  • @dannydarkbaracuda Thank you for your kind words. I hope you enjoy a long and happy time together with your cat. Losing them is sad but its nice to be able to remember the happy times.

  • :( I would adopt that cat in a heartbeat! I'm so sorry he died!

  • @ChipmunkNationFan200 thank you, Ben had the effect on a lot of people.

  • When I get a kitty, I will name him Ben if it's a boy. Is it ok if I do that? ~ TheFurryballFoxy :3

  • @TheFurryballFoxy hi and thanks for your message. Of course it is OK, I would love you to call you cat Ben. I can't think of a better tribute to a brave guy. Please post a video of him on here when you get him.

  • Iam curious did he bump into things a lot and you had to "kitty" proof it? Sorry for your loss he was a cutie!

  • @ravenroxursox thank you for you kind words. Yes, he did bump into things and so the whole house was Ben-proofed, ie nothing breakable that he might knock over.

  • Poor, sweet baby. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • What a precious baby. I know you miss him very much. I had a cat for 16 years and she passed. I feel your pain in losing such a loving cat.

  • @magill1963 thank you for your comments. Yes, it is so sad when we lose them but we always have great memories of them to treasure.

  • Wow, 14 years! That's amazing. You are indeed a saint to take such good care of this cat for so long, and you obviously did a great job of it.

  • @mrblanche thank you for your very kind comments

  • The person taking care of that cat is noble and is one of the crowns of humanity.

  • @MrChoke101 thank you very much MrChoke.

  • i see he wags his tail!! nice and cute cat , i wish i had a cat too

  • @playcard120 thank you. yes it's strange how his back legs didn't work too good but he was able to wag his tail the way he could, he really used to thump the floor with it!

  • awwwwwwww poor thing and a good owner

  • @THEweeROCKER thank you for your comments

  • This is so sad..But at the same time I'm so glad that he was loved..God picked you to take care of this animal..and you passed with flying colors..You'll be blessed

  • @Midnightryder7 thank you, it's very kind of you to say such a nice thing.

  • Poor baby looks like he has it bad in the rear. Ours has it mostly in the head and neck and has tremors. I hope your kitty improves with age like our Corky.

  • @kodack10 thank you, we had fourteen good years with him before he died. I love your Corky video, he looks a real livewire.

  • @mmartin01x thanks for posting a comment, it's sad that he is no longer with us but he had a very happy life for the fourteen years he was with us

  • Does Ben have a wheelcart? Very good for pets who have trouble moving their back legs. It would keep him steady and enable him to move around much more freely.

    He's gorgeous btw,

  • @TraffordReds9 Thanks for your comments. Yes we tried a one of those carts but he was quite spooked by it as if it was some strange thing following him around! He was happier without it. Whenever he wanted to go in the garden on a sunny day he would sit patiently by the door until someone noticed and let him out. He loved to sunbathe on the grass.

  • 14 years! He lived a good long life and was very much loved

  • @JohnnaCal thank you, he certainly was loved and was very loving himself

  • so sweet. thank you for looking after ben. you're great

  • @moonlightsun88 thank you, it's very kind of you to say that

  • You're a good person. You will be spared when my reign begins.

  • @Kirbymcbadass thank you, can I be minister for animals when your reign begins?

  • sorry bout your cat man. my dog just died so i recently adopted a handicapped cat. his name is handi. he can still use his legs he just looks like hes wasted or high haha. hes always bumping into the walls. anyway nice video

  • @TheTylerKay thanks to you all, hope handi is very happy with you, cool name for him by the way!

  • awwwww

  • 14 years for a cat is a great age as many die from accidents or illness. God bless you for caring for a beautiful cat.

  • @Madgeisha thank you for your kind comments

  • Your Cat is the cutest cat i ever seen in my whole life, you really take good care for your cat :)

    R.I.P Ben!

  • @DreamPuff12 thank you, he really was very cute.

  • Sorry about Ben man, I can tell he was totally awesome! My cat has been gone for almost 6 years and I still miss him terribly, great to have shared 14 years with the little guy though, glad you were able to aswell.

  • @TWULF thanks for your comments, I'm glad you enjoyed 14 great years with your cat and still remember him so fondly.

