as its DC currant i guess it would of been better if the inverters was where the panels was then run the AC cable to the Utility box, as you would of needed some big cables to take 2x10KV of DC currant to the inverters, i would of thought as you should lose a lot of power from the panels to the inverters (still nice 9.7KV per inverter, they are very big as well never seen ones like that before)
Nice neat installation! Very professional looking. Now that you have had it for awhile, was it a good investment? Worth the effort? I have a farm up in Maine and I am thinking along these lines. Thanks.
what a nice work and system! I love it. Here in my shitty country (Holland) this system would be stolen within a week, the solar panels AND the inverters.....
I am glad to see there are still some nice places on earth
@hobbyguy So in Holland, if you buy a gun, that makes you a criminal, an armed criminal. Then I need to learn Martial Arts like Karate and Judo to defend myself against you, an armed criminal.......to quote USA's Rodney King "Can't we all just get along".
I certainly WILL buy my own "stuff". What does that have to do with me wishing the costs weren't prohibitive for the needy? Your asinine response doesn't make sense, but then asinine people don't have to.
What a shame the costs are so high...very out of reach for those who would most benefit from the technology. Does anyone know if there charitable endeavors where this technology is being donated to those in need? I dread hearing about the senior citizens who die every year because they had their power shut off in extreme weather conditions.
We have a backup generator that runs on LP gas. It is required to have an automatic disconnect switch that drops the generator offline when it senses the utility company power coming back on. This is for the safety of workers. Does this type of solar system also have such requirements, especially considering that you are ostensibly also selling power back into the grid?
Dont get me wrong, I like solar, but this system will have to work very hard just to make up for the forward energy used in the fabrication of components and that used in the installation process.
You have done an amazing job and a very tidy job as well! Just a quick question what are the length x width Dimensions. Also just wondering what you mean by 6. 50/per watt cheers.
@evo86ya $6.50 dollars each watt, so that depends on the consuption you have the ammount you're gonna spend, so the cost of the project in this video (20,000 watts) was $130,000 aprox but that was just the cost of the panels, you have to add the costs for the wiring, inverters, probably batteries and a few more items, so yeah it's a little expensive.
Great setup, but what is the name of the song, and by whom?

@FreshKillsJustice the inverters will shut down and not backfeed onto the grid if they sense a cold line. they are built that way.

we have a project in mexico and it's 300kw, i don't know why the cost there is around "$250/watt.

What an inspiring video! I'm only installing 5 kw, 20 kw is amazing! What is that music?

@rceres6 The song is breathe by Taylor Swift :)

How much power do you average with the 20k system? I was told they were about 70-80% efficient.
joejoemorgan 1 year ago
@joejoemorgan depends on the penels you use, sunpower and yingly are the most reliable ones wit up to 90%

@Suproctologo I just installed my 20kw for $50,000. or $2.50 a watt.

@joejoemorgan and it included everything. I will post a video later today showing my home bullt system.

How much did this system cost you? Is this enough to power your home?
suteu9 1 year ago
@suteu9
Systems have come down in price tremendously in the past 6 months. Currently, ground mounted systems are running $6-6.50/watt.
This 20 kw DC rated system is enough to power 4-5 average size homes.
ExtendEnergy 1 year ago
@ExtendEnergy When you say "20 kw dc rated system" Is that 20 kw per day or hour? Or similar?
VayMasters 4 months ago
@VayMasters Yes, 20 kw an hour.

@ExtendEnergy I use 20kw all by myself.
