You did this song proud! There is a very difficult part of this song and you did it so superbly. Sometimes it is sung so "sophisticatedly" when the God of the universe came down to a stable to be born. This would reach even the lowest of the low. God bless you!
You are a man of many talents, I just watched your dojo video. Hey, I slept overnight on the USS Little Rock last year with the Boy Scouts (I'm an ass't scoutmaster). Thanks again, I enjoy your music very much.
That would be a treat for me, but the only way I could visit your country again would be to join the Navy, & I don't think they want me anymore. The USS Little Rock is now a museum in Buffalo NY. & I'm not far behind!
I live near Naples in a town named Caserta. This is one of the most important traditional italian/neapolitan songs. Italian title is " 'O Sole mio (My Sun)". I would like to play it on the pedal steel. Thanks again Tony.
I was in the U.S. Navy when my ship (USS Little Rock CLG-4) visited Naples in the mid-60's. I bought an Eko solid body electric guitar while I was there. (wish I still had it) Thanks for the history on "O Sole mio" & have a great day.
When I first hear Tony, I was walking around on the USS Little Rock and I thought somebody was playing Chet Atkins records. Lo and behold it was Tony playing in the carpenter shop. Phil W.
I first heard Tony play while we were on the USS Little Rock in the early 1960's. At that time I told him he could give Chet a real run for his money on the guitar. He was very modest and dodged the compliment. He only seems to have gotten better. And he's probably just as modest about his talent. But 40 years of getting better just shines through anyway.
