Death, merely The Bridge to Be Crossed if you Choose to Sustain.. you In ? or Do you Fade End Decay.. if your Choice is Not to Decide.. Your Choice IS Made.
Friends took me to a concert of theirs in 1982, when they would advertise themselves as "Soft White Underbelly" so as not to get swamped before they had large venues lined up, sort of tuning up the road show. We drove to the Soap Factory in Staten Island (?) and literally leaned on the band's stage speakers at the edge of the stage. I was pissed because they wouldn't play this in concert because they wouldn't tour with the kettle drums.
I first heard this song in "Heavy Metal." I always wanted to know what it was and who wrote it, and when I watched it with my brother he pointed it out immediately. I am now a huge Blue Oyster Cult fan and this is easily my favourite song of theirs.
are there 2 versions of this song i think this has more crisp vocals an a bit more reverb -it sounds way better .....but it could be the bad audio quality musicly they sound the same...
I think this is the best song of the '80's BOC material. It captures so much feelings of weariness that they were all feeling at this point in their career and that of so many people in the world from, bad relationships, drug abuse, wars, and societal discord.
i'm a 17 year old girl that is a blue oyster cult freak! and so is my 5 year old sister. went to my first b.o.c. show when i was in the 5th grade and had the chicken pox and though it was posion ivy=]. i've met them 2 times and they are amazing.

Not a Satanic cross: Artwork produced for BOC by a graphic artist friend. It then became the Icon for the group. lamavet hit is right: Alchemist symbiol for lead and Saturn!
It has also been used as a mark on the head of one of the characters in the manga: Battle Angel Alita, more like an Homeage to BOC (Yukito Kishiro is a big fan), the character however is based of a work by H.R.Giger (metal beard) I believe, and he is named after some demon: Zapan. which can lead into thinking the symbol is satanic if you don't read all the info/scratch the surface...?
I dunno, great song, great logo and great band nonetheless^^
this man is correct about the symbol, everything else is pretty much fan interpretation, but i think BOC would like people to take it how they want and believe in what it means to them
