It's easy. If you're in standard tuning, hold down the 4th fret on the low(thick) E-string and tune your A-string down a little so it sounds similar to the 4th on E. Then do the same with the A and D-string, but this time hold on the 5th fret on the A-string, because A is already G#. Then do the same with the other strings. In the guitar lingo, a step is two frets, meaning half step will be one fret. Imagine you get a another fret by tuning down a half step, so u can play darker notes

Eddie Basics 1 O 1...his tapping style may have made him famous but it's his sound, off the wall odd ball picking style that is harder to master. He noodled to death on tape and had to learn his own shit that he liked after listening to it over and over and over again not like the pussy digital extensive learning at your finger tips reliant on technology faggots of today that all sound the same.

Man, i still consider myself a beginner after 10 years but i can play circles around all these "me playing Van Halen" posers on Youtube.

You guys have absolutely no idea where to get your own skill and sound.

But i always hated those gear-freaks. I met a ton of those people. Why are they fact-fucking so much with equipment? To cover up a lack of talent? Funny, because Ed (and many others) started out with crap-guitars.

Tapping is one of the most lame aspects of eddie playing but people still keep remembering for that particular skill.

His riff-work, and the things he played over his own riff was outstanding. He also had a great melodic feel.

But i never see that copied because no-one can do that. Tapping is the easy part, only Vai and players of that skill have evolved the tap-technique.

Eddie buried his Bumblebee guitar in Dime's arms. Eddie was Dime's favorite player. This 'knucklehead' is using a Dime model as a subtle nod to Dime. Also I think this is for beginners who are new to EVH's style... Relax guitar snob!
