  • That little girl is so adorable.

  • HE'S FLAPPING AIR AT ME!

  • Wow, That little girl is smart.

  • Hey, Destin. That quote you told your daughter, "In a world of talkers be a thinker and a doer," well I thought about that. Hearing it for the first time coming from a child really hit me in the heart...and the brain. I'm part of a sort of organized group for my high-school where we help all the students who have trouble with bullying or personal problems or just need someone to talk to - since they usually have a hard time talking to adults and teachers. Our group at the beginning of this year

  • @Normad121 ... have been planning on bringing in a speaker to our school to talk about LGBTQ (and others of the spectrum), and bullying against kids of different sexual orientation. It's a hard subject to bring up to a school so we had to confront the school's parent council for more so their support rather than their permission. We constructed a powerpoint and eventually when we presented it to the council I was the last to speak. I used this quote, so thank you, for being a great father.

  • I feel as if he was getting hurt. was he?

  • @ElasticLeather

No. Clearly you've never seen a distressed chicken. This one was extremely chill. I would let you ask the chicken, but he's been eaten.

  • Damn u killed the chicken for chicken nuggets? Good dad!

  • 3:00 = too funny..

  • wanna have a chicken as pet^^

  • @kopperspock How do you know that farmed animals aren't suffering? Farmed animals, no matter how nicely they are treated lives shortened lives and die in the same slaughterhouses as the intensive farms. Would you be satisfied if you lived the life of any farmed animal? Would you be fine with someone dictating your whole life, and then deciding when you will die (much sooner then you naturally would) and then eating you ( not because they have to, but just because they want to). I wouldn't

  • Poor little chicken D:

  • I'm amazed and hungry at the sametime

  • girl is adorable

  • Your accent sounds just like mine

  • lololol sleepy chicken was funny

  • @Qubeetubee Nothing makes me happier than an ex-Vegan. Welcome back to the Light Side of the Force.

  • That is the most amazingly placid chicken. Until near the end anyway. None of the chickens my family have kept would ever put up with this :-)

The idea of a steadicam that occasionally spews horrible liquid crap all over the camera operator is steadily amusing. I've laughed a lot with this video!

  • wtf chickens are not meant to have cameras stuck to their heads!

  • @Miikaika25 Thank you Miikaika, your comment made me laugh nearly as much as the video did!

  • best dad ever..

  • 1:02 YUMMEH!!!

  • (pterodactyl screech)

  • ... and a helmet ... I lol'ed.

  • Wonderful and educational video! Thank you for sharing! :D

  • Your daughter is so adorable! She's lucky to have a father like you.

  • what camera do you use for your chicken??? i want one so bad for snowboarding and cycling!!! and possibly for attaching to a remote controlled airplane!!!

  • chickens are better at this because, unlike humans, they cant move their eyes, only the head as a whole.

  • i wish my dad is like you!

  • chickens are not toys to be playing with. All sentient life deserves respect and the best way to respect them is not to use them or eat them.

If you believe that its wrong to cause unnecessary suffering on an animal, then ask yourself is this, or any form of eating/using animals necessary? Definitely not. We have no nutritional requirement to eat animals, or use them.

    Please go vegan.

  • @VeganTruth You're insane.

    Please eat meat.

  • @VeganTruth you don't respect them we keep their population down whereas you make the population bigger and eat the food, selfish

  • @sp16199

in what way are you keeping their population down? people breed chickens on purpose, so its our fault their populations are as large as they are.

How does a vegan make their population bigger? So im selfish because i dont want to take the life of an innocent sentient life? im selfish because im thinking of the well being of another?

  • @VeganTruth Vegetarianism I can understand, but veganism? Going too far at the detriment of your health. Regardless of our intellect, we are omnivorous animals. Carnivorous animals eat other animals. It's simply natural, whether your particular morality says otherwise or not.

Do you honestly think the planet could support 6 billion+ vegans and all the extra farm space that would require?

  • @kopperspock

how is veganism bad for your health?

Are you aware that the large majority of farm land is used to feed farm animals (70%)? if the world went vegan, we would be using a lot less land, a lot less water, and significantly reduce air/water pollution.

We are omnivores, which means we can eat animals if we need to (ie emergency situations). We dont need to eat animals to be healthy, so we shouldnt (unless in emergency).