  • i had a kitty that was missing radius bone in each arm, she died a couple years ago at about 15... i had her since she was born, she was so weak that my mom wanted to put her "our of her misery"...i fed her by bottle, force feeding at first... later you would have never know (except the arms)

    love her still... miss her.

  • @lorileeslove thank you for your comments, even though it's sad and we miss them it's nice to remember them with a smile. I heard it said before that 'to live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die'

  • My cat also died at 14 years of age.I'm sure Ben lived a lovely life because of you and will forever live on in your heart

  • Thanks for your kind words, he had a very happy life and we think about him every day.

  • Sorry for your loss. He looks like he was a very handsome fella!

  • Thanks for your comment, he certainly was very handsome.

  • What a sweetie! I so would have given this cat anything it wanted! Thanks for posting this!

  • thank you for leaving such a lovely comment

  • Aaw - possibly the second worst case of hypoplasia we've seen. I think ours is the worst. They take a lot of work and it's wonderful that you took care of him.

  • wow, this guy's CH is much more pronounced than my two. Bless you for having him. I like how you help him out using his tail. ;p that was cute. CH cats make great pets, so loving and sweet!

  • Thank you, they certainly do make good pets and he was great friends with our other cats and dog.

  • thank you to you... for taking care of this special cat for 14yrs.. =D

  • Thank you for your comment. He gave us 14 years of pleasure, he was always fun to be around and was VERY loving.

  • OMG this mademe cry, poor thing !

    did it like suffer ?

    R.I.P Ben :)

  • No, he didn't suffer at all. He had 14 happy years and died without any pain.

  • by the way I am so sorry for your loss...But he had a very long happy life thanks to you..Thank you...

  • Thank you for your kind comments.

  • thats so fucking sad it made me cry

  • I think animals like that should be put down not kelpt as pets... Their suffering I don't understand people who keep pets like that! It's just sick

  • I suggest you look at "This is Charley" video which gives you more info on this,, the cats do not need to be destroyed they are not in pain so it is in no way cruel or sick! If people are commited enough to give a loving home to such an animal whats the problem? .. I have adopted Wallis who has a mild form of CH he has struggled to find a home because of this, and Im so happy to give him a forever home.. he has a good quality of life but is just a little clumsy :)

  • I was going to remove the above comment by mizfirty, however your answer prompted me to leave it so that anyone else who wishes to leave a nasty comment (and there have been more than a few) can see that by showing this it helps others to understand the condition and realise that such cats can have long and happy lives. Thank you TopzSykora.

  • you are welcome and thank you for sharing Ben with us.. he was adorable :)

  • Aww thats so adorable.

    Clumpsy cats are cute :)

  • @mizfirty

I do not even understand why you decided to watch this video..to leave your negative energy? Handicap cats can live long healthy lives thanks to people who is brave enough to welcome the love into their lives..People who cannot understand the love actually the ones who is suffering by being miserable..

  • CH cats are truly in no pain. Their brains don't exhibit any signs of it. They are loving animals. My CH cat is far worse and is a beautiful animal. If you watch them play and enjoy themselves, and see them interact with other cats you would understand.

  • thanks for your comments, we've had a look at Nerp, he's so cute and courageous.

  • Bless you for taking care of this little one with great needs.... shows you have a heart of gold...

the world needs more people who are as kind and caring as the family who cared for this little cat... bless you all!

  • hello.

i have a disabled cat aswell.

    his name is damage.

    thankyou

  • haha my cats name is special eddy

  • hope damage and special eddy are doing just fine, love their names

  • haha special eddy is doing great! hes acts a little tipsy but he gets along :D

  • probably what happened was during birth his front legs were okay while the back legs didn't get enough calcium and couldnt support little Ben

  • I have a disabled cat. His name is Hamo.

    Thank you

  • Thank you for posting a comment, hope Hamo is doing just fine.

  • it's amazing this kitty lived happy 14 years...it seems the illness didn't bother her/him too much...she's so sweet....

  • There not in any pain now, they have such nice characters aswell ! there sooo cute ! x

  • thank you kimmmy, I couldn't agree more, the variety of personalities cats have is endless

  • sorry about ur kitty, makes me rly sad since i too have a cat <3

  • thank you, whenever I get nice comments like this left here I find it very cheering

  • aww, no problem^^

  • is too sad

  • it was very sad when he died, but he had a great life and brought so much joy to a lot of people

  • i like to heard that

  • aww so cute! <3 sorry to hear he is gone =(

I love disabled kitties as much as healthy ones.

