wow i'm a 185 lb dude and my bench max is only 225 i got it to that in 2 weeks, from 205 to 225.. Now its alot harder to get it higher.. HOw does the board help u break the barrier? Does that bench press shirt/gear help at all? Is there a certain technique on how to arch ur back, i try it all the time but i think i'm doing it wrong.
Board training helps you train thru sticking points. Object is to hit a new PR on each board. Boards also help develop lockout power. Bench shirt gives me appx 50-60 lbs on the lift. It works like a spring as it stores the energy of the descent and loads it to the ascent. When arching, you must get up on your traps, tuck your lats, and squeeze your shoulder blades back while placing your hips as close to your shoulders as possible - like a back bend. I will be up to train with you all on Saturday and then going to the Garage Ink Christmas Party that evening. Currently training for the Arnold Sports Festival Raw Challenge. Possibly doing the Push/Pull meet in January as a workout.
