  • This vid suxs ballzzzzzz

  • I wonder if they're using Pharrell William's clap samples during "Hold your hand" cause I don't see any of em' clapping... and they sound pretty crisp. lol

  • Thi is wonderful, thank you

  • I can see why John hated performing like this. You can't even hear their music over all the girls screaming. I can't think of any greater insult than to claim to love a musician who's art you ignore and drown out.

  • at the end of the first song "WE WANT PETE!!" LOL

  • Lucky sods who got to see them and know them!!

  • At 5:22 George looks really pissed off

  • @iorderedabeat He had a black eye from a Pete Best supporter!

  • just one ctm!!!

  • great music !

  • I wish i was there when the beatles recorded this film ! John lennon was such a great singer along with the rest of them !

  • Why was GH's loins blacked out?

  • LOL @ all the orgasming females.

  • started from this to abbey road....WOW

  • Goose step Mama

  • @Syzygy60 tee hee, I dig ya!

  • Wat song is this? Anyone?Anyone?

I have heard alot of their stuff from this time period but never heard of this song

  • @jayven009 if you mean the first song, its called 'some other guy'

  • You guys referring to the sync- these guys were CONSTANTLY practicing- I guess at the beginning they really enjoyed each others company and recognized each others talent. Very special.

  • Amen on the Cavern footage. And the sync was perfect. Really rare for the time. Plus, their sound was spot-on, despite the lack of monitors and the youthfulness of the players.

  • Amen on the Cavern footage. And the sync was perfect. Really rare for the time.

  • finally a video with not even 1 dislike. Who can't not like The Beatles?

  • The Beatles were and still are the Kings OF Modern Music...They rocked the world and still rule!

  • Hhahaah 6:05 xD

    Cuuuuuute :) !

  • so i traveled to England this summer, and my tour guide tells me his father saw Paul a few years back. I was astounded, and said "how was he????!!!!" He told me his father said "he was good, but it didn't beat the real thing." "???????? What do you mean????" I asked. He told me his father saw the Beatles in the Cavern Club in 1963............... I nearly choked on my drink......... lucky SOB.

  • Now all you hear is songs where guys want to hook up with you while the beatles just wanted to hold your hand <3

  • John was only using a VOX AC15... ( Backiline at the Cavern ) .. And I know who owns it now.... They still sounded great.

  • Can't hear John's rhythm guitar.

  • Love how they all dress the same ♥

  • Thanks for posting this,i haven't seen this since the 80's,i used to have it on video,as far as i know it's only been shown once. Was it ever released on DVD?

  • Some of the video is so primitive, it can't do justice to the incredible vocals and tightness of this proto-ROCK band! They far outstrip their contemporary "competition" and, in terms of actual talent, could well hold their own even amongst today's "talent."

  • Greatest rock band OF ALL TIME ! rest in peace John..

  • @karensmusic1950 and george.

  • haha love how paul and john just look at each other right before the singing starts

  • in the opening segment, what song are they playing? thank you so much for posting!

  • nevermind i found out!

  • @seoul86 Its called "Some Other Guy", but they didn't write it. Just a cover.

  • Does anyone know if there is ANY footage of the Hamburg days out there?

  • Lol at Johns guitar when they are playing I wanna hold your hand!

  • how did they get so good at writing songs and playing their instruments

i know practice but i wonder how they were so original and good at such a young age

  • wish I was in that crowd.

  • Ringo is so cute!! I'm glad that he became the official drummer!! Otherwise, everyone would be average height XD Haha noo Ringo is a special little baby :D

  • The Beatles!

  • whats the song at the start?

  • @calvery28 Hmmmmm..... I DON'T REMEMBER TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH!! Rings a bell though

  • @calvery28 The one they were playing on the stage right? Becuase if you meant "Love Me Do" I would have lost it XD

  • @BeatlesFanCharsh ohh found it its called some other guy

  • @calvery28 Oh yay!! :D Hey now I know!! XP

  • site orquidhea no youtube

  • Wow, you can really see it in John on stage. Some creative drive, some spark of energy just under the surface - even this early.

  • @Sconz32 He was an outcast in his social sphere, he was artistic, talented, physically attractive, hard-working, intelligent and broke, with a strong desire to live the life of an artist as well as have money and material things. In my opinion these traits and his fortunate affiliation with Paul propelled his career originally.

  • Who are these losers? They're trying to look old fashioned, and the songs are bad quality and people are screaming because they hate it so much. How pathetic!

  • @sjk72

    troll

  • You're a real "hoobadoobler", which translates to "man with a small penis".

  • i heard the beatles replaced pete best cus pete was fingering cynthia powell behind the cavern club

  • @niggerga They replaced him with Dumbo who was caught banging his drum over Rory storms wigs around lime street with 8 others. That's why he wanted to buy a hair dressing saloon in the wirral once he became Blingo the cootie. rofl

  • ADORABLE! this vid was well put together... good job

  • i must say you have an excellent archive of early songs...thank you

  • can somebody somebody please tell me where to go to a beatles withdrawal center cause ive been addicted for 40 years,

  • @beachboytriad go to USSR

    theem Beeatles

  • Sorry, but there is no cure.

