I never knew that Charo could play the Guitar. Over the years I've seen her many times on everything from The Tonight Show to Love Boat etc. I knew she was a singer and dancer and an actress as well but I had never known she was such a talented musician. Don't know how I missed that.
She was a student of Segovia, one of the best guitar players who ever lived. Anybody who think she faked this is out of their minds are so use to seeing contemporaries fake everything they think everybody does it. Yes there are people out there who have talent and she is one of them

Incidentally to near perfectly sync that phenominal precise lightening fingering is an increcible feat unto itself. To explain to others just how right you are about How Charo faked this video I thought I would tell you I just caught my dog synching a performance with one of his old audio tracks. He hasn't uploaded it because I won't let him have a YT account.
I will say one last thing and you all argue about it if you want. I am not saying Charo can't play the guitar, in the studio, maybe she did really play all. But, on this video, anyone with my background with music, and video editing will tell you, she Is not playing live on this. She is doing like so many do and she is playing to a recording, that if loud enough in a studio, and practiced enough, can look like you are actually playing the song. She Is Not Plying Live Here. Like it or not :)
@ANIGHTWING Not only are you right but If I just recorded an audio track. without video I can easily play it again for the camera, then with PowerDirector 9 delete the camera sound. @ANUTWING Ha! Far from it. I supported my claims with good hard evidence. Charo has been twice voted "Best Classical Flamenco Guitarist in the World" by Guitar Player Magazine. NO guitar player with those kind of credentials is going to fake it. And again if she had, there is no way in which to silence an acoustic guitar, and if she had been that "off" as you say, it would not have meshed with the recording and the audience would have had their fingers in their ears.
@kanderslam Look at "Bolero".It has great studio audio but guitar during video isn't even plugged in and no mics. Performance is synched to earlier recorded audio.I noted 2 mos ago that Charo isn't playing "Malaguena" on Martha Stewart. Its easy for anyone to synch a live performance to a previous audio track. I do it once in awhile with track volume. I play but its overrwhelmed by the recording. I ran "Enounce" and slowed this down. I think its fake but she is a virtuoso player.
@revedmusic - Who cares? I suggest you go and listen to her old recordings from back in the 70s and 80s and don't focus on something as ridiculous as whether or not someone isn't playing "live." She may have played in the studio, but if you watch video real close, you will see that she's not really playing here. Two key things to look for. The beginning when the fast finger run starts, it starts before her fingers do, lol. And a little after that she strums the guitar up, but if you listen, when you see her hit the top string, you will hear the bottom one. If you watch and listen close, and you will see. I still think she's Sexy and Talented though ;) And fun to watch no matter what ;)

@ANUTWING Ha! Far from it. I supported my claims with good hard evidence. Charo has been twice voted "Best Classical Flamenco Guitarist in the World" by Guitar Player Magazine. NO guitar player with those kind of credentials is going to fake it. And again if she had, there is no way in which to silence an acoustic guitar, and if she had been that "off" as you say, it would not have meshed with the recording and the audience would have had their fingers in their ears.

@kanderslam Look at "Bolero".It has great studio audio but guitar during video isn't even plugged in and no mics. Performance is synched to earlier recorded audio.I noted 2 mos ago that Charo isn't playing "Malaguena" on Martha Stewart. Its easy for anyone to synch a live performance to a previous audio track. I do it once in awhile with track volume. I play but its overrwhelmed by the recording. I ran "Enounce" and slowed this down. I think its fake but she is a virtuoso player.

@revedmusic - Who cares? I suggest you go and listen to her old recordings from back in the 70s and 80s and don't focus on something as ridiculous as whether or not someone isn't playing "live." There are hundreds of Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson videos you can go and tear apart. Can't see the motivation for trying to drag others down to your misery. Just listen to the music and enjoy. A better challenge? Go and analyse the Django Rheinhardt videos on here. LOL

Wrong, she is not note for note and it's not a audio issue. Yes she is Faking. I restore Video and Audio for a living, so I know what I am talking about. I can sit her with a Guitar and given enough time be able to make it look like I was playing the song to. Just cause you see a Mic, doesn't mean it's on. So sorry to bust your bubble, but I know what I say. Watch more close, In the intro, the run starts before her fingers do, and when she strums up, the guitar on the track strums down.

I have played guitar since I was eight years old and I am 41 now. And when she "strums up" as you say, it sounds exactly like it should. The reason her fingers don't move much is because she doesn't have to move them. She is playing the strings she has depressed and the open strings as well. She may have played in the studio, but if you watch video real close, you will see that she's not really playing here. Two key things to look for. The beginning when the fast finger run starts, it starts before her fingers do, lol. And a little after that she strums the guitar up, but if you listen, when you see her hit the top string, you will hear the bottom one. If you watch and listen close, and you will see. I still think she's Sexy and Talented though ;) And fun to watch no matter what ;)

She is playing the EXACT notes of this song, believe me I know. You cannot fake with an acoustic guitar because the mics would pick it up.

Martha wasn't being rude. Many people DO have a hard time understanding Charo, and it's been like that for decades! Merv Griffin used to say the same thing back in the 80's to her.
Charo knows she's being over the top, and she has a fantastic sense of humor about herself, and is a true comedienne and icon.
Both Martha and Charo have made strong impacts and paved the way for generations of women, and each should be respected for that.

Check out the video "Sasha Yatchenko with Charo and other famous people" on youtube. Then look at her latest show "SASHA YATCHENKO AT THE ROSE GARDEN RESTAURANT AND PUB" She is a 14 year old that was inspired by Charo to write and sing her own songs when she met her at the Mohegan Sun in Conn. when Sasha was about 8 years old!! She hasn't stopped since. She is just getting "BETTER"
