And since Allah says in the Quran that it's a sin to disobey the prophet (pbuh), than not having a beard would also be a sin, same with a women not wearing a Hijab because she is not obeying the Prophet. All prophets had beards by the way.

Actually, the majority of crimes (homicides, rapes, etc.) are not within family, but by people we know --- acquaintances. I have not heard of anyone being raped in my family or friends; there has been an occurrence of domestic of abuse ONCE of all the people i know and with thanks to God, they are now divorced and she is happily remarried. my point is, hijaab or no hijaab, rapes happen. hijaab is much more than a protection from a man, its a symbol of piety and mmodesty - yes, like the nuns.

A lot of abused women are less likely to report her husband. Maybe because of family honour or she maybe too scared. I don't mean to say that muslim women are not raped, but hijaab is not the cause of it. Hijaab is part of our religion, and we obey this command from our Lord not only because He has commanded us to, but their is reasoning and wisdom behind it. Verily, our Lord is All-Knowing.
My point is just that wearing the hijaab does not make us oppressed and we love it -- I, for one, am absolutely in love with my hijaab.

Islam Allows Muslims to eat and dine with the Christians and Jews, the Quran says so, that eating with the people of the book (christians of the Jews) has been made lawful to you. Infact The prophet (pbuh) said it's a Muslims duty to protect the the people of the book because they worship the same God as Muslims, unless they fight you first. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was ordered by Allah (God) to go to other regions to spread the word of God and what was revealed to him. He fought only those who fought him and didnt want him preaching . He wasn't forcing people to convert, infact the Quran Says "let there be no compulsion in religion." When the Muslims occupied, The christians who wanted to remain christians were permitted to remain Christians, only those who raised their sword to fight the prophet were the ones he fought against.

No one, as it says in the Quran, was forced to change his religion, but The Prophet only fought those who waged war on him and did not want him preaching the message. The Hyjab cannot a protect a woman. I tell you why? If a woman marries a cruel and brutal man. How will she protect herself from being raped and abused within her home. She cant. I studied rape and incest for about 3 or 4 semesters as part of my major, and its amazing how these heinous disgusting minds work. But the truth is, they are definitely more likely to go for the uncovered person because of immediate arousal.

I absolutely agree; I was speaking from the perspective that it was not within family/friends. But hijaab has nothing to do with rape. Would removing my hijaab when a family member wants to rape me make it any different? Not at all.
One cannot state that hijaab should not be practiced because rape will happen, whether you like it or not. I so far have not experienced it, all praise is due to our Lord.

Jannah you talk about christian NUNS. Nuns are different. There are rules for Nuns. A nun cannot marry. They are completely devoted to God. Plus they are a very tiny minority. You will not see many Nuns in your life time. They are live in isolated churches. They are a very small group. Its not the same as muslim women wearing a hyjabs. Actually, I am from New York, and nuns are out everywhere. robby I talked to some Muslim and they say the Hijab wearing is a man made ideology. The Quran does not command women to wear the Hijab.Hijab wearing was created by certain cultures. Its origins come from jelous men who did not want other men to look at their wifes. The Hijab has not much to do with religion but to do with men who dont want other men to look at their women. Women are considered properties of the men. In many muslims countries women are sold to wealthy men as wives.

A Muslim mans beard is similar to the females Hijab in Islam. In the Quran it's not mentioned that a man has to have a beard. But the Prophet (pbuh) commanded every Muslim man to have a beard and trim the Mustache. And since Allah says in the Quran that it's a sin to disobey the prophet (pbuh), than not having a beard would also be a sin, same with a women not wearing a Hijab because she is not obeying the Prophet. All prophets had beards by the way.

robby the muslims I spoke to say, that we live in a time were many Muslims are living a double life. Many of them are not practising Islam properly. Many of these Islamic countries like Iran, Saudi Arabi and so on are corrupt. Because many Muslims are so corrupt, the Hyjap wearing, the beheading laws of Muslims countries is not neccessary. A woman wearing Hijab keeps men and people in general who have bad or dirty evil intentions away from her. This is not to say she has full immunity from evil people. Your being very extreme viewed to say the Hijab can't protect her from a brutal husband, or a rapist who doesnt care, because of course there are things that can happen. When you buy car insurance you might not crash, u might not need it, but it's there for your insurance and for your own protection. It's her intention that counts.
