  • Good tip, like it !

  • Great idea with the pebbles so as not to make a hole in the blanket. I'd never have thought of that. Thank you.

  • @NinjaKiller221 You are very welcome...

  • Nice job man. Great tip!

  • @ReeperzOutdoors Thanks...

  • Great tip Thanks

  • @Jcarr62 welcome...

  • The bit about enclosing pebbles in the fabric to anchor the ties on each side is pure genius. And believe me, this hooded cape looks very noble and the natural color of undyed wool makes it even better.

  • @Khamomil Thanks...

  • We were taught K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) .You can use a blanket a light tarp or in an emergency plastic. Simplest ideas are best. People think they can rely on expensive equipment, state of the art knives as the be all and end all. In an emergency it is basic Bushcraft that saves lives.Use what you have is the key.Cheers mate, you have increased the knowledge to some one who has been camping out for over forty years, you are never to old to learn or take good advice..

  • @BivyBagDave Welcome....

  • Gandalf the grey....real great magic show, Mike :o)

    But seriously, really great tips.

    Thank you my friend.

    All the best to you.

    Greetings Tito

  • @Naturliebe All that is missing is the grey :) thanks Tito :)

  • When you were doing your fashion show, I bet Josie was soooo

    trying NOT laugh out loud.

    Sorry Mike...

I spent most of the video trying to get a look at your neck knife

    and leather sheath....lol.

Any chance you could do a quick video and show me please? :-)

    Thanks mate.

    Rob

  • @RDPproject Absolutely Rob :) She was laughing :) For the knife I show it on one of my vids called...on the hunt....thanks Rob :)

  • should have tied a flashlight to your belt, may the shwartz be with you!

  • Hey Bro. Thanx for the tip. I got a few rear earth magnets tied into my blanket in place of the pebbles. Gives me a way buttoning up the front.

  • @MrBudwv lol. I ment "rare" not rear.

  • @MrBudwv Hey Brother nice to hear from you...thanks

  • I would call it a Wool Hoodie. :) Sounds more masculine.

  • @SurviveN2 Now that ones funny Drag...Thanks :)))

  • Hi Mike,

Another word for it (maybe a bit manlier), is cloak.

    Take care,

    Reno

  • @StratoManBasejumper Thank you for the word :)

  • Time to get the needle and thread out. Why not sew a couple of buttons and loops on the blanket? Make life a lot easier.

  • @leighrate Yes that would be a good Idea but I still use it to sleep on...dont want anything poking me :)

  • Thanks for passing the info on Mike. You know if that were a red blanket I would think you were Superman at The Fortress of Solitude. lol ;-JJD

  • Realy good I give you a 9 1/2 out of 10 :) you probly make a gathered end hammock with your blanket to I was gonna make a vid on it but i still cant upload yet maybe you could.

  • @mohawksniper79 Yes you certainly can make a hammock with it. Thanks

  • Nice job essentially its a matchcoat, used probably since we had blankets

  • @cottonwoodscamp Thank you.

  • Very good idea to use pebbles - so you don't have keep the rope permanently on the blanket...

(While I watched you I couldn't avoid to think about medieval monks, roman soldiers (with their coat behind their back) and St. Martin.)

  • Lets call it a cape, that is manly right like Batman ;)

  • Always worried that I'll have a big fat butt when I put a wool blanket on! :-P

Great video, thanx. I still want to look into putting small cords or Velcro on to aid in using the wool blanket as a sleeping bag and as a cloak.

  • @marcjacobi Good idea :)

  • I thought you were Frodo for a moment there:o)

I love wool too, very few things that beat it when it comes to performance and durability.

Thank you again for a great video my friend.

    Rob

  • @Andersbork :))) Thanks Rob....

  • @ArtisanTony :)

  • perhaps a tutorial on "how to make your wool blanket into a snuggie"?

  • That's one piece of versatile gear.....Got my jungle hammock and tarps coming in the mail. Wool is good the tropics as well during the winter, but I'd go with the thin- light weight versions.
