Sorry, but the awful sound quality of this recording does no justice to the effort you apparently put into learning the piece. It sounds terrible, I can't tell if the interpretation is good at all through the splashy sound and that orchestra part you have playing in the background. It is a waste to play this on a Steinway grand if you are using a crappy camcorder microphone to record it. If you are going to spend so much time on learning Rachmaninov's 3rd, at least buy a half-decent microphone.
hey, biochemiker! you are really amazing! I always thought that Rach3 was unplayable for an amateur - now I am going to try it. You made me want to do it. >Thank you for that!
My friend, im sure it will be quite a while before you get the 3rd movement up. I'm also sure you will be sick of playing this once thats done. However consider this: sometime in your lifetime when ur ready, you should highly consider playing this with a full orchestra. There may be only a couple (less than 5) people on this planet that have taught themselves the whole rach 3 and consider the piano a 'hobby'....(continued below)
I bet you could make big headlines around the music world if you performed this and everybody found out you learned this by yourself and don't even play piano 'professionally'. Your playing throughout is brilliant, this is an extraordinary accomplishment, and I'm excited to hear the wicked, insane, pain-grinding, gut-wrenching, nail biting, last movement!!
Haha... thanks so much for your long and descriptional comment. I liked how you described the last movement, hehe. I still have some pages to memorize before I put the last movement on youtube. I will let you know.
outstanding job. Cannot imagine how much time this took you to memorize, being a pianist as well I know how much time it can take and how frustrating it can me, but the personal rewards as worth the effort. You really have excellent technique. Where did you study and for how long?
Hi, you are very kind for giving me so good comments:) You mean, where I practiced the piano??? Because I don't study piano, as its only my hobby. But I practiced mostly at the conservatory, where they have lots of pianos to choose haha...I think I spend around 2 years practising this piece now.
well from one hobbyist pianist to another, that is an amazing accomplishment. Cannot wait to hear the 3rd movement now :) I am working on another Beethoven Sonata Op27, No.1. The 3rd movement is a beast as well. Really chucked on the last two bloopers, they were great..
take your time, man.I want to see you playing the last mouvement, but i think that the full concerto is the beast. And the best. After this, u should play at carnegie hall with a full orchestra!!!!!!
Johnny, The two parts of this movement are so awesome!!! To say "there are insanely many notes to play" is an understatement. Thanks for sharing!!! Tom
one can die from a heart attack playing this, jeje, pretty good playing, man, i wonder when r u gonna post the 3rd mouvement.,....how does feel playing this monster?
Ohhhhh, Im glad you asked this question, because my answer to that is you really get high blood pressure when playing the last movement, especially the ending:)
Excellent as always. Nice to be one of the first listeners too! It does look like you're having fun, and I can understand, I'm a pianist as well, and it can be epic playing a song you like.
