aaaa .... like high school all over again, they both good bikes I have vtx and I like it I just did 1400 miles last week from chicago to "the dragon"in N Carolina. Served me well, I wouldn't mind riding Harley at all but I can't afford it. I bought the vtx 05 for. $ 4,500 you can't get Harley for that ! And Honda is no lesser bike

I agree with Greglesny. Vrod will get my vtx at the track in a 1/4. Runs exact same at 1/8 mile. But vrod weighs less and puts out more hp, but less torque.

VTX 1800 is a power plant in its class and bits pretty much everything !! but one ??? the only thing that will get away from this beast is a HD V-Rod 1250 1/4 mile under 12 second so next time you want race good old " Harly " you just might race the V-ROd but be ready for a good surprise !!

By the way i do own Honda VTX 1300 so i love this bikes !!!

@68ghostrider yes, vtx can beat a 'standard' harley cruiser, but vtx falls under the muscle cruiser catagory and if you want to talk muscle cruiser then v-rod takes the cake on all japanese bikes.

jap bikes are far better than harleys, better built, better handling,better all round in fact, harleys are hugely overrated and only bought by fools because of the name.as far as american iron is concerned, the victory is a far better bike than a harley.

Yeah, I don't race on the street, but my 27 year old Honda has always had TONS more power under my ownership (I'm the 3rd owner), than I could ever use. The pull power of my V65 is still insane, after 27 years.

I feel badly as I've been treating it like an unloved dog. Oh, and it's all stock (pipes and everything), and HEAVY too.
