This was bad for us here in our province, but compared to what the people in Japan are going thropugh right now, this was child's play. Thank God, we don't have any nuclear power reactors in NL
@capitals8carlyy there was 1 elderly man killed during the storm when the road beneath him gave way and the rough seas too him and his truck out to sea! In the community of Random Island!
@underfootthekitty my god! i am now realizing the amount of Damage that our province has suffered, I too deeply feel for the people that lost everthing including there homes, total destruction, communities cut off, roads washed out, power still not avaiable for 3000+ folks. My heart goes out to these people, it truely does!
@DanceWithSam the goverment are doing the best they can based on the wide spread damage, and regards to the HOLES you are in as you say, these folks are also doing the best they can, it is NOT the fault of the COMMUNITIES nor our GOVERMENT of what happened, everyone is doing the best that they can, if i could help those folks i certinally would and well! If they need help,i am here.... these towns are NOT holes, these are folks HOMES!
@videosofNfld: Don't pay attention to stupid remarks! I think newfs are the best and although I am sorry for the mess of Igor, God knows how resislient you guys are up there at Canada's land's end...the rest of us couldn't handle it, eh!
Wow I'm living in New Jersey these days...I just moved last fall.....I heard about the hurricane and talked to my family but there is nothing like seeing the footage you have here. Holy god! I don't recall ever seeing that many trees uprooted that bad in my lifetime..or the flooding in town to be that bad...not in my memory anyhow...and i'm 27!
@neverlandbrats yeaj it was pretty bad in some places, city council were saying that Bowing park was hit pretty hard with the all the flooding and trees uprooted, i might take a walk in there over the weekend and have a look!
@OleTrout Thanks for that, i am always out looking for something to video, but this time is is something we certinally did not need, now Enviroment Canada is saying we have another Hurricane moving our way! Hurricane LISA! thats all we need, another storm.
@JaySGH WELL I ASKED MY HUSBAND IF I COULD ANSWER THIS ONE.
FIRST OF ALL IT IS A SICK REMARK THAT YOU MADE AND ACTUALLY A STUPID ONE TOO.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS KIND OF THING HAPPENS ALL OVER THE WORLD, THERE IS A LOT WORSE THINGS HAPPENING IN OTHER PLACES OF THE WORLD THAN WHAT WE HAD WITH HURRICANE IGOR. IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE BELIEVE IT OR NOT.
I DONT CARE ABOUT YOU CALLING US NEWFIES AT ALL BUT IN CASE YOU HAVE NOT LEARNED IT GROWING UP, IF YOU HAVE GROWN UP, THAT GOD DO NOT HATE ANYONE.
@JaySGH what a surprise, clicked on your name and up pops 3 stoned guys.explains your stupid comment.just becuase your head is in the clouds dont mean you can speaak for god.nflds are great people.
My mom has been put on 12-Hour Notice, she is a Medi-vac Flight Nurse at CFB Trenton. It rests on weather the guys above her decide to send help from Trenton or not, but in my opinion you guys deffinately need all the help you can get
@criticalcaleb yup, it was, the fisrt couple of clips i was out in the thing for a walk, yup i said a WALK... i must have NUTS!! it was in the full height of the wind too... at one point i could not even walk with the strong winds.
@VideosOfNewfoundland Thankyou sir...I have it now. Do you know where I could find the lyrics too? I write lyrics myself and would like to have a copy of what is being said. How did you ever find this music? You certainly are talented. :-)
@rescul2418 Thanks for that! for the first couple of videos i took my life into my own hands to get that, the poles where rocking back and forth, trees moving the ground under there own weight, i was very unnerving! I walked on the other side of the road away from that pole line.
Great video as always from yourself sir. I knew as I sat here in the UK lastnight, that I would wake to one of your videos and I have to say that you've delivered again. You got some nice shots and captured some of the horror that's been brought to the island. Thanks for shareing 5* 5*
@VideosOfNewfoundland I got a feeling our next encounter is gonna be this winter. Not sure exactly what...but i got a feeling it's gonna be something very big and unlike anything we've ever seen before. Maybe i'm just hyped up too much about 2012 but...we'll see.
Awesome footage! The Burin and Bonavista Penninsulas including Clarenville got way more rain and there was more roads washed out but the St.Johns area appears to have gotten higher winds as there were more huge trees uplifted.
@TheUnforgiven2012 we got around 136kph NE winds yesterday, but it lasted only about 2 hours, the trees tell the sad story. some of there trees were over 100years old. :-(
Thanks for the video. Called my parents earlier and they didn't get hit as bad as other places. Pretty sheltered where they are from the wind. Good to see you survived.
i had 7 trees in my backyard only 2 servived! and it tore donw my fence, lol
