As a French, I'm quite shocked by this ad which really seems to insult us, as i we were the worst enemies of the US. Anyway... I kind of wish we could be, now... It is not McCain the one who helps France, it is Sarkozy the one who, just like Tony Blair did before, crawls like a worm before the US... Shame on us for we did vote for him. Shame on you: whoever you vote for, it will be a disaster...
A juste titre.
Oh!
Get the record straight. Northrop will never be able to offer the numbers of jobs as promised. The people in Alabama need to know that Boeing already has plants in Huntsville, Alabama that provided thousands of jobs. If the US Air Force did not misled Boeing, the 777 will be the plane to compete against the Airbus 330. The 777 is a far superior airplane than the Airbus 330. Boeing has outsold the Airbus 330/340 the last several years. Northrop/EADS will have no chance against the 777.
Whatever......the Norhtrop (American company) EADS (European)deal creates MORE jobs in the U.S. than the Boeing bid. Northrop is building a massive plant in Alabama, so get your facts straight.
Why don't you make a video about Boeing and the THOUSANDS of jobs that they've outsourced over the years to foreign countries; again, get your facts straight.
Americans like fair competition and a superior product, right? Well, Northrop-EADS won the bid based on that exact that notion. Grow up Boeing!
McCain is an old glob of SHIT, who can't wipe the drool off his old warmongering chin without a prompter! He is costing American jobs; Washington State hates McCain!
oh and the guy in this video is not french at all, he has a canadian accent, get the fuck outta here, you mc can supporters are not welcome in france.
hello i ame french (really don't know why you don't like us) anyway this video is american and i find it insulting to the french plus the narrateur of this peace of shit (excusez-moi) has ridiculous accent wtf is "han han han" and for the record we love Americans but we hate your government.
It's a joke--it's not really "anti-French" at all. But political satire is very peculiar to local conditions. In this case, the mockery is not of the French; it's of the stupid attitudes US jingoists have of other countries. It points up the inherent logical contradiction of the anti-French right in the USA. Does that make sense?
Get your Facts straight people. Airbus is building the KC-45 in Mobile alabama, opening up more than 30000 new american jobs, and using more than 60% american parts for the plane. the A-330 won EVERY aspect of the competition. Not to mention the primary contractor was Northrop, who are based in California. The competition was with the 767 anyway, not the 747. Learn to read before you post.
The real issue here, and it's difficult for Europeans to understand, because the US has protected them for so long (think WWI, WWII, and Soviet expansion), is that THIS country doesn't like to outsouce it's military. McCain will pay for that during the general election.
Remember, the majority of citizens in America came from Europe. I think the Europeans disrespecting the US goes back to depending on the US to protect their freedom AND footing the bill. I'm glad Europe sent us their best.
Thats so wrong sorry, but US has buyed already billions of foreign equipment in the past 50 years. Most europeans don't disrespect US its politics(Bush). I'm sorry if i dissapoint you but by no way Europe has sent all their best to US.
No need but you should do more research because the one Singapore Airlines A380 was grounded. At the moment no other plane in history had such a good initial dispacth reliability then the A380.
It's not a question of whether Europe can do a better job or not. That point is certainly debatable. The new A-380 has many issues. Turbulance on the ground and to other planes in the air, the possibility of the passenger cabin decompressing, drift when attempting to land with even moderate winds, not to mention the cost to airports in creating new longer runways. Was that even taken into consideration during the design specification?
Crap. The A380 has not a higher risk of decompression than any other plane. Totally wrong the A380 needs less runway then a 747 and can land at slower speeds whichs is a safety improvement. Also clearance to other planes has been tested and has been improved over the time, no more big issue. Please learn more about the A380 before posting such nonsense. Besides the A380 is THE ONLY plane on earth which can be flown with TOTAL hydraulics failure!
