You should research groups in your area. Just do a google search for SCA groups in your area and then go out to some of their events and see if it's what you want.

It is I just don't have the time to do it. That and I don't know any one there. It'd be like a third wheel kinda thing.

It can be time consuming but it is fun and most of the time folks from all over the SCA are very friendly. You'd get to know people.

By the way, there are 19 kingdoms in the SCA worldwide.
