I want to upgrade to aperture from iPhoto. How do you recommend going about this? All my photos are saved on my pictures folder and not the within iPhoto library.
i have a panasonic LX3 digital camera, and i love it... but aperture wont open the raw immages from my camera... are there any updates that i can download to make it work?
well i have the same problem with my new canon G11 but i was browsing the apple support page and i found out that there are RAW compatibility updates coming out every few months so i wouldn't be afraid too much about it.
Great stuff. thanks for sharing, but I do have a question. Do you know how to display the "captions" I've added to my pictures while I view them in Apertures browser?
aperture is fantastic, literally ten times faster than iphoto+photoshop, v important when ur in business, organization is a massive deal when ur a pro, saving time = saving money, if you're working on a project like a wedding, which may have 1000 pics, you can sort, alter and have the pics on the web in 2 days, before aperture it was tedious, i now get to spend time with my family! aperture can be complicated but with practice it is easy, u probably don't need it if ur not a pro though
i don't get it, why not just use iphoto for organizing and photoshop for editing? is aperture just for organizing? i'm no photographer, but is photo organization a really big deal?
hi there!! jus a quick question regarding the Aperture. i jus bought the new Aperture and currently am using iPhoto. i have heaps of photos in my hardisk. so wot u reckon ... whether i have to leave my photo in my current location or put it in Aperture lib. ??? i got only 160 GB hardisk ...pls help me
Great info in this video. having just bought aperture 2 and having watched the apple videos I still found this video excellent, keep the good work up, Thanks
I don't think it is "better" than PhotoShop because I think that Aperture is in a totally different league than PhotoShop. It is kinda like comparing Safari to iTunes.... after you use both then you will understand what I mean.
I've just got the upgrade to Aperture 2.0, and I think it's fantastic. I am not a massive retouchiing phootographer, therefore I prefer using an organising and immediate retouching app like Aperture instead of Photoshop.
photoshop is another thing it has much posibilities BUT some things that aperture has there not in photoshop. SO its EQUAL trust me owner of arperture 2 and photoshop cs3 on a IMac 24inch apertures is also easier to use ;) any replys?
Can you add a logo of your photography biz name onto more than one photo at the same time. ie. Mass logo onto selected pics. instead of doing it one by one
It's primary use is for photographers who shoot RAW, if your shooting jpeg, you have no real use for Aperture, just use photoshop or iphoto. I use Aperture extensively and having the option to use Photoshop as an external editor is awesome. That means I can reep the benefit of both. The great thing is, if your using photoshop in a none distructive way, Aperture also preserves that feature. Plus in Aperture you can always go back to the master copy if you need to, without having to save 2 copies!

ALIENFETUS 2 years ago
We don't have any student ID's.
Bah, anyhow, I bought it, and I love it. So it doesn't matter.

im new to aperture, but how do you fix blur?
sharmaboi 3 years ago
I don't think it's possible to fix blur with any image editing program. I'm not a hundred percent sure though; ask around.
Edfrommars 3 years ago
no i agree, I don't think it's possible to completely correct blur without some kind of quality loss.
ALIENFETUS 2 years ago
I think you could reduce blur, try sharpening the image.

Aperture is good but it's no Photoshop.

its probably more of an organizing software than photoshop - i am personally a photoshopper (cant get over it).. and after effects

nice !!!... very helpful

Made VERY well, but only tells you how to organize, compare and view your photos. No editing? I'm disappointed.