  • i love the young beatles

  • reminds you of how VERY young the Beatles were. Seems all Tributes are just too old and lack that energy seen here. Look out for a NEW Beatles UK tribute in spring 2010 called "the Boy Beatles" spot on!

  • =p twist and shout looked and sounded so painful =-( Glad he sung it though, poor vocal chords!=-(

  • The Cavern footage alone is worth the price of admission...

  • @jimwalsh2001 You shoulda been there; it was even more exciting in person!

  • oh the good old days. the beatles are totally pure music

  • Everyone of their songs can fit any mood any mood your in.

    THIS is what music is!!!

  • "Some Other Guy" exuding from Lennon's lips is one of the (many) gems mercifully featured on "Live at the BBC." Wonderful show, thanks.

  • Hey anyone ever see that website "Savage young Beatles"..What a mind blowing website that is. I wish I could poast the address here but fascist Youtube owned by fascist Google doesn`t allow it. But there is a way around it...Go to the google search and type in "Savage young beatles" and the first link that comes up is the website. It`s wild, they got photos of the beatles playing to like 3 people in clubs, pics when they were 16 years old. Tons of pics really.

  • THIS is true Beatles R&R!!!!! Teens of today, throw away that shitty rap crap,LISTEN & LEARN!!!!! Yellow submarine13,you've got good taste!!!

  • The name of the first song is "Some other guy" . It is in the LIVE AT THE BBC cds.

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS!!! if u relpy ill subscribe

  • Comment removed

  • To add to that, the only place those great bands do get press is in Rolling stone or spin magazine, and possibly the Grammys, but still, It's a shame that society has come to the point that the mediocre is considered to be what the mainstream people "can understand" which is hardly true. Granted I know a lot of people my age who loves the Beatles. Come on, someone has got to be pretty arrogant and closeminded not to like the classic bands. Listening to the Beatles makes me feel smarter!!!!

  • what song is this

  • how can john hold up that guitar so high?

  • Strap.

  • well i know that.I held my guitar up that high and it was very uncomfortable.

  • it takes skills to do so ???

  • I don't understand why the majority of this generation doesn't listen to great music like this. Instead they go for the horrible kind and most of them have messages that deal with killing, stealing, lying.....well everything that isn't good. I love the Beatles!!!!! PEACE

  • i like the beatles and hate rap pop or any kind of music most of my peers like.... its just dumb things that take no talent

  • Better call it mainstream, rap and pop music isnt all mainstream, for example abba was pop and tupac and many others were rappers, but that doesnt mean they were mainstream

  • : / in most cases, but there are a lot of groups that do actually make great music, i hate most rap but look up outcast or nerd. idk why most ppl are attracted to the classics when we could be trying to improve what we have right now. lol give some feedback or commentary. it may not seem like it but they do take into consideration what fans as well as critics say :P. Make it better by telling them what YOU want :D

  • I am from this generation. i believe its called the "Y" generation. anyways. when school was in, my family studies teacher would put a radio on in the classroom. shed put it on the local rock station, (it plays "all the best classic rock and the best of todays classic rock" ) and a classic rock song came on and the girl said she diodnt like the song cause it sounded like something that her parents would listen to. i would never hit a woman but i contemplated the consequences for a moment ha

  • I'm 13 and I LOVE The Beatles! I have 10 cds (8 albums and 2 compilation cds), 7 t-shirts, 5 posters, two movies, and a calendar! I know TONS of people my age who like The Beatles and other older music! The Beatles are not being forgotten! They will live FOREVER!! =D

  • @TheYellowSubmarine13 im 13 too. and the beatles r my favorite band and will always be :)

  • I feel your pain, I'm almost 21. I have an ecclectic taste in music, but I don't understand why these days all of the mediocre music gets the most press, with a few exceptions (cause there are popular bands, like Coldplay that I love). I guess it's probably to the marketing factor, and sometimes it comes down to what the media wants to create as an ideal in pop culture. It makes me so sad that there are so many GREAT current bands out therre, but they hardly get any airtime.

  • As I watch this video and see the Fab4 dressed in this style we all know where Pete Doherty has copied it from....*g*

  • I've always tried to bob my head and tilt from side to side like McCartney used to do, but I find it only induces headaches and makes it hard to play. (:

  • I know this slightly elderly man who works at my favorite shop. He worked down at the Cavern and set up the Quarrymen's equipment and everything. He taped one of their all-night sessions. Accidently recorded over it soon after. Sure must regret that today!

  • wow,

    do you watch cheese factor

  • Fuck todays music i fucking despise it, i'm 24 and i have me younger brothers (14 and 18 respectfully) hooked on good music, The Beatles being one, AC/DC Led Zep, Sabbath etc. It really is a shitty feeling realising the good days of music are over. Thank God for the internet and YouTube. RIP John & George...... And Paul? Ha Ha PEACE!!!

