  • You did this song proud! There is a very difficult part of this song and you did it so superbly. Sometimes it is sung so "sophisticatedly" when the God of the universe came down to a stable to be born. This would reach even the lowest of the low. God bless you!

  • Damn! is there anything ya can't play?? Good on ya Sir....

  • You are a man of many talents, I just watched your dojo video. Hey, I slept overnight on the USS Little Rock last year with the Boy Scouts (I'm an ass't scoutmaster). Thanks again, I enjoy your music very much.

  • That ship was my home for 4 years & 1 month. TR

  • This is for Frank. Rest in Peace.//Phil

  • Good group .. Great implementation (Óh! Sole Mio), beautiful song.

  • If one day you come back here, let me know. It would be nice to meet you, Tony.

  • That would be a treat for me, but the only way I could visit your country again would be to join the Navy, & I don't think they want me anymore. The USS Little Rock is now a museum in Buffalo NY. & I'm not far behind!

  • I live near Naples in a town named Caserta. This is one of the most important traditional italian/neapolitan songs. Italian title is " 'O Sole mio (My Sun)". I would like to play it on the pedal steel. Thanks again Tony.

  • I was in the U.S. Navy when my ship (USS Little Rock CLG-4) visited Naples in the mid-60's. I bought an Eko solid body electric guitar while I was there. (wish I still had it) Thanks for the history on "O Sole mio" & have a great day.

    Tony

  • One of the best versions that I have seen of this song. On the Pedal steel: Great!

  • Thank you very much, where do you live? TR

  • Can you really play the Boatswain's Pipe?

    Phil

  • I don't think I can---but I'll try it. TR

  • I'm sure you can. Put a lot of reverb and echo on it.Phil

  • that has to be the best i've ever heard that song played.

  • You guys ain't heard anything yet!!! Get him to play "Devil went down to Georgia" on his "Boatswain's Pipe".

  • Oh, no! That "heckler" is back again!

  • Tony, remember when we used to play that song over in the Med? (It's Now or Never) Frank used to sing it.

    Phil

  • I do, & he did a super job as I remember. Was that at the Montana bar in Villa? TR

  • It could have been the Montana or the Tiki or the bar up on the O6 level.PP

  • What memories!

  • When I first hear Tony, I was walking around on the USS Little Rock and I thought somebody was playing Chet Atkins records. Lo and behold it was Tony playing in the carpenter shop. Phil W.

  • Thanks Phil, but I've always put your picking above my own. Ah, the carpenter shop----let's join the Navy again, want to?

    Tony

  • Lets do it. If I can fit into my old uniform.

    Phil

  • I couldn't fit into TWO of my uniforms!

  • I first heard Tony play while we were on the USS Little Rock in the early 1960's. At that time I told him he could give Chet a real run for his money on the guitar. He was very modest and dodged the compliment. He only seems to have gotten better. And he's probably just as modest about his talent. But 40 years of getting better just shines through anyway.

  • What a nice comment, Thank you Chuck.

    Your old Navy buddy, Tony

  • You guys ain't heard anything yet!!! Get him to play "Devil went down to Georgia" on his "Boatswain's Pipe".
