the death metal influence is evident in the growliness (it's a word, i swear!!!) of the vocals; and the distortion of the guitar and bass.
the hardcore influence is evident in; the subject matter, random bursts of speed, and overall irregular song structure......

those 2 previous factors; PLUS the grooviness of old school thrash metal mixed in.....
