Some more John Seeely music, from Emil Cadkin, Jack Cookerly and William Loose.Warner Bros. sure didn't restrict that use to their fsall 1958 shorts or even animation..
Well... Even if it's a commercial they have limited time they could have added 3 more seconds to it. This clip has many comedy timing errors (too quick).
@celestialmoongoddess But you' ll notice that Bugs doesn't give a darn for being tied up at the end. He was probably already thinking of a way to get loose! lol.
Opening scenes are by Virgil Ross. Bob Matz probably did Bugs walking over to the refrigerator. Matz' work can often be confused with that of Chiniquy due to their similar working styles. Ken Harris might have done Bugs trying to put Daffy off his game.
Ken's first break as an animator was the wooden shoe dance in 1935's "Little Dutch Plate" for Freleng. As you mentioned, he was assigned to Tashlin's unit which became the Jones unit upon Tashlin's departure.
In 1963, Friz again recruited Ken to animate bits of the titles of "The Pink Panther" including the scene that was used in the opening of every ensuing Pink Panther short featuring the title character flicking ashes off the end of his cigarette.
In 1949, Ken was requisitioned by Freleng to animate Bugs Bunny in the segment for the Doris Day film "My Dream is Yours" (with Chiniquy and Ross and Champin). Ken told me he saw Doris Day outside the cartoon studio one day and invited her in to gave her a guided tour of "Termite Terrace" during the time he was working on the live-action/animation segment for her feature.
The first time I'm seeing this, but this is a great commercial. I heard the Looney Tunes characters were used for Kentucky Fried Chicken commercials in the 60's as well.
i remember this ad when it first came out...hey, if Bugs and Daffy were into Tang, then dammit, i wanted some!!...i can remember making Tang as a kid; i would use about 6-7 tablespoons of the stuff, and there would be this surreal orange sludge at the bottom of the glass!!
When i saw this commercial, and seen it said "shoot a duck" i thought Daffy would've been among the gallery at the start of the commercial but it turned out not to be that way but he did get in on the act.
omg HOW MANY FUCKIN' TIMES CAN YOU SAY THE WORD TANG IN A COMMERCIAL!?!?!?

Perhaps Daffy's greatest victory. Thanks for the video.

It's nice to see Daffy get the upper hand on Bugs for once...and not have it backfire on him either!

@celestialmoongoddess I agree! I kind of feel sorry for Daffy when he's against Bugs even though he's probably the bad guy!

Did Ken Harris ever work under Freleng though? I always associated him with Chuck Jones (and briefly under Frank Tashlin).

This Tang commercial {originally seen on "THE BUGS BUNNY SHOW" over ABC in 1961} was shown in black & white, and NEVER seen in color.
