my phone broke and me and my dad are trying to find a cheap, but good quality phone. and i cant get a smart phone becaused my dad would have to pay 30 dollars extra each month. so i wa wondering, (even though its old) should i take a chance with it? i cant find any other good touch screen phone with the QWERTY keyboard that DONT require the data pack. so should i take a chance with this phone? it seems pretty nice.

@MrBloo94, I wouldnt recomend this phone now that it has been discontinued for a while, look at it's succesor which i believe is also discontinued the lg env touch, it is still a very nice messaging phone and alot better than the voyager. Check out my review for it, maybe you'll be interested. I have the droid and couldnt be more pleased with it. If you have the money i'd highly recommend it. I also have a review for it if you want to check it out.
@akatsukigaara Well, the problem is that my mom won't let me have internet on my phone becuase she thinks that it is unecessary, and the LG enV Touch requires that. So, I was going to get a new Voyager because it has a qwerty keyboard and a touchscreen, two things that I NEED in a phone. Althought there are newer phones that are are more advanced, do you think that this would be a good phone (good touchscreen, good battery life, etc.)?
I've had this phone for nearly a year now, from Sasktel.. I think it's really good- I've never had any problem with the hinges. It's even survived a few wet spells- which is highly not recommended but it's lived through it and works fine. the battery life has been amazing - of course it wears down with music use and roaming- but I've been able to keep it running for 2 to 3 days on one charge- depending on the amount of use. It's been really durable.
@MrBloo94 Do not purchase this phone. I have had it for two years and I am now on my third one. The hinges on the flip are NOT sturdy one bit and break with the simplest open of the phone. Hope this helped.

I dont think you can resize it. The picture looks normal on the internal screen because when you took the picture, you took it sideways which is how the screen is set when the phone is open.

Yea. It has AIM and it's okay. It's not the greatest. It does have it's share of problems. Sometimes it won't let you sign in, sometimes it can't find the server, and so on...But if you have unlimited texting AIM is free so don't worry about it being a waste of money or anything. It's good for when you need to get on AIM on the go. Let's leave it at that.
I'd say it's personal preference. If you are a big texter, but also want to navigate through your phone on a touch screen, get the voyager. If you want a slimmer phone with a couple of fun touch features, but don't mind not having the physical qwerty keypad than get the Dare. Both phones are pretty cool. I'd say go to the store and try each out keeping in mind what you will be using on it the most.
ya i defintly would because of the QWERTY keyboard witch makes it alot easyer to text .. With the dare iv heard after a while it takes 2 clicks wen texting witch could mess u up but it is personal preffrence.
Circuit city is going out of business so maybe there is a deal like that going on, but $80 is about the same price at verizon now with a 2 year contract.
i love touch screen texting with ipod touch, i got one of those and use msn and facebook with it and its soo easy. but idk about this phone still, i get one a week and a day from today =) and iam gonna blow $200 on a phone with 3yr contract. so i can get pretty much anything.
I agree typing on the ipod touch is pretty easy. I also have one, but it's a different type of screen and was made for that. The voyager is more of a messaging phone with its qwerty keypad. The touch screen is kind of a fun little addition on the phone. You can access all the features through it, but not much other than that. Iike it though cause i text so much and it is so fast on it. I'd get it although they only have it in titanium now.

i have this phone and i really like itt.
but the only thing i still dont get is the why everytime i put a wallpaper [a picture i took]
it looks way bigger in the external part than the internal.
how can i put the pic to a normal size?

I dont think you can resize it. The picture looks normal on the internal screen because when you took the picture, you took it sideways which is how the screen is set when the phone is open.

my friend got the lg voyager for christmas and i got the lg dare. He doesn't like my phone and i don't like his but their both great in there own way.

Yea. It has AIM and it's okay. It's not the greatest. It does have it's share of problems. Sometimes it won't let you sign in, sometimes it can't find the server, and so on...But if you have unlimited texting AIM is free so don't worry about it being a waste of money or anything. It's good for when you need to get on AIM on the go. Let's leave it at that.

I'd say it's personal preference. If you are a big texter, but also want to navigate through your phone on a touch screen, get the voyager. If you want a slimmer phone with a couple of fun touch features, but don't mind not having the physical qwerty keypad than get the Dare. Both phones are pretty cool. I'd say go to the store and try each out keeping in mind what you will be using on it the most.

ya i defintly would because of the QWERTY keyboard witch makes it alot easyer to text .. With the dare iv heard after a while it takes 2 clicks wen texting witch could mess u up but it is personal preffrence.

Circuit city is going out of business so maybe there is a deal like that going on, but $80 is about the same price at verizon now with a 2 year contract.

no you can't...trust me, you won"t want to text on the touch screen anyway. The Qwerty keyboard is fast and efficient.

i love touch screen texting with ipod touch, i got one of those and use msn and facebook with it and its soo easy. but idk about this phone still, i get one a week and a day from today =) and iam gonna blow $200 on a phone with 3yr contract. so i can get pretty much anything.

I agree typing on the ipod touch is pretty easy. I also have one, but it's a different type of screen and was made for that. The voyager is more of a messaging phone with its qwerty keypad. The touch screen is kind of a fun little addition on the phone. You can access all the features through it, but not much other than that. Iike it though cause i text so much and it is so fast on it. I'd get it although they only have it in titanium now.
