I had a '69 Cougar hard top that was this exact color which I traded off years ago (a few years after high school), and regretted it. I have now recently purchased another '69 (though this one is red). They both have black interiors and the new one has factory A/C :) Great cars and this one will get willed away, that is the Only way I will get rid of it, some one will have to peel my dead fingers off of the steering wheel...lol
My sister had a 1969 XR7 convertible with the 351 windsor 4bbl with a FOUR SPEED. It was black with a tan leather interior, AM/FM, pw/pl and air conditioning (which I think was unusual for a convertible back then.) She bought it around 1980 for $650 and unfortunately sold it a few years later for about $250. It was starting to fall apart. I hope somebody saved it. :-(
I hate the look of the door edge guard sweeping down the side of these. But a cougar is a cougar and thats a hell of a lot better than getting stuck with a chevy or a pontiac.

My Dad has a 69' too. But his doesn't have a skirt rim and his colour is a purplish red. It runs like a lambo but it is more epic!

Nothing better than the sound of a 1960s-era American V8 and Fords always were the best of the breed.
