I really like the Pypes exhaust, but it can be loud inside the car if you are trying to have a conversation at highway speeds. While it's not always possible, the solution is to go about 75 where it purrs quite nicely. Take a look at my "Mustang Running 3" video. I think that video gives a better perspective on the sound of the exhaust.

I find it to be very comical when people think their V8 is so awesome, until they get beat by a V6. Don't ever underestimate a V6 Mustang, they can be extremely dangerous.

U can make anything go fast but u will spend more money trying to get that v6 to equal v8 power. @hjmcneil87 Insurance purposes? Fuel efficiency? Maybe he wanted to be unique. I've seen V6 Mustang's push well over 450hp. We all know V8 cars are built for performance and for the most part are the faster cars, but having a V6 that can beat most V8 cars is pretty beast. I can't speak for this guy on why he bought a V6 Mustang, and from the looks of it, he clearly has the money for a V8; the V6 just suited him better. Everybody has their reasons.

@BryantHavercamp While I would agree that the sound of a V6 differs greatly from that of a V8 and the microphone on this camcorder doesn't really do it justice. I'd say the sound of my car does not sound like your typical ricer fart cannon. Also, this video was shot before I installed the supercharger.

I have an 06 GT and I've looked into how much power I can get for mine with a turbo or supercharger but I've never looked at how much they could to for a V6.

hey, i was wondering how you got the cutout on your exhaust for true dual, when you got the pypes package did it come with an insert to help you cut out the rear bumper, or did you get it done at a body shop?

I made a template from the cutout on the stock side and used my Dremel tool to cut it out. I had already cut it out myself when my new Pypes exhaust arrived. It had a cutout template included with it. The exhaust shop said they wouldn't do a cut out for the bumper.

I just bought a 2009 mustang 4.0 v6 pony package, at the moment it is stock and it is manual.

What would you recommend the first thing I do to make it sound good, and does it effect the warranty?

I'd recommend a cold air kit with a SCT Flash or Diablo tuner. You'll notice the power increase right away and improve your gas mileage. For sound you'll want shorty headers and an x-pipe dual exhaust. Check rpmoutlet for both items. As far as your warranty goes, people modify cars all the time. Mustangs are certainly no exception. As long as what you have done is not the source of the problem, you should have nothing to worry about. Ask you dealer if you are still concerned. Have Fun!

Sounds nice. I have the Street Pros and after 50,000 miles on the mufflers they are getting LOUDER. I've been followed by the Staties twice last week (once he was 1/4 mile off the highway facing the entrance ramp) as soon as I went by he pulled on the highway and I dropped back to 65... and he strolls by me nodding his head... not exactly sure whether he meant "nice exhaust" or "that's better"...

Thank you! I wouldn't say mine have gotten louder, but the tone is deeper now that it's supercharged. (See Mustang Running 3 on YouTube) The only hassle I get from the staties has been regarding speed issues.

I also have a '71 Mustang with headers and Purple Hornies that is much, much louder. I've never been hassled by the man in that car.

I bought the Pypes true-dual cat-back from rpmoutlet last summer (2007). They are listed under the V6. I was initially going to order the flowmaster, but the sales person said the Pypes system was better and cost a little less. It sounds even deeper now that I put a ProCharger on the car.

no, mustangs are terrible for chicago winters. I live in a northwest suburb by chicago, and mustang slip and slide everywhere. It completely sucks when you hit a nice patch of black ice. Although their fun in summers, it really isn't that good or even safe in chicago winters.

i live in the very NE corner of indiana and have an 06... its fine in the snow... i drive a truck most of the winter but this winter the truck took an expensive puke... i drove the stang for about 2 weeks during the nasty part of winter and never had a problem. If you drive careful you wont have a problem

Pypes are an excellent choice, I've got the Pypes setup with Street Pros, sounds almost the same as the vid, just a tad deeper sounding. If you like LOUD exhaust, get either Pypes setup.

thats pretty cool, ProChargers are a good source of mild power, if you dont wanna worry about tapping into your oil in such. which is cool. you should turn up the boost to 15Psi see what it can produce for you.

well what im trying to get thru...you can put the same mods on the v8 including the procharger (i dont know why anyone would go with pro-charger since roush chargers retain the factory warrantee) and the v6 will never make the same power and be as reliable....little motors turn more rpms and dont last as long

these new gen mustang gt's are acually cheaper then the previous years...ford cut down on the build price for example the rear axle is now straight rather then independent...as for fuel milege the gt's are not too bad, with my dads 07 i can still get 22mpg @ 100mph (avg mpg)...thats pretty impressive for a v8

Ford put the 60 degree V6 in starting in '05 which is why it sounds like an inline 6. The Pypes exhaust makes sound even more like a Supra.