People wake up its really getting booring, is it so difficult to understand that Airbus IS NOT FRENCH!!!!! Also there will created more then 20000 jobs in Mobille ,Alabama and hundreds of US subcontractors will earn lots of money.Mobile will become the 3rd place in the world where widebody planes are assembled.
It's owned by EADS which is mainly French/German and there's a Spanish minority stake as well. EADS is listed on Euronext Paris stock exchange. EADS is not Dutch. I know it is hard for you to admit that Europe can do better than the good old USA... And among other French things in the USA you can add the White House (French Architect) and the Statute of Liberty... just my 2 cents
McCain is the only candidate to NOT release his tax returns. He is the first American Politition Airbus has ever given money to. At least six of his top workers made hundreds of thousands from Airbus and EADS just last year. Obama is the only candidate to release both his tax returns and his earmarks. McCain - more of the same, Bush two point ohh.
No, it won't. While Airbus is actually owned by EADS, it's true that EADS is jointly owned by several European countries. However, the bulk of the 40 to 48 thousand new jobs will be created in France. The 40 to 100 billion dollars will be paid to EADS. This is the first time such a strategic part of the US Air Force will be outsourced to overseas countries. McCain was proud until the scope of the loss to the job sector was discovered. Now he distances himself. No expert on the economy.
What a nonsense. Almost no new jobs will be created in France or Airbus. The final assembly will be in Mobile,Alabama. And no EADS isn't owned by European Countries they only have shares but EADS is a listed dutch company. Besides the KC-30 is so superior to the KC-767 that it won in 4 of 5 categories set by the USAF.
What a stupid xenophobic ad, based on stupid simplistic stereotypes of French people. It this was directed at Mexicans and their maquiladoras or Indians and their call centres people would be screaming racism. The fact that some Democrats use Republican demonizing techniques is disgusting. A pox on both your houses.
McCain's use of the words craven, despicable and scam are mighty powerful and poisonous words from a man who admittedly traded "military information" to his communist captors in exchange for better medical treatment--or who divorced the wife that stood by him while he was a POW, after she became crippled in an accident
Par for the course with republican math. Close a plant in WA state so you can relocate a fraction of the jobs lost to a red state and outsource the rest overseas.
The Pentagon is compromised. It is now nothing more than a good ol boys club full of hand picked enablers for republican war profiteers. mccain's involvment in this air tanker deal was more about relocating defense contracts to republican bastions (just ask jeff sessions (R)alabama)than it was about saving the taxpayer any money. The day this deal was announced sessions was giddy in proclaiming that it wasnt about outsourcing jobs because his state was going to "create" about 2500 jobs.
Give me a break, McCain did not push the contract to France, if you opened your eyes you would see that we tax-paying Americans are going to pay less for military aircraft because this was the best price. Try and blame McCain for stupid shit like this and show you are a fool. AirForce has bids for these things. McCain at least understands the goverment would destroy healthcare here, hell do you think social security has done well? medicare? medicaid? Less government is better - always!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
fuck you McCain, you son of a bitch, you bastard, you traitor of the american nation. You helped give the air force contract to those cocksuckers French bitches. You fucked up back then in the '60's on the USS Forestal, all those innocent men died becuase of your stupid mistake you incompetent miserable bastard.
McCain didn't pick the French company, the Air Force did. McCain did stop a project in 2004 and helped uncover criminal wrongdoing on the part of a senior Air Force official and a senior Boeing executive. Both went to federal prison for conspiracy to violate conflict-of-interest rules after the Air Force official admitted steering huge contracts to Boeing, including a $20 billion project for tankers.
When confronted with actual facts, liberals will always lose an argument.

