I have a friend who's trying to break into being an actress and has echoed some of his views.

But also there was also this thing called the vox populi, the peoples voice expressed in the open or closed theaters that used satire and double meaning to express peoples true view of the corruption at the top.- and it was so ever since the beginnings of written history. Hollywood was always there!

The media was biased against Sarah Palin? He's kidding, right?
Sarah Palin has no one to blame but herself for what the media did to her. She walked into every interview and public statement unprepared, and she got torn apart. Attributing that to "Media bias" is an absolute joke.
TheKitsuneBlue 1 month ago 2
@TheKitsuneBlue You said there was no media bias, then you say she deserved how the media treated her. First of all, it wasnt Sarah Palin running for president, it was John McCain, the POW Vietnam War Hero that was running for president. However if you want to compare Sarah Palin to the drunk Joe Biden be my guest, but I never saw a single tv show make fun of Joe Biden or his drunk youtube videos.

@LibertyDownUnder
AndroidPolitician 2 months ago
@AndroidPolitician, the left does like to claim a monopoly on 'human decency' when in actual fact they are the complete opposite.
In most media outlets, the executives are overwhelmingly Liberal and this is reflected in the content presented on most of them.
Conservative candidates are openly mocked in ways that no liberals are.

@LibertyDownUnder
AndroidPolitician 2 months ago
@AndroidPolitician, If you look at Democratic controlled cities in the US, you'll find a lot more racial tension. So I don't agree with you that they are more tolerant to others, I think they use minorities as political tools, and try and sell them the idea that they are looked after.
Detroit and New Orleans & Detroit are examples of this.
Have a look at this one if you have some time: /watch?v=P1r-r6iLBEI
Note the year it was made in. It's just tragic.
LibertyDownUnder 2 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder
AndroidPolitician 2 months ago
@AndroidPolitician, "self esteem" is a catch phrase that's been used to encourage a sense of entitlement. Telling people they are awesome and that society owes them an endless amount of freebies without having to work too hard.
An who are Liberals tolerant towards?
LibertyDownUnder 2 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder
AndroidPolitician 2 months ago
@AndroidPolitician, it's not a conspiracy, it's a tactic.
LibertyDownUnder 2 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder
AndroidPolitician 2 months ago
@AndroidPolitician, you fucking Liberals are more bigoted than the KKK, and are even worse.
You're selling this idea that you're moraly superior at the same time as your racist policies are wreaking havoc in the black community.
You choose to bury your head in the sand depite all the evidence in Detroit and New Orleans.

ShazamVanBane 2 months ago 2
@ShazamVanBane How about the fact that all mainstream media is owned by big corporations, and as it pertains to American broadcasting, are often at the mercy of advertisers (who are also big corporations) who will pull funding/support at the mere whiff of anything that offends beyond a certain threshold? The guy in this video is claiming that all this media has a liberal/left wing bias... which is false. If it were anything approaching truth, would "liberal" be a pejorative today?
DrClaw77 2 months ago
@DrClaw77 hey didn't say "all", so you've said what is false. He's obviously not dumb enough to say all except figuratively. He said most or the majority, and is talking about the ones that dominate obviously, like CNN, Fox, CBS, ABC, the usuals. Also, big business is mostly composed of Catholics, Arminian Protestants and Masons, who have a common enemy: Calvinists and atheists and wild liberals. Big Biz panders to atheists and liberals to obtain their money for their own religions.

How dare you say that minorities were better off during Jim Crow or ever further to slavery times.
CanalOmega 3 months ago
@CanalOmega, it's just a different approach about poverty, neither side is malicious.
- the left wants to make the poor comfortable.
- the right wants to get the poor out of poverty.
In the short term, obviously the left's approach is more humane. But in the long term more and more people are lured into dependency on welfare programs, affirmative action, food stamps, and so forth.
And as the problems get worse, there are calls for more of the same.
The poor need a hand up, not a hand out.
LibertyDownUnder 3 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder I completely agree that there should not be generations upon generations depending on welfare programs. What gets me about the right is that even programs that actually lift people out of poverty are deemed as bad. For instance, Pell Grant helps the poor get a college education which leads to a better job and subsequently the next generation would not need it. Head Star which helps working class people get childcare while they work. Long term as you said. better 50K in...
CanalOmega 3 months ago
@LibertyDownUnder to be spent in educating someone and for them to get a decent job and pay taxes later on than do nothing and spend 100s of thousands in jails and prisons with able bodies wasting away because they felt they did not have a fare chance, short term spending, long term savings. Your own religion calls to teach people to fish(which I agree), but it looks that people in the right do not even see that as good and end up looking greedy and pompous(not you because I do not know you).

All politics aside, you can't get rid of a lousy or lazy teacher.
baldrad1 2 months ago
@baldrad1 I do not believe it is a right wing or left wing issue. It is a cultural issue. A goo intentioned system became abused. The origins of that system was to avoid that a brat would throw a temper tantrum and a teacher fired for it. It got out of hand that its true. However the decay in education is culturally endemic. The culture is too child centrism and sees discipline as a bad thing. Brats are untouchable(meaning you cannot even yell at them, not hit them, no corporal punishment)...
CanalOmega 2 months ago
@baldrad1 ... for fear of a lawsuit by the brat's parents on the grounds of "mental abuse." Minimal things like detention are seen as something "negative" and there are no real consciousnesses for those who misbehave neither at home nor at school. We have to stop frivolous lawsuits and over reaction to isolated events so going school can transform into a productive activity and not just a place to go from 8to3.
CanalOmega 2 months ago
@CanalOmega ...agree on your last several posts. Teachers' unions aside, I think a huge missing ingredient in education is involvement of the parents. Not just attending the occasional parent/teacher meetings--I'm talkin' 'bout parents getting involved w/ course material, fostering a climate of seriousness about current events (topics @ the dinner table and elsewhere) and requiring involvement in the community: cultural events and charitable causes.
...big help to the teacher.
baldrad1 2 months ago
@CanalOmega ....school choice is advantageous for minorities; teachers' unions fight it tooth and nail.
Our schools special in economic and financial illiteracy, courtesy of the teachers' unions, which delight in keeping their members in a perpetual state of Utopian bliss (ignorance) about such important topics, and steal giant sums from members' dues to promote Statist, pie-in-the-sky political candidates.
baldrad1 2 months ago
@baldrad1 Well yes, those are the "nonnegotiable" from the left as the right has overspending on defense and defense contractors. Or tell me, how realistic are the fundamentalist christian's views of what America should be and stand for? Both sides use idiocy and ignorance as a tool. People that vote for a candidate's..

Calling shows like "American Idol" and "Seasame Street" conservative and liberal doesn't make a lot of sense. Overall Shapiro is correct about liberal bias in entertainment, but I think he is under the false impression that every show fits into one of two boxes.

WHERE CAN I CONTACT THIS EVIL HYPOCRITE, MARTIN BASHIR? Or better yet, CONTACT THIS TELEVISION PROGRAM TO FIRE THIS GREEDY TWAT!!

@eboyd909 ....school choice works to the advantage of minorities. Why are so many Lefties against school choice. Doesn't make sense.....

It's not hard to humiliate a moron with a fake accent pretending to be a journalist

@TheRightThinker ....c'mon--Bashir's a news analist.....
baldrad1 2 months ago

@bman546 well, Obama actually buhleeves there's 57 states. It wasn't a gaffe....

Shapiro's Argument:
1. Everything that I disagree with is Liberal Bias
2. I disagree with a lot of what is on American TV
3. American TV has a Liberal Bias
