  • good job..you have it in you

  • The trouble is getting it out in one piece!

  • it seems you did it talking about this time since i still sing it in my mind

  • Cool!

  • 'Aight I've got goosebumps.... that was fabulous!!!!!

  • Too kind!

  • Wow!

This has been interesting. Stef's recitation seemed so tenuous, her opinion of the over-all works so unassuming, then you came along and put it to exactly the sort of music to which it was the most adaptable. I just can't imagine it being done as any other sort of arrangement but accoustic guitar and voice. A minimalist poem, fully fleshed out through minimal application of technology.

  • Awesome sound and performance!

  • Stephanie's version is awesome!

  • This sounds like a hit to me, hear it twice and you're hooked

  • Thank you! Follow the and replies to see another development of the song!

  • woah. you make it sound like that the poem was really just a song in the first place.

  • Actually, if you check out Stephanie's reply you'll see that she had always thought of it as a song!

  • You and Stef should collaborate more often.

  • That'd be nice! Collabs are great, but there needs to be that special spark of creativity in one that ignites something in the other. For me, it's rare.

  • Very cool. 8^)

  • Loved it. Both of you are very special.

  • wow, this is a good example of how talented you are, Peri. you took something and improved it about 1000x's its original form. truly incredible.

  • I like it more every time I hear it! :)

  • Great Work Peri! Great Song Stephanie :)

  • Thank you Peter! Great to know you are still checking in!

  • really nice - I'm checking out your inspiration... thanks for posting!

  • bare bones brilliance!

  • You got it. The raw Peri!

  • Excellent!

  • My two favorites in cahoots! What could be better than this?

    Harmony?

  • I have a BIG harmony song coming your way soon! I wanted to get this song to be a real spur of the moment thing. Besides, I couldn't find a nice sounding harmony for this one...... lol

  • Now that is what the "favorite" button is for. Great collaboration.

  • Excellent song & poem, one of my PeruiUrban favorites!!

  • Quality ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

  • Great Stephanie and Peri collab! With such a fabulous poetess and a super songmeister how could it be otherwise. Love the melody and your voice is extra appealing on this one, 5 stars!

  • Thanks. Stephanie really got me with this one.

  • That was great, man! Loved what you did with that very nice poem!

  • Thanks! The words just reached out and grabbed me. That never happened before.

  • Bravo!!!

  • You really captured the emotion in the lyric with your melody and arrangement...Well done Peri!

  • great job, i enjoyed it alot

  • really like this song

  • Great stuff...

  • GREAT!

  • It is unfair to be able to play an instrument and have a good voice such as yours, peri. Purchase a terrible sounding guitar immediately, please. Or maybe you can just distort the sound? A few scratches and hisses should surfice.

  • Hey, I'm doing what I can!

  • This has a Great Groove.

    DDR

  • ENCORE~~~~ENCOREBut Perry,,,,you know I need the words!!! LLLOVE IT, FAVORITED and of course 5*!!

  • Check out the link in the box. They aren't my words!

  • Ok, I'll let you slide this time...;) you know I love your music!!!

  • Like your treatment of the lyrics here. Would be interesting to juxtapose what Will would interpret them to. Kind of like me and Ken interpreting a piece of Will's over on LiveVido, only opposite.

  • Well done collaboration! 5*

  • Thank you my previous collaborator!

  • Well I'm just plain giddy now! Thanks so much for this. I loved it. I kind of felt like there was a song buried in there somewhere when I wrote it... just didn't know how to go about teasing it out.

  • Well, I gave it a shot! The words really managed to capture the place I am at right now. This is the FIRST time I ever used anyone else's words. The moment I saw them (even before you read them) Basement Peri had me reaching for the guitar. Thanks so much!