Shit, mccain won't have to worry ..he's just a koksuckker that the diebold company and the mass media will plant as the next dictator/followup of little war maggot bush.
That's your opinion, O'Reilly. His guts and tenacity make him the moral and practical equivalent of a World War II vet. The next thing you'll claim is that the Flying Tigers aren't American vets because they technically flew missions for the Republic of China!

LOL! John Sydney McCain III didn't serve in WWII and he never flew with the Flying Tigers. He received "enhanced interrogation" during the Vietnam era.

regusted said: "I didn't say he was a Flying Tiger. But McCain might as well be a WWII vet."
At his age, John Sydney McCain III "might as well be" a Civil War vet. :)
McCain was in Vietnam just like Kerry though he was a POW and he received "enhanced interrogation" that even some neo-cons say left him a little bit insane.
Shows just how much the tools who made this video know. 40,000 jobs to France? Boy would I love to see the calculations behind this. For your information, Airbus isn't French, and the total French share in the KC-45 will be ... (drum roll please)... 7%. Seven percent. I'll repeat that: seven.
But hey, block the deal all you want. Just don't come bitching if European countries stop buying their military hardware in the US in response. And we've bought a LOT of it from you in the past...
The video is making a point on how McCain supports overseas contractors to obtain jobs from the folks at home. He supported this 40 billion plus contract, regardless of who it goes to. McCain is just a tool for big corporations and they know he will be controlled easily with a little grease. McCain has said time and again: the jobs aint coming home, the illegals aint going home, and I will continue to fight any war as long as it takes, sounds like a great plan, NOT!!
Ah! Le Freedom Toast ! with Le Freedom Fries ! Eet ees le wonderful, no, ees eet not ? Notice for francophile & francophone : the previous was a parody due to the fact that some anglophone people are conviced that we use "le" before every world ! Le surprising, no ?
Le French at le U.N. were un-le-willing to help The President Of 911 bomb Iraq with Shock & Awe because Saddam Hussein's thousands of tons of WMD stockpiles and the terrorists too.
That's why the right wing Republicans in America invented Freedom Toast and Freedom Fries and many other Freedom-like products (not to be confused with actual freedom freedom) because le "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" didn't help the US to create the new Islamic Republic of Iraq complete with its own Al Qeada.
Well, you know, we didn't go in Iraq as we are a bunch of sissies, as you cleverly highlighted, and we have a crush on uniformed mustachoied dictators (Add with that the fact he had a beret)!
kali555b said: "Well, you know, we didn't go in Iraq..."
It's not too late... we're still there!
And Senator John Sidney McCain III says he doesn't mind if the war in Iraq goes on for another 100 years!
So there's plenty of time for our French compatriots to join the USA as we fight a war against terror in Iraq so that Americans don't have to put up with that sort of thing here at home in the USA.
It's a noble venture, I assure you.
PS- We'll supply all the Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast!
Abrutis d'américain, les français n'attendent pas vos emplois a la con pour vivre lol , vous vous croyez le centre du monde, le problème c'est que nous fesons du meilleurs matériel que vous, lol Morons of American, the French do not wait for your jobs has bloody idiot to live lol, you think you are the centre of the world, you are the problem it is that we fesons equipment of the best that you, it is for it that we were chosen in your own country rather than you lol VIVE LA FRANCE!!
Bravo.
If it is not the job of the government to take care of average people, is it their job to take care of big business, corporations, and Wall Street scam artists like Bear Stearns who were bailed out with $200 billion of our tax dollars, about four times the federal education budget?
By the way creepy Americans, EADS is not a French company. It is owned by numerous European nations - Germany, France, UK, Spain. So why are you so obsessed with France. Oh forget it, I already know!
Obviously the guy isn't French or he wouldn't speak so poorly. This video is the latest example of the sickening francophobia that exists in the USA. And to think, Americans constantly accuse the French of being anti-America.
I have a question for Americans. When was the last time you watched a foreign film? read a foreign writer? listened to a foreign song? watched a foreign language television? NEVER. You're too xenophobic and insular! Bunch of creeps.
As a European who supports US Democrats, I think this video is in very poor taste. It's the sort of anti-french tripe you would expect from natioalist-republicans, not progressives.
Besides, Airbus builds better and cheaper aircraft than Boeing.
Well said! As an American, tho, I am not at all surprised to see this xenophobic ignorance from US progressives. Fact is, when it comes to the world outside US borders, American liberals and conservatives are equally ignorant, insular, myopic, and xenophobic.
Most of the work on this contract will be carried out in the US, so obviously the idiot who promotes this garbage has no idea. And the person speaking in the video is not French. The stereotypes are appalling. Who's behind this?
I am not surprised to see this type of video but I want to say something about these news. In France, we don't care about this deal between the USA and Airbus. For your information, Airbus was at the origin a French company but nowadays, it's an European corporation. Maybe you cry in your country because you lose some jobs but in our continent we lose every time this number of jobs. And PLEASE upgrade your clichés about France. We aren't in the 40's or better in the 60's and change this music...

