  • Honestly, the 20 year old Plane Train is smoother than the 2 year old SkyTrain. Where's the maintenance in this thing?

  • NICE!

  • I live in Guadalajara, Mexico, and city Major and State Governor are planning to go Atlanta to see how ATL Sky Train works to do something similar here in Guadalajara!

  • Are there any plans on adding an extension to the skytrain?

  • @greddyhawk31 Not at this time. Thanks.

  • This skytrain is a disaster in practice. if you are a woman alone, take a cab during off hours. dangerously unattended, its a big step down safetywise form the shuttles for women. Are they going to wait for someone to be murdered or raped to make changes to protect women?

  • We appreciate your comments and want you to know we take passenger safety very seriously. Just like the rest of Airport property, the ATL SkyTrain and rental car center are regularly patrolled by police. If there is a problem, each car has an emergency call button, which is monitored 24-hours-a-day. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thanks again.

  • I work in Downtown Atlanta, and can honestly say that the ATL SkyTrain is extremely safe. Not only do they have plenty of surveillance cameras, but also I've always seen either security guards or Atlanta police officers present.

  • Nice:)

  • I saw this -- the SkyTrain and the Rental Car Center -- being built from the start. It's nice to see the completed product.

  • This puts the systems I've ridden on to shame by a long shot.

  • That's neat. I love it.

I was to Hartsfield back in the late '90s and I was very impressed with the airport and efficient layout back then. Now with the new car rental center, and a direct connection with the convention center via skyway, the airport has taken efficiency to the next level. Other airports need to copy Hartsfield successful infrastructure.

it makes me wonder what's next?

Hopefully, if this hasn't already been done or considered, A skytrain route to an external parking structure

  • Thanks for the note. A number of options are being considered. New concessions and new parking areas are possibilities. What would you like to see happen with the space?

  • Airline Baggage offices and/or concierge for the Atlanta area possibly....It would also be great to see access for arriving passengers form the planned south terminal complex

  • I would like to see an area filled with solar panels that can provide power to the airport kind of like Denver. As great as the airport is, maybe it's time for it to go green.

  • ATL is already green in many ways! We're saving water and energy where ever we can. In fact, upgrades to the airport's central utility plant alone will save as much as 10 million gallons of water annually. As for solar panels, remember Denver is about 10 times the size of ATL in land area so they have much more room to make efficient use of solar technology. Thanks for the note!

  • What's going on the land where the rental agencies are currently located?

  • cool perspective. horrible music :-0

  • what's up with the columns right around 0:38 - future expansion perhaps?

  • Thanks for the note. Those are a decorative element for the Georgia International Convention Center that line its entrance road.

  • Brilliant! That will be a better facility than any other airport I've been to. Certainly beats Newark, DFW, SFO, LGA, O'Hare, and MSP. Nice

  • I can't wait for it to open!

  • I was just there, it is a very big airport.
