  • I'm with you!! The sonar vintage ch is perfectly fine !!! Remember the end listener isn't going to say oh hell this wasn't mastered with wav plug in's hahaha. you can get great masters from sonar alone. the vintage ch is very similar. dont worry about the latest /greatest concentrate on your music.no software is going to be able to polish a turd.i use sonar 6 producer and its fine!!

  • if yall want free waves i'll give em 2 u

  • Waves is dope i have Waves and a lot of stuff ...

... you should watch my Studio Video's ...

When I Bought Pro tools there was no need for my Sonar any more. i still use my plug-ins thou . .

I Record Vocals and Master in Pro Tools .

Make Beats in FL Studio Rewiring Reason and Ableton and using my Mpc and Triton as midi controllers ...

    4 screens , kp3 , analog Behringer mixer (12ch - 4 band E.Q & built in F.x)

You know a lot about Reaktor 5 ! i use that to and i use usine

  • @JSprayaEntertainment Thats a nice setup. I have seen usine but, Need really got into it. You are right pro tools is good. No doubt. I now really just make beats. I can record, mix and master tracks but, my main focus is making beats. I do that in my Korg M3 now. From start to finish. I rarely use my sonar and vst for beats anymore

  • I suggest you do an A/B blind test of an emulation with the real thing, repeated 5 times in a row, and see if u can really identify which is real and which is the emulation!

  • I agree. That would be cool. A lot of things you don't have to actually test. You use your common sense. Do I think its impossible to copy those mixing gear. Near impossible. Anything is possible but, same exactly the same? Naaw. Now if its close and not exact. That's not a real bad thing. Like I said in the video.

  • @maltcus I REALLY wasn't going to bother you anymore since my last comment on your other video, however, there is an important thing you keep saying that I'm gonna tap on: "It doesn't make sense". It just doesn't make sense to you. Large companies like Neve, Manley, etc don't have such a problem with this because they can sell their stuff to people like us who don't have the room for all this gear...or money. UAD does an awesome job. I know, I have both Cakewalk and UAD2. It was worth the $

  • @jawsrock1 I agree the UAD cards are great.

  • The waves plug-ins sound good but, if you already have a set of good plug ins. Then should you spend hundreds or thousands on these plug ins. Then you have to say am I making the kind of money off my music that would excuse me to spend that kind of money.

  • what about the mixing board in propellerhead's Record? supposed to be a software model of the SSL board, and only what, like $250 or something? I wonder if it sounds anything like it . . . anyone tried it and can offer a comparison to Sonar or Waves? thanks

  • Honestly no software is going to sound like the SSL boards. If they do then Solid State is in trouble. They may have similar character but, to think its going to sound like you are using a SSL naaaw. I think companies need to just make good gear and stop trying to mimic shit.

  • I see what you mean. Thanks for your reply.

I guess it's like the difference between a real tube amp (like Fender Twin) and like Guitar Rig or Amplitube. Tthough I gotta admit that I've been fooled a few times into thinking that someone was playing guitar with a real tube amp, but he was actually playing on an amp simulator software (guitar rig 3)! But he was an amateur - if I was listening to a professional recording I guess I'd have noticed. the difference.

  • Now yes guitar rig sounds really good. I am not big on guitars and would not know the difference between the amp sims and a real amp. I think that there would be a difference. Not that the Guitar rig sound bad just different. Just like VSTs synths. You can here the difference in VST and analog synths.

  • Hi there, here is the deal. These plugins are emulation of the real thing, and yes they are not EXACTLY the same thing as the original but they're so closely emulated that you can't hear the difference between the real thing and the emulation.

I think you the need to get over the price point of waves products, they make some of the best emulation out there today, and there are other less expensive options too.

  • WAVES plug-ins are a piece of shit period and are charlatans , They NEVER do anything original, Most of their new products are based on impulse convolution based with a new GUI for the technically inclined and are expensive! They are milking everyone

  • yes I agree! I glad u pointed it out. Its about the money. That's why they get put out there so they can get the high end and low end money but you will not get the same sound. Sorry

  • yes sir I did, I started with Gold and loved it, so I upgraded to Platinum and I couldn't be happier. Everyone I'm working with loves them as well.

  • I pitied IK Multimedia Vintage Compressor/Limiter 670 against Waves L3-LL Ultramaximizer. Waves won, the sound was Fuller & Richer. I'm listening through Event PS8s so I can hear the difference. Plugins are not the same. listen to both on good monitors before you knock them.

  • no i am not knocking waves. As I said in the video they sound good. Also I said in the video if waves is better is it that much better? And yes the sonar plug ins are good. I just can't see myself putting that much out on plug ins that don't put out that much more then what I am using. Well the question is this. Did you pay for these plug ins?

  • Calkwalk is owned by Roland, makers of fine gear. I have a roland 2080 myself. But lets be real, they don't dedicate there whole company in the research of making plugins. Waves make three pieces of hardware, MaxxBCL, MaxxBass 102 & 107, yet they still sell a plugin called MaxxBass that does the same thing as there hardware. If I could afford a $30,000SSL I would. But most can't, and they know it, hence plugins. I you had the cash I'd buy both. When you want the best you'll pay for it.

  • If SSL said no to Waves using their name, Waves would just drop the SSL name for legal reasons but still emulate the sound and sell the plugins regardless

and say something like "inspired by"...

Those Waves SSL4000 plugins are dope. I'd hate to

be without them. (I'm on Logic and PTLE, not Sonar.)

  • Like I said in the video some people swear by them. They do sound good but, the goal is to get the SSL sound and there's no way to do that. So that being said if I have already a good sounding plug in do I spend $750. The only way it would be worth it if I got the sounds of a SSL board.
