But regarding the supply & demand in USA this number doesnt even co-op with 0.1% of the daily consumption they say that the residential consumers will not be affected. But being a very critical issue as concerns the economy sooner or later it will certainly have an impact on devaluation of US $ leading to a collapse in economy.
What happens when our natural resources have become depleted? Why aren't we using our time and money to develop alternatives, like solar and wind power instead of training troops in Djibouti?
because alternatives cannot meet the demand. and how can you propel a ship on solar/wind? you must do the math! and windmills have a tendency to not turn when you need them the most. the only viable alternative to oil is nuclear - meaning large & small scale - such as home heating and an automotive energy source. if you don't agree, just do the math.
that being said, alternative energy has a place in the energy scheme. but it cannot replace oil with respect to our huge demand on energy and our addiction to modern convenience. only nuclear power can address our energy addiction. unless you want to ditch your car, washer/drier, home heating, lighting, internet, industry, personal & public transportation, freight transport, .........civilization as we know it.
when china or russia drops in and enslaves you, and uses you, and abuses you, perhaps you could use one of your "creative" moves to save yourself. until then, i can only view your opinion as an embarrassing moment that points to the weakening of our civilization to the point where you would rather invite the barbarians in and "lend" them your daughters and sons for amusement.