By the way, yes, this ad is an anti-french video with retarded stereotypes, almost racists. French people don't finance commercials broadcasted with fat americans eating burgers while shooting guns. We buy american hardware however, and we don't whine about it. Guess what tankers the French Army is using right now? ....the ones from Boeing.
i throw my bet down now. this line of attack won't stick. this is one of those things which holds water with nau conspiracy theorists. your extreme lefties have spent the last 30 years assailing boeing for "manufacturing war machines".
I love the Boeing's argument of "outsourcing jobs in Europe".. You guys should educate yourself on the matter. Make some research on the 787 program, you will see what "outsourcing" really is.
Some people are complaining and some people aren't. Some of the Americans that are complaining aren't for free trade anyway. It's always easy to bash Europe in the US, and vice versa. If France gave a big military contract to Boeing, I'm sure a lot of French would be upset. Most people here could care less whether Boeing or Airbus got a military contract, anyway.
In some river, I suppose... After all we haven't any kind of sanitaries, in our beloved country. I still drive a 60s citroen DS, and I have no electricity.
What amaze me with that stuff, exept the blatant bigotry and francophobia of the add is that how Americans can show a stunningly protectionnist side, being outraged (rightly or not, I don't know and I don't care) when EUROPE sell one kind of plane to the US military, calling it unfair. While, at the same times they have criticized us, mocked or even insulted us, when we tried to protect our industries, our independance, and having no problem to crush our industries, selling THEIR products.
This "outrage" will soon be meet by yet another "outrage" from the state and future employees of Alabama should the contract be returned to Boeing (who build in WA).
So, the result is, if you will, much ado 'bout nothing. It won't change the contract.
I don't believe those who put together this video would complain or attack Europeans for protectionism or independence, and I think they realize globalization is a huge failure. It is about outsourcing manufacturing jobs overseas while going into a recession, in exchange for lobbyist cash. There is a fine balance between humor and stereotyping, and they may have erred somewhat there, but this is in no way francophobic, give me a break.
So, this not francophobic... I suppose we had reacted too badly, as we're a bunch of overeactive sissies, uh ?
Well, the next time some of us, those evil frogs, would criticise the greed of US corporations, by representing the US as warmongering, crazy, bigoted, fanatical and narrow minded, carrying huge guns while killing everybody, please, don't take it too seriously as it wouldn't be anti-americanism, only a light hearted joke, a "fine balance between humor and steretyping"...
The Air Force is giving the contract to Airbus. How is that protectionist? There are both protectionists and free-traders in the US, so complaining will occur no matter what happens.
I didn't say the USAF is pretectionnist : they only wants what they need.
I said this as I am really amazed by the outcry all that stuff caused. After all the whole world buy US products, so why couldn't we do the same thing ? Each time we tried in the past to protect our industries, armies, etc with some protectionnism, this enraged the US, we were denounced as backward, communists, etc, as we didn't go for marvels of all-free market economy... This is pure hypocrisy.
Jobs for France? first news. it's a contrat to 50/50 with nortroop. More over the factory will be build in the USA (more interesting since the dollar is lower as euro). Most of the Airbus workers know this contract will destroy jobs in France. And just for information Airbus is an european company. USA is a paradise for politics, since CNN always told the verity.
Wow, I'm an Obama-supporting liberal, but that was really, really lame. What were you thinking? Who cares if AirBus got the contract? Should we just screw competition and NOT give important contracts to the companies that can make the best products?! The McCain camp would love to see these ads, because everyone will just laugh at them and say "uh, so that's all you got?!"
Certainly. Showers and soap are almost unknown, here. Basic sanitaries too. In fact we have a XIXth century like technology : that's why the A330 is in fact is a hot air balloon, not real plane...
I mean, come on, everybody knows that the guy who spearheaded the technological design of the Saturn V rocket and pioneered the idea of landing on the moon was another European (Wernher von Braun).
And no, I don't say that to take credit off of the american effort involved.
Jet and modern rockets were created by the Germans as lesticoulddo said. It's funny to see that nearly all the basis for modern American space and aircraft technology was created by a German.
"But take a bath first." Why ? The last I took was only a month ago...
What part of outsourcing jobs don't you get? Since most of the money spent these days is by the military, then don't you think that our military should spend it here, keeping it circulating in our economy? Perhaps we could then have universal health care, like they have in FRANCE!!
You do know that France has some of the best social programs, don't you? You need to watch Sicko, to see how the US citizens are getting SCREWED by the Repubs and their talk of free market and no social programs.
I agree. Europeans buy plenty of American military equipment, anyway. It isn't a one-way street. Going protectionist on European military equipment would make them less likely to buy from the US. It would be lose-lose. I have no problem with the Airbus deal as long as they picked the best product.
1. mccain is a republican. republicans remain republicans
2. mccain was a good soldier. Quoting from Mr.Bean the movie, a general best knows things about guns and guns only.
3. from his iran/al qaeda gaffes, he doesn't know a thing about reality, or he just doesn't care.
4.he doesn't know a thing about the economy. I can't wait to see him debate obama or hillary on the economy. I'm rubbing my hands in glee imagining how he will sputter for words. he has done so in past republican debates.
Yep, and a dang fine country too. They know how to treat their citizens decently, with universal health care (including HOUSE CALLS by doctors) paid leave for families with newborns, and lots of other social programs that we don't have. We just have ultra rich people screwing the rest of us.
maybe you should try working hard. lazy shitbag. you can go to like a community collage or something. you have to really be an idiot not even be able to get those dumbass handouts from our government..like welfare.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
the government is not suppose to provide health care, or welfare, or other other social bullshit programs like that. the government is only suppose to protect it's citizens (militarily; securing the borders etc..) and to enforce the constitution. not take care of the poor.
alleged regard for the constitution. The pre-amble to this document states one of the primary duties of the government to be "promoting the general welfare" of it's citizens. I think that means a bit more than
having the world's largest military at any price. I have no problem with every welfare
program for the poor eliminated as long as ALL of them for the wealthy and corporations
i just think that it's not the governments job to take care of poor people. in my opinion it gives people the incentive not to work. it is a good idea in theory but it is exploited and is just a waste of money.