I also have a one-eyed cat named Scar.

    Love kitties!

  • thank you, after Ben died we thought it would be a long time before we got another cat but then after a few months we saw Jackdaw in the newspaper, a charity were looking for a home for him as he only had three legs after a car accident. He is very happily settled now and I think I will video him for youtube fairly soon as he is a real character.

  • when i watched this, i was sobbing for ages, poor little thing, but at least he was loved, and cared for, he looked like a really happy cat. I bet u miss him loads.

  • Thank you for your kind words, he really was a happy little fellow and appreciated everything that was done for him. He was VERY loving and I will miss him til the day I die.

  • Thank you, there isn't a day goes by that we don't think of Ben. He had so many little character traits, eg. if he wanted to be on someone's knee he would walk up to wherever they were sat, sit directly at their feet and, without moving a muscle, stare into their face constantly until he was picked up.

  • bless you and ben, sweetheart.

  • I'm glad to hear that Ben did not suffer.

  • thank you

  • When a cat has CH, does that mean his back legs are weak?

  • I' m not exactly sure if it is always their back legs that are weak, but every cat (and horse for that matter) that I have seen or heard of with CH has displayed very similar symptoms to varying degrees.

  • I'm so sorry to hear of Ben's passing. He looked like such a wonderful cat. I also have a CH cat, Zero, and it's comforting to know that they can live long, healthy lives.

  • thank you, I'm sure you and Zero will have a lot of fun together

  • Your video has special meaning for me..I recently adopted a small kitten with CH, and was told of all the things that would go wrong..and then here's your Ben living to the ripe old age of 14..Ben gives CH kitty owners like me hope...so thanks much to you and Ben..I'm sure he knew he was loved very very much

  • Thank you for your kind comments. I hope you and your kitten have a lot of good times together, I'm sure you will.

  • me too i have disabled cat (i'll make a video) very sweet! bye

  • I'll look out for your video, or send it to me. Thank you.

  • hi jamietucknutt, i must make the video and i'll post it on youtube so u'll can look on my videoes. i'll say u when i put. bye

  • Our cat Candy is slowly losing the use of his back legs. I plan to build a small cat-on-wheels cart for him. The next obstacle is the litter box. How does Ben use the litter box? Do you have to help him go and clean up later?

  • Sorry to hear about Candy's condition. Ben does need help using the litter tray, luckily for us his body clock is perfect, he goes once per day and its always last thing at night. We have to help him, we do this by holding him up in the tray so he can do his business, we then lift him back out when he is finished. Hope this helps you.

  • it looks sad

  • i had a cat once but it died

    Ben looked alot liked him

  • It is sad when we lose a pet we loved so much, but at least we can always remember the good times shared.

  • aww...i love animals a lot, and seeing this video/Ben touches me, nice to know that you took the responsibility of taking care of him, very great decision you made.

  • Thank you. Ben has that effect on everyone.

  • I am just so amazed that you and your family have made the effort to care for this little animal that most would have put to sleep. I hope he has rewarded you with the love you deserve.

  • Thanks for your kind comments. We have been more than amply rewarded with love from Ben. Early in his life one vet did suggest having him put to sleep, this was more for convenience as he was living wild(!)and was not actually suffering any pain or discomfort. To this day we never regret taking him in and he is a favourite of any visitors we have.

  • They do make carts for cats that can help them get around better. Sometimes the litter box gives them problems though. Don't know if he'd adjust well to a cart either after doing it his way for 12 years, but you might think about it :) It basically does the same thing holding him up by his tail does - it stabilizes him a little. He looks sweet:)

  • Thanks for comments, we tried one of those cart things several years ago but he didn't like it. He couldn't get himself comfortable as he likes to lie by the fire, and also he was a little spooked at being 'followed'.He has the constitution of an ox. Prior to living with us,he was about a year old when we took him in, he had been run over twice and has since survived a respiratory arrest and also an anyphalactic shock incident. He likes nothing better than lying on someone's lap being pampered.
