@jneil2007: Good point, I've learned more about the government on my own just browsing the web than I have in school. Ask ordinary Americans if the Federal Reserve is a private or public bank, and the answers will be about 50/50 because lots of people are totally unaware of it.

I also never really learned about our currency and considered how we just print paper and give it value, but again I figured that out on my own and I find it pretty fucked up in many ways.