What's the problem?
Are the US for "free trade" only when they sell something ?
Why don't we hear the same people shout out so loud when a foreign company buys boeing's plane ?
Oh, i forgot: the only valuable thing to buy are "made in USA"...
Aren't they ?
torpedolos 3 years ago 3
Get the record straight. Northrop will never be able to offer the numbers of jobs as promised. The people in Alabama need to know that Boeing already has plants in Huntsville, Alabama that provided thousands of jobs. If the US Air Force did not misled Boeing, the 777 will be the plane to compete against the Airbus 330. The 777 is a far superior airplane than the Airbus 330. Boeing has outsold the Airbus 330/340 the last several years. Northrop/EADS will have no chance against the 777.
youaintsee 3 years ago
Whatever......the Norhtrop (American company) EADS (European)deal creates MORE jobs in the U.S. than the Boeing bid. Northrop is building a massive plant in Alabama, so get your facts straight.
Why don't you make a video about Boeing and the THOUSANDS of jobs that they've outsourced over the years to foreign countries; again, get your facts straight.
Americans like fair competition and a superior product, right? Well, Northrop-EADS won the bid based on that exact that notion. Grow up Boeing!

Dear babalove,
It's a joke--it's not really "anti-French" at all.

I'm glad Europe sent us their best.
deanrdd 3 years ago
Thats so wrong sorry, but US has buyed already billions of foreign equipment in the past 50 years. Most europeans don't disrespect US its politics(Bush). I'm sorry if i dissapoint you but by no way Europe has sent all their best to US.
techdefined 3 years ago
You might want to do a search on "grounded after mishap" and see what pops up. Or "wake turbulance and the A380".
Just a suggestion.
Oh, I like the part with the passengers were offloaded and moved to a 747. It's definitely a hoot.
deanrdd 3 years ago
No need but you should do more research because the one Singapore Airlines A380 was grounded. At the moment no other plane in history had such a good initial dispacth reliability then the A380.
techdefined 3 years ago
It's not a question of whether Europe can do a better job or not. That point is certainly debatable. The new A-380 has many issues. Turbulance on the ground and to other planes in the air, the possibility of the passenger cabin decompressing, drift when attempting to land with even moderate winds, not to mention the cost to airports in creating new longer runways. Was that even taken into consideration during the design specification?
deanrdd 3 years ago

