The junctioning system is so awesome on this game and it gives us a break from the boring mp usage as we draw magic, GF's learning abilities and refining cards for greater magic. I Can't ever hate this. So nastolgic

From FF7 I wanted a Buster sword, 8 I wanted the gunsword, 9 I didn't play much, from 10 I wanted Lulu, and after 11, I stopped paying attention. But, truth be told, I've hated the gameplay since FF2... :P

7 got me into the franchise...but 8 is really what hooked me. I know a bunch of people who stopped playing JUST because there wasn't a flashy bad-ass villain like in 7.

Gunblade: cooler, SeeD: Cooler, Laguna: (sometimes an annoying little bitch, but...) Still Cooler, Draw/Junction/GF/Magic Systems: ALL COOLER. And the icing on the cake is that Squall actually stopped being an emo pussy...Cloud has YET to figure it out.

Imo opinion FF7 still sets the benchmark. The characters are more likeable, the story is more epic etc etc... FF8 is still a very good game though. I have alot of childhood memories with this one. Both of these games need to be remade.

I gotta admit that this is one of my favorite FF scenes in all other FF games I've played. I've played the 1-13 (not counting 11) throughout the history of growing up lol. But anyways, old games are always more fun then the newer generation, maybe it's the nostalgic feeling I guess haha.

i think it would be a good idea to remake ff8, but in my opinion, redo the combat system. Junction was an interesting thing, but when you got in battle, it was really really boring. Make it more FF7 or FF9 oriented combat, and you got a winner.

I have to say, FF8 was THE game i couldn't let go of for days, it was like my #1 priority xD

@ShockHorrorFF while ff8 is a great game, i don't think it's time for a remake yet. the normal graphics were primo for psx, and the cutscenes would still hold up today on the ps3. it wouldn't be a big enough difference graphics-wise for a game developer to feel like a remake would be a worthy use of their time and money. maybe we can get a remake when they perfect VR gaming, although voice-acting would be nice.

I have to agree.... If they made a remake of FF7 and FF8 on the newer platforms. (PS3 And X-box360) then this game and FF& would be one of the biggest sellers of those platforms. And man, they could even put more detail into the storyline. And maybe even add a voice behind clould and Squall. I've always wondered what they would sound like. Especially Tifa and Rinoa.... idonot, they've already given Squall a voice in Kingdom Hearts 2, and chances are the FFVII:Advent Children cast would just reprise their roles in a remake of the game.

The true quality of a game reveals itself after time has passed. I always thought I didn't care for this game, but watching it now, and listening to the music, I remember only good things. I remember being bummed when the game ended, because the characters were so engaging. Hard to find games that have an impact like that.

It would be stupid to remake the game without voice acting. If they remake it, there will be a 99% that there will be voice acting in it.

That's the reason why Twilight Princess received harsh criticism. If it would've had voice acting, then the game would have been met with more acclaim, although it is a fantastic game already. Voice acting is pretty much standard nowadays.

I love anime and jrpgs because they are super creeative innovative pieces of literature...the japanese are truly the best storytellers around right now..not to say I hate subtitles but actually I love american voice overs...crispin freeman is dramatically trained and severly talented and steven blum, and many others I find very very talented...and many times its not even the voice actors than the direction...but yeah their are times when it is bad..like star ocean a new hope

Squaresoft and Enix merged a few years back. It was probably the biggest new story. Since Squaresoft created the much acclaimed Final fantasy series,..and Enix is the creator of The much larger and more famous Dragon quest series. The dragon quest game was the father of today's console RPG's...without Dragonquest there would have been no final fantasy. These two series were also HUGE rivals. lol Squaresoft won,..I guess. but since Enix is square now,...that also means they won. Conundrum...