  • i totally agree with you. my bro loves todays rap bullshit . i try to put beatles, led zeppelin, jimi hendrix on his i pod to see if he will go for it. he likes it, but likes Kanye and T.I better. makes me fucking nauseas, how these idiots realize that rap dies out quickly.

  • i do have to add up...i'm only 18, and i grew up listening to old stuffs. funny, i started with elvis, then developed a love for clapton. clapton in turn introduced me to blues, and later on to other rock notables such as hendrix, srv, deep purple, ledzep, etc.

too bad, my generation has less interest in these types of music

  • Me too! I'm 15 and I love Beatles, Elvis, queen.... and when I talk about them my friends think I'm strange...

    (sorry for my english Lol)

  • good to know that =) i'm from asia actually. seldom do i meet people with similar tastes

  • I know, they try to say the Jonas Brothers and the other Disney stars are rock and I really don't understand that. I am so glad the Beatles exist. If they didn't music wouldn't be as good to listen to. PEACE

  • awesome

  • ThIs iS AmAzIiNG!!

  • Butterflies in my stomach, just like waaaaaay back when!

    It's love!!!

  • My Granddad signed his name beside lennon's at the cavern.. He thought they were greasy bastards.

  • Who`s your Granddad?

  • Bruce Bakewell

  • That's Granada, not Granddad. LOL

  • Who's the Bastard now.. Tinnycringe? LOL

    just a joke...

  • the cavern video was used in the free as a bird from the anthology

  • Paul is a pleasure to watch.

  • and Ringo Starr. The guys had talent, people, so GET OVER IT!!!

  • Nobody can deny the innate talent of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and R

  • the beatles are so friggen AWSOME!

  • Wow! Is this at the Cavern? Rare...

  • In reference to Ringo Starr, Mark Lewisohn (author of The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions: The Official Story) confirmed that Starr was both proficient and remarkably reliable and consistent. According to Lewisohn, there were fewer than a dozen occasions in The Beatles' eight-year recording career where session 'breakdowns' were caused by Starr making a mistake, while the vast majority of takes were stopped due to mistakes by the other 3 members. Ringo made the least mistakes of the 4.

  • What? For those who have doubts about Ringo's skill as a drummer, check out Rain, Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite, I Am The Walrus...

  • Strawberry fields...

  • Good morning good morning too. Nice one.

  • i am swedish and i am pretty sure i heard it

  • george harrison is one of the most underrated guitarists in music history. he really is so amazing

  • AGREED

  • @beatlemaniac487 I wouldn't say he's underrated or overrated. He's as famous as he could have ever gotten, 1 of 4 of the most famous people in the world. I think that anyone who doesn't realize his talent, they're the ones who are overrated.

  • @beatlemaniac487 and McCartney one of the most underrated bass players!

  • i wonder if the background behind them when they are playing "I wanna hold your hand" inspired Radiohead's Hail To The Theif album cover

  • i wonder if the background behind them when they are playing "I wanna hold your hand" inspired Radiohead's Hail To The Theif album cover

  • the deal with pete best is that they got rid of him because he didnt hang around the other 3 and have the same sense of humour as such they didnt conect very well even in the photo shoots in hamburg and astrid he would dissapere after a few, also he kept getting all the attention from the girls so that made the others jealous. ringo sat in for him a few times and they found out that he was a better drummer and had more spark and fitted in with them well :p

  • well, all that, which is true, plus, George Martin said he would only hire them if they changed drummer...

  • omg ha ha i cant belive people are so sad to start an aurgument about it. pete best a better drummer yes and your proof of this is or is it an opinion because everyones entitled i couldnt give a crap meself who is better they all made great songs together and thats all that matters. i no that it was rong what they did to pete best because he helped them get popular then booted him out at last minute.

  • Fantastic! =)

  • those people literally went in hysteria!

  • who

  • It is Ringo, yeah. Pete Best was good and Ringo is better.

  • uhm... Brian Epstein didn't want to manage them at all while Pete Best was in the band. I agree that Pete is perhaps a nice guy or something, but drumming was not his big talent...^^

  • I guess it was George Martin who suggested to change the drummer. Pete Best was more handsome than Ringo....if he wasn't changed...then it was a perfect set of four very handsome guys. Anyway, Ringo is also cute and had always a ready smile while shaking his head, beating drum!!!!

  • WOOOOHOOOOOO the Beatles, love them all. thanks for posting such a great vid.

  • 18th August 1962. It is Ringo. End of.

  • This should be the footage from 22nd August 1962, with Ringo instead of Pete. It was never shown on telly though.

  • Thanks or posting these videos.

  • Is that Pete Best on thhe drums?

  • yep. i believe so. because it sure doesn't look like ringo... this must have been before October of 1962

  • No, thats Ringo. In fact if you listen close, just at the end of the Cavern clip you can hear someone yell "we want pete!" (2:18-20)

  • omg i heard it... lol :]

  • you don't have to insult !

  • No, thats Ringo. In fact if you listen close, just at the end of the Cavern clip you can hear someone yell "we want pete!" (2:18-20)

  • Th best group ever, no one like them.

  • So cute. Liverpool _still_ means the Beatles. It's great to see these old clips.