I dont believe in causing unnecessary suffering onto animmals

  • @VeganTruth I also don't believe in causing unnecessary suffering in animals (I believe the whole idea of halal food is barbaric).

I'm saying in order for the average human to remain healthy and get the same benefits they would from eating the equivalent of a normal diet, there would need to be a lot more farm space.

And yes veganism leads to a shorter life span on average. Vegetarians have the longest, while omnivores are in the middle.

Plus honestly I like meat too much to convert :).

  • @kopperspock

eating animals is unnecessary for our survival or health. So the only reason we continue to eat animals is for pleasure, entertainment and convenience (ie unnecessary suffering). If you truly believe that its wrong to inflict unnecessary suffering onto animals, your only option is to go vegan. All forms of animal farming cause immense suffering and death. All are unnecessary.

i dont understand your point about more farm space. please elaborate.

  • @VeganTruth In order to get the same protein, carbs etc. we'd need to have a lot more farmland than we currently do, and in a greater variety. Do you also abhor eating fish? Nutrients we get from some fish simply cannot be obtained from other sources in the same quantity.

NOT all forms of animal farming cause suffering or unnatural death, that is a gross generalisation.

And yes I would rather live a shorter lifespan if it meant eating tasty meat than living longer on a vegan diet.

  • @kopperspock

    1) people eat too much protein

    2) carbs are plentiful and easy to acquire

    3) If we are growing crops for billions of animals (many of those animals are massive and need a lot of water and crop food to grow big enough for slaughter) we could reduce and eliminate the population of farmed animals, thereby freeing the land used to feed the cow/pig/chicken/etc to feed humans directly. No extra land needed... in fact less land would be needed then currently used.

  • @kopperspock

Yes i do abhor eating fishes. Fishes are not food. We can get all the nutritional needs from non-fishes sources.

All animal use causes suffering, because USE in itself, without permission is suffering. Its all torture, and its all unnecessary.

If you even for a second understood what foods and flavours you are missing not being vegan, you wouldnt make comments like your last one. i love to eat (and i eat too much) and being vegan compliments that.

  • @VeganTruth Every animal/insect/plant is food to some other animal/insect/plant. If we weren't the top of the food chain do you honestly think we wouldn't be food to the top predator?

Animals can be reared on farms without any suffering (I've witnessed it having lived near one for a large part of my life).

Interesting last paragraph, I'd say the same to you. Being an omnivore means I can eat anything (which I pretty much do, except halal food now); veganism narrows the choice.

  • @kopperspock

so if a bear or wolf eats your child, i guess thats nature... right? we too must be food for whatever predator is out there. Are you nothing more then food for a predator animal? i know im a lot more then someone's sustenance.

USE without permission is suffering. Born into slavery and a short life is suffering. There is no animal use that is morally justifiable.

I think most people forget that "meat" is not a "thing"... but rather a part of a "whom".

  • @VeganTruth Before humanity became so disconnected from it, yes, that was a part of nature. To a predatory animal I am nothing more than food, regardless of my sentience.

How do you know farm animals who live long lives, with their food/reproductive requirements met for them, are suffering? Yes it happens on intensive farms I'm sure, but where I've witnessed it, the animals seemed perfectly content. And how would you go about getting permission in the first place?

  • Dat ain´t no chicken shit !

  • what kind of sedatives did you feed this chicken?

  • I have no idea what kind of point your trying to make,

    but thats just scientifically cute.

  • what a bright daughter u have

  • that hair clamp does give the chicken great pain on his comb i love the way u teach your daughter but this will hurt it i think sir.

  • @corecrusher

It's a paper binder. If you take a binder and stretch it out beyond it's spring back point you can make it clamp with much less force... which is what I did. I appreciate your concern for causing animals pain thought.

  • @corecrusher negative nelly

  • dont let me get hurt by this chicken... needs to be autotoned

  • 2:48 THAT FACE, PLEASE FORGIVE ME MY SINS. JUST STOP HAUNTING ME D=

  • lmaoooooo chickens : D

  • you look like a great dad

  • HAHAHA omg!

  • Chicken powered science and a lovely family. You're one lucky man Destin. =)

  • Your videos are great. RTR

  • I love her American accent! :) So young :)

  • I'm glad someone was able to do more than talk. I thoroughly enjoy your chicken videos. Have you tried getting footage of one in the air? From the eyes of a chicken in semi-flight.

  • you are crazy :)
