i think you're thinking of it the wrong way. We're not supposed to be in the middle. Like in the first movie, where K said "5 minutes ago you KNEW there weren't aliens.". you KNOW there are only 3 dimensions, while in reality there are probably many many more. the rat things have a small one that has a smaller one that has a smaller one, and so on. and we have a big one that has a bigger one that has a bigger one, and so on. its infinite.