Also there will created more then 20000 jobs in Mobille ,Alabama and hundreds of US subcontractors will earn lots of money.Mobile will become the 3rd place in the world where widebody planes are assembled.
techdefined 3 years ago
It's owned by EADS which is mainly French/German and there's a Spanish minority stake as well. EADS is listed on Euronext Paris stock exchange. EADS is not Dutch. I know it is hard for you to admit that Europe can do better than the good old USA... And among other French things in the USA you can add the White House (French Architect) and the Statute of Liberty... just my 2 cents

I don't think he has.
His media pals hounded Clinton but nobody even bothers to ask about McCain's.
His wife is loaded. She used to be business with Charles Keating back during McCain's Keating 5 scandal.
Just sayin'
bildoreilly 3 years ago
McCain is the only candidate to NOT release his tax returns. He is the first American Politition Airbus has ever given money to. At least six of his top workers made hundreds of thousands from Airbus and EADS just last year. Obama is the only candidate to release both his tax returns and his earmarks. McCain - more of the same, Bush two point ohh.
deanrdd 3 years ago
euh ... Airbus is an european compagny not a french compagny and this planes will be built in the USA (Arkassas, I think).
LeHomard81 3 years ago 2
No, it won't. While Airbus is actually owned by EADS, it's true that EADS is jointly owned by several European countries. However, the bulk of the 40 to 48 thousand new jobs will be created in France. The 40 to 100 billion dollars will be paid to EADS. This is the first time such a strategic part of the US Air Force will be outsourced to overseas countries. McCain was proud until the scope of the loss to the job sector was discovered. Now he distances himself. No expert on the economy.
deanrdd 3 years ago
What a nonsense. Almost no new jobs will be created in France or Airbus. The final assembly will be in Mobile,Alabama. And no EADS isn't owned by European Countries they only have shares but EADS is a listed dutch company. Besides the KC-30 is so superior to the KC-767 that it won in 4 of 5 categories set by the USAF.

Par for the course with republican math. Close a plant in WA state so you can relocate a fraction of the jobs lost to a red state and outsource the rest overseas.
mizilus 3 years ago
The Pentagon is compromised. It is now nothing more than a good ol boys club full of hand picked enablers for republican war profiteers. mccain's involvment in this air tanker deal was more about relocating defense contracts to republican bastions (just ask jeff sessions (R)alabama)than it was about saving the taxpayer any money. The day this deal was announced sessions was giddy in proclaiming that it wasnt about outsourcing jobs because his state was going to "create" about 2500 jobs.

There is a fine balance between humor and stereotyping, and they may have erred somewhat there, but this is in no way francophobic, give me a break.
luxetveritasnow 3 years ago
So, this not francophobic... I suppose we had reacted too badly, as we're a bunch of overeactive sissies, uh ?
Well, the next time some of us, those evil frogs, would criticise the greed of US corporations, by representing the US as warmongering, crazy, bigoted, fanatical and narrow minded, carrying huge guns while killing everybody, please, don't take it too seriously as it wouldn't be anti-americanism, only a light hearted joke, a "fine balance between humor and steretyping"...

The Air Force is giving the contract to Airbus. How is that protectionist? There are both protectionists and free-traders in the US, so complaining will occur no matter what happens.
kenner116 3 years ago
I didn't say the USAF is pretectionnist : they only wants what they need.
I said this as I am really amazed by the outcry all that stuff caused. After all the whole world buy US products, so why couldn't we do the same thing ? Each time we tried in the past to protect our industries, armies, etc with some protectionnism, this enraged the US, we were denounced as backward, communists, etc, as we didn't go for marvels of all-free market economy... This is pure hypocrisy.

This video is stupid. Maybe Airbus won because they offered a better deal. Maybe American workers at Boeing were the reason for their loss.

