  • Had I known this was going on at the time, I would have tried to tune in! I'm just a listener, but I'm thinking about getting a license soon. I have an old 1948 Hallicrafters S-40A that serves me well enough. Take care!

  • Hi Elaine,

  • I hope to meet you on the air sometime. If you can give me some sort of schedule, that would be great. I should be back on by then, end of the month or so. I have to put my dipole back up. How do you like your FT-897d? I'm thinking about getting one.

  • What kind of radio, what sort of antenna and how many watts? Richard ki6jrv

  • She's using a Yaesu FT-897D. Don't know about the power or the antenna.

  • This is pretty neat to see. I think you must get a lot of fun times out of the HAM radio. By the way, what is the meaning of HAM?

  • It doesn't really have a strict definition. It's not an acronym if thats what you mean :D It's another word for amateur radio.

  • piss taking git. piss off

  • You are awesome.

  • What kind of microphone is that?

  • It appears to be a Heil Goldline microphone. Also, the yellow color on the connector at the back of the microphone signifies a Yaesu adapter, and I know she is using a Yaesu FT-897 from this video and her others.

  • hi elaine, nice to se you again. i watched rand's vid and enjoyed it. you are wetting my ols swl days. i may have to get out my old eighteen y.o. swradio again and get on the ham bands. keep well.