No McCain was payed of by their lobbyist. Does that clear it up for you?

well done,
this is a new low in US politics.
VAUBAN4574 3 years ago 2
Jobs for France? first news. it's a contrat to 50/50 with nortroop. More over the factory will be build in the USA (more interesting since the dollar is lower as euro). Most of the Airbus workers know this contract will destroy jobs in France. And just for information Airbus is an european company. USA is a paradise for politics, since CNN always told the verity.
darkyannouche 3 years ago
Wow, I'm an Obama-supporting liberal, but that was really, really lame. What were you thinking? Who cares if AirBus got the contract? Should we just screw competition and NOT give important contracts to the companies that can make the best products?! The McCain camp would love to see these ads, because everyone will just laugh at them and say "uh, so that's all you got?!"

Hey "Obama-supporting liberal,: when will Obama talk about his plans for black reparations from Whitey?

France smells.
GimbleTheWizard 3 years ago
Certainly. Showers and soap are almost unknown, here. Basic sanitaries too. In fact we have a XIXth century like technology : that's why the A330 is in fact is a hot air balloon, not real plane...

Now that's funny - France is so proud of that they have a A330! Heh.
Back in the 60s (about 50 years ago), we went to the moon. You'd better get movin on that technology of "yours."
But take a bath first.
GimbleTheWizard 3 years ago
Haha very funny, indeed.
I mean, come on, everybody knows that the guy who spearheaded the technological design of the Saturn V rocket and pioneered the idea of landing on the moon was another European (Wernher von Braun).
And no, I don't say that to take credit off of the american effort involved.
leasticoulddo 3 years ago 2
Jet and modern rockets were created by the Germans as lesticoulddo said. It's funny to see that nearly all the basis for modern American space and aircraft technology was created by a German.
"But take a bath first." Why ? The last I took was only a month ago...

This is so stupid that I don't even know where to start.
senprekambrium 3 years ago 2
Three things that for reasons unknown to me always get omitted in this discussion:
(1) Northrop Grumman (US) is involved in this deal
(2) The vast majority of jobs get created in the US
(3) The Airbus is the BETTER product
This discussion is in its entirety being exploited by politicians trying to get their profiles up.
Economically however, the deal at hand is well justified.
leasticoulddo 3 years ago
Americans dont get it. AIRBUS is an EUROPEAN company, not a France company only. Germany and the UK are involved. USA = Francophobia

I am all about McCain-bashing... but this protectionist rant is ridiculous.

You need to watch Sicko, to see how the US citizens are getting SCREWED by the Repubs and their talk of free market and no social programs.
splashy9 3 years ago

France is still a country?
Abba2six 3 years ago
Yep, and a dang fine country too. They know how to treat their citizens decently, with universal health care (including HOUSE CALLS by doctors) paid leave for families with newborns, and lots of other social programs that we don't have. We just have ultra rich people screwing the rest of us.

then why don't you live there, socialist.
dookie1127 3 years ago
I would if I could. Unfortunately, I have to use my money to pay for health care and just getting by here, and pray that I don't get really sick.
splashy9 3 years ago
maybe you should try working hard. lazy shitbag. you can go to like a community collage or something. you have to really be an idiot not even be able to get those dumbass handouts from our government..like welfare.
dookie1127 3 years ago
Wow! Not too hateful, are you.
Can't get welfare, no children. I do work, but don't make much and don't get health care insurance, because, as before, no children.
College is out of my reach. It's too far away to travel to it. I work at home because of the distance it is to everything.
But, why should I justify myself to you? You are obviously an ignoramus.

the government is not suppose to provide health care, or welfare, or other other social bullshit programs like that. the government is only suppose to protect it's citizens (militarily; securing the borders etc..) and to enforce the constitution. not take care of the poor.
dookie1127 3 years ago
Your disdain for welfare and other "bullshit"
programs is interesting in light of your
alleged regard for the constitution. The pre-amble to this document states one of the primary duties of the government to be "promoting the general welfare" of it's citizens. I think that means a bit more than
having the world's largest military at any price. I have no problem with every welfare
program for the poor eliminated as long as ALL of them for the wealthy and corporations
are removed too.
pernsey 3 years ago
i just think that it's not the governments job to take care of poor people. in my opinion it gives people the incentive not to work. it is a good idea in theory but it is exploited and is just a waste of money.
